Chapter 124: Conflict

While Victor and Lyra were lost in their thoughts, Killian and Demir were still outside looking for Kyrell.

After leaving Darcio’s place, Killian felt anxious about many things. First, it was about the eagle king, learning that he was also part of a prophecy made him want to crush that gem into pieces but what frustrated him more was not knowing about the last one from the prophecy. What if it was another crazy guy like eagle king? these thoughts completely occupied his mind making him neglectful towards Demir who was staring at Lyra’s mark on his wrist.

"This is my sunshine’s mark right?" he came out of his thoughts hearing Demir’s voice.

He glanced at his right wrist and nodded, "Hmm, why?"

"It’s nothing," said Demir, "It is unforeseen seeing a female’s mark on a male’s body" his eyes turned dark as he added, "You are lucky"

Killian smiled still looking at his wrist, "She was born to be mine after all"

And Demir didn’t like that remark at all, "Are you boasting right now?"

"Yes I am," Killian said and continued walking while tracking the eagle king’s traces. Seeing Demir still in his place, he frowned, "Are you not coming?"

Demir blinked his eyes and started walking. Soon they reached the cliff where Lyra was found by Kenna and started climbing it.

Kyrell narrowed his eyes when he felt someone trespassing his territory. He immediately reinforced his barrier around the cliff which made both Killian and Demir recoil from their place.

Killian looked up the cliff and noticed a golden-colored concealed barrier surrounding it. He closed his eyes and started manifesting his powers, then he stretched his palm towards the barrier. It was harder than he guessed, so he decided to summon Kenna but halted when he sensed the barrier disappearing.

He looked up in surprise but his question was answered when a majestic golden eagle descended in front of them.

Kyrell shifted into his beast-man form and looked at them with bored eyes, "What do you want?" Wasn’t Lyra back in the rose castle, why were they still behind him? To punish him for Kidnapping her? He wanted them to try.

Demir was the first to come out of his trance, "We are here to discuss something with you"

He frowned, "What is it?"

Killian stepped forward and said, "We recently found out about you being part of the prophecy"

Kyrell furrowed his brows and waited for Killian to complete his words, "We have a sage on our side who informed us that the prophecy was manipulated before reaching him"

"Manipulated?"

Killian nodded, "We are not certain about the source that manipulated it but learned that not all from Prophecy were shown in the first vision that the sage had"

"I don’t understand," said Kyrell. He just knew that he was destined for Lyra, but not about the prophecy. This was new to him, that merman just informed him that he was meant to be with her and that’s it.

Demir sighed and stopped Killian, "He will get confused if you suddenly mention prophecy" then he turned towards Kyrell and asked, "Do you know anything about sapphire of wish?"

Kyrell nodded, "I heard that it had gone missing eighteen years ago" As the gem belonged to the eagle tribe in the past, he knew some things about it.

"Do you know anything about the reason for its disappearance?"

He thought about it and something flashed in his mind, "That it went missing with a king from our tribe?" he asked still not sure about this matter.

Demir smiled, "And the king who took it is Lyra’s father"

Kyrell was shocked, "What?"

Knowing his surprise, Demir revealed everything about Lyra’s past with gem and vaguely mentioned the enemies that they have to face in the future.

Hearing all of Demir’s words, Kyrell stood frozen in his place. It was too much information. Now he understood how Lyra was able to use mystic powers, she was half fairy and half-angel. Then he got eager to learn about the one that manipulated the prophecy ordained by gem. It was better to know about all of the enemies before facing them. Then an instinctive smile adorned his lips, he felt glad that he was chosen to protect Lyra. All his life, he was told that he was not needed and his existence was unnecessary but now it was different, now he had someone he loves and believed that Lyra too liked him.

After discussing all the important things with Kyrell, Killian, and Demir asked him to return with them but Kyrell refused, "I’ll come when the time is right" he wanted to do as Lyra said, she asked for some more time, so he would give her that.

Killian and Demir were confused about his decision but didn’t pry too much and left that place.

SNAKE TRIBE

Blake was currently inside the meeting room of the snake tribe discussing the upcoming battle that they had to face.

As the snake tribe was filled with vicious fighters, he just had to give some instructions about the enemies and his warriors were ready to confront them.

Peter too made sure to shift females and snakelings to somewhere safe. He also warned the tribesmen to not mention this battle to young masters and they agreed.

They were anticipating the black wolf tribe to make the first move and the battle finally started at nightfall.

As soon as Blake heard this, he left the tribe to not awaken his blood lust. Fighting and the smell of blood fueled his inner beast. Being an immortal beastman, it was difficult to control one’s power during battles, so he purposely avoided it to not cause harm to his own tribesmen.

BLACK WOLF TRIBE

King Alexander of the black wolf tribe was waiting for this day for a long time. It was his first step in taking revenge against the snake king.

While he was immersed in preparing the battle strategies, one of his aides rushed towards him with a pale face, "We are in trouble, your majesty! Lord Kaizer is looking for you"

The King turned towards him with a frown, "What?"

The aide’s eyes were filled with terror, "He said that he wanted to participate in the battle against the snake tribe"

"Has he lost it!?" the king bellowed. It was already risky enough for him to start a fight inside the beast city without seeking other tribes’ permission. He was already getting ready for the aftermath of this battle on his tribe. He would not even be surprised if they were thrown out of the city for not abiding by the rules.

"Inform him that it is not possible, an immortal beastman can never enter battles between tribes until it is crucial" this was also the reason why he was confident in going against the snake tribe. As an immortal beastman, the snake king would refrain from going into battle and this would be advantageous for the black wolf tribe.

The aide frowned, "He doesn’t listen your majesty....."

"Then make him," said the king with finality not leaving any space for further discussion.

"I’ll follow your orders, your majesty," the aide said and left that place.

After that, the aide walked towards the cave where Lord Kaizer was residing.
