"Kyrell?" She looked up at the ruby-like eyes in surprise.

An instinctive smile adorned her lips when she saw him standing like an adorable puppy in front of her, "How did you...?" she looked back and forth between the balcony and him but soon understood that he must have flown up in his beast form.

Kyrell stared at his beloved female’s face with his heart racing. He instinctively stepped towards her and hugged her tightly by her waist.

Lyra blinked her eyes at his sudden hug and awkwardly embraced him back, "What’s wrong?" she asked this because she sensed his anxiousness.

"I missed you...I-I thought that I could never see you again" her eyes mellowed as soon as those words left his mouth. She stroked his back tenderly and relaxed her body against his, "I’m here"

"You are here," he said assuring himself that she was really here with him, "I’m glad"

She chuckled, "Are you alright now?"

"Hmm," he replied. For the last few days, he tried many times to get inside the castle to see her, but some barrier always repelled him from entering. As his powers were still not fully recovered, it took time for him to break that barrier.

He was going crazy after not seeing her, it was the first time that he felt something like this. Being this needy was never even an option to him in the past, but after meeting this beautiful creature, everything changed in his life.

Lyra wanted to talk to him but he was not allowing her to move away from his embrace. Without any other option, she spoke still in his arms, "Do you know that my mates are looking for you?"

He nodded, "The entrance of the eagle tribe is blocked by the silver Wolf and Lion tribe" he was irritated when he saw someone else inside his territory. Kyrell wanted to annihilate them for challenging his authority but tolerated them because he knew that they were affiliated with Lyra. He was afraid that she would get sad if he killed her people.

Lyra sighed and pulled away from him, "Then where are currently residing?"

"In my hideout," he said shrugging nonchalantly but smiled faintly seeing her worried face "Don’t worry, No one can find me until I decide"

She pursed her lips, "I’ll talk to them, You can’t always stay in hiding like this"

He caressed her face, "I can wait" Kyrell understood that it is difficult for her to ask her mates to let off the one who kidnapped her and accept him as part of their family.

Lyra shook her head, "It’s not your fault, you wouldn’t have kidnapped me if not for that Gregory’s words"

"But ultimately it was my decision," he said bending his head, "I got swayed by that merman’s words without even trying to investigate the truth"

"Admitting your mistake is the first step in the right direction," she said with a gentle smile, "Everyone will make blunders in their life, but correcting and making sure to not repeat those mistakes in the future is more important than dwelling in the past"

He looked up at her as she continued, "I’m sure that my mates will understand if I explain, so let’s go" saying that, she took his hand and pulled him out of the room.

Victor just entered the castle and he caught sight of his sweet girl coming down the stairs holding a stranger’s hand. He was ready to confront the stranger who dared to touch his female but halted his steps when he recognized him as the new eagle king.

Kyrell was still processing her sudden action when he saw the vulture beastman that he trapped in the forest now standing in front of him.

Lyra noticed Victor and walked to him, "Victor where are the others? I have something important to say to you all"

Victor glanced at Kyrell and then at their intertwined hands. He casually split them apart by pulling Lyra towards him, "I don’t know, I just returned"

Kyrell looked at his empty hand and glared at Victor. Lyra didn’t think much about his action and sighed, "It’s fine, I’ll just inform everyone after they return"

"What is he doing here?" he asked pointing his fingers towards the eagle king.

She hesitated a bit but finally said, "Kyrell will stay in the rose castle from today"

"What!?" Victor exclaimed turning to her.

Lyra was startled because of his loud voice but soon started to explain, "Kyrell was tricked by Gregory into kidnapping me. That man informed him that I was Kyrell’s destined mate and someone else stole his spot"

Victor’s face turned dark, "So you are saying that he listened to that bastard and poisoned your food in the banquet, which almost killed you and your child?"

Kyrell widened his eyes, "Poisoned?" he was confused in the beginning but soon remembered about the barbecued meat that Lyra consumed in the banquet.

Lyra looked between them and urgently informed, "Kyrell didn’t know about my food being poisoned. Even after finding out, Gregory lied to him saying that the thing that he mixed was only to make me unconscious and not harmful....."

"Stop defending him!" Victor cut her words coldly not at all liking the fact that she was going to such lengths to defend another male.

Lyra flinched hearing Victor’s cold voice. It was the first time he used such a tone to talk to her and that made her sad.

Victor quickly took notice of her grim face and cupped her face then said in a soft voice, "I’m sorry...I shouldn’t have spoken to you in that manner" What was wrong with him? It was unlike him to behave like this. He knew about his possessiveness towards her but always forced himself to control that because he was scared about doing something irrational. Deep in his thoughts, he failed to notice that he was clutching her face too tightly.

Lyra winched in pain and parted her lips, "Vi-Victor, You are hurting me"

Kyrell was the one to hear her first and he angrily peeled off Victor’s hands on her face by pushing him away, "What are you doing!?"

Victor came out of his thoughts as he staggered. Then he looked at Lyra’s tear-filled eyes and hand mark on her face, "Swe-Sweet girl" he stammered not able to believe that he hurt her, then he stretched his hands towards her but Kyrell shoved it away, "Stay away from her"

And that’s it, Victor felt his anger rising when he heard those words. His eyes turned into slits, "You dare take her away from me!?"

Lyra recoiled hearing his piercing voice that echoed inside the castle walls. She looked at him with terrified eyes, "Victor...Why are you...?"

Victor gazed at her with sharp eyes, "Come here" not seeing her move made him angrier, "Are you abandoning me for him?" he asked glaring at Kyrell.

Lyra frowned and pulled out from Kyrell’s grasp. He looked at her worried but she smiled reassuringly, "I’ll be fine"

Then she took small steps towards Victor and stood in front of him, "I’ll never abandon you"

His eyes mellowed and he embraced her closing his eyes, "I love you, my sweet girl"

Lyra sighed and caressed his back, "Me too Victor"

Kyrell remained still in his place with furrowed brows. He couldn’t believe that someone so gentle as Lyra was being treated in such a way. What was wrong with this male? Kyrell did not mingle with the outside world, but even he knew that females were very precious for every tribe. He had never seen males acting so rudely towards a female, much less someone that they loved.
