Chapter 105: Our home

Nathan frowned at Kyrell’s sudden action and got up to the plaza. He followed his line of sight and panicked, "Your majesty, this is not the right time"

Kyrell halted his steps and glanced at Nathan, "Get lost!"

"Your majesty, please!" he whispered, "Everything you are working for so hard will turn to nothing if you act now. Wait for some more time"

Kyrell gritted his teeth and finally returned to his seat. As everything looked calm, beastmen once again started to enjoy the banquet. A bonfire was prepared for each tribe, together with meat to roast and many fruits to eat.

Lyra sat next to the wolf queen and Lion queen in front of the bonfire. Lucas and Noah too joined her and started roasting meat. After finishing, Lucas put it onto a large leaf and handed it to her, "Have a taste Ly"

She took it from his hands and put it into her mouth to only spit it out instantly. Nausea hit her by just smelling the meat, "Take it away..."

Noah rubbed her back with worry, "Are you, alright baby dove?"

Lyra shook her head and got up, "I need to use a bathroom"

He too got up and looked at his mother, "What is happening to her?"

The lion queen sighed, "Feeling like this is common during pregnancy"

Noah just nodded his head and took Lyra out of their bonfire. He stopped a guard beastman of the eagle tribe, "Is there a bathhouse nearby?"

The guard beastman glimpsed at Nathan and parted his lips only after receiving a nod, "There is one inside the eagle castle your highness"

"Can you take us in? My mate is with child and wants to rest"

"Offcourse your highness" saying that the guard beastman led them into eagle castle.

Lyra felt horrible with dizziness and constant reappearance of nausea. The guard beastman excused himself after showing the bathhouse. Together with Noah, she entered and washed her face and mouth to remove the meat’s taste. Then she slumped against Noah’s chest feeling tired.

He sensed her discomfort and frowned. Nothing like this happend when she ate meat in the past so he didn’t know how to make her feel better. Supporting her to walk out, he glanced at the room near them and entered.

"You should lay down for sometime baby dove"

She shook her head, "It is improper for us to use someone else’s place"

"I’ll talk to them later, so just sleep and get some rest"

Heeding his continuous urging, she lay on the stone bed and closed her eyes. Noah tucked her to sleep and went to the door to find someone but clutched his head when he felt a harsh blow on him. He staggered in his place and tried to look clearly but only saw a blurry silhouette of a beastman with red eyes.

Kyrell walked past him on the ground into the room. He stared at Lyra’s sleeping form and kneeled beside her. Taking her palm, he held it against his face and closed his eyes. Her hands were so small and warm which soothed his erratic heart.

Gregory entered the room, "We need to move her from here before the drug wears off"

Kyrell opened his eyes, "Didn’t I tell you to not use the drug?"

"You don’t have to worry, it is perfectly harmless and she already spitted most of it before consuming"

"She is with child!" Kyrell’s sharp voice made Gregory freeze.

He rushed towards the bed and started examining her. Soon he sighed a relief, "Both mother and the child are safe" and in the next instant, he received a heavy blow against his face and scampered towards the wall.

Kyrell picked up Lyra in his arms and glared at Gregory, "Try doing something like this to her again and I will make you wish for death"

Gregory coughed out blood as Kyrell took her out of the room.

He took long strides towards the eagle cliff, his old house, and climbed up. Reaching the peak, he created a barrier around that place that would block foreign powers from entering. The entire mountain was covered in a golden light invisible to others.

Entering his cave, he looked down at Lyra in his arms. Sitting down on the ground, he hugged her and buried his face in her neck, "Mine"

She felt perfect in his arms, "Were you really made for me as that merman said?"

He pulled away from her and stared at her calm face. He narrowed his eyes when he felt her stirring awake.

Lyra groaned and fluttered her eyes. A splitting headache hit her and she rubbed her head, "Are you alright?"

She jolted awoke hearing an unfamiliar voice and panicked even more when she realized that she was in someone’s arms, "Who...?"

In front of her, she saw a handsome man with light blonde and red eyes. His eyes shone like a ruby stone with darkness hidden in the depths of them. Lyra frowned and struggled to get out of his hold, "Let me go!"

Kyrell just smiled at her futile struggle, "I won’t"

She glared at him, "Who are you?" then she glanced at her surroundings, "Where is this place?"

"It’s my home" he replied, "And it will be our home from now on"

Lyra felt furious hearing his words, then she widened her eyes recognizing the strange man in front of her, "Aren’t you the new eagle king? Why are you doing this to me?" Noah...Where is Noah?"

Kyrell frowned hearing another man’s name from her, "That lion beastman? He might be still unconscious after receiving my fist"

"You attacked him?"

"Yes"

"Why!?" She yelled

Kyrell remained calm, "How could I take you away with him around. Be thankful that I didn’t kill him then and there"

Lyra clenched her fist as anger raised hearing his words. And the next moment, blue light sparkled in her fingers and she pushed him away with all her might. Kyrell was caught off-guard when her power struck him. She instantly put a distance between them and looked at him, "You are telling me to be thankful for not killing my mate!? Who do you think you are?"

Kyrell struggled to get up on his feet, "You have powers?"

She too was surprised when she struck him. But now it felt natural for her to use the water attribute as her own. After that dream with a fairy, she realized that something was different, but now all of that made sense.

Lyra didn’t know anything about this stranger, but she felt very angry when he dared to say that he hurt Noah, "Tell me what is your motive in bringing me here?"

"It’s because you are supposed to be my mate"

"What are you talking about?"

"The prophecy," he said, "I’m the right one from the prophecy....but I heard that some other bastard stole that away from me"

Lyra’s eyes flickered. She remembered Killian’s words, he too mentioned his possibility of not being the one from the prophecy. But she didn’t believe it because it didn’t matter and another reason was that it was said by Gregory. That merman was well known for spouting lies and manipulating others.

"Did a merman inform you about this?"

Kyrell nodded, "He said that my rightful place beside you was stolen away from someone else. And also asked me to seize the eagle throne if I wanted to make you mine"

She raised her brows, "And you believed that even without meeting me, the one who is supposed to be your mate and decided to kill your brother and Kidnap me?" she grew angrier the more she spoke, "Do you even know what that merman did to me and my family? He held my mother captive not long ago, the one who you are saying that took your place saved her from his clutches and brought her home"

Kyrell was shocked, "I- I didn’t know..."

She didn’t let him talk and continued, "He wants to kill me to take revenge on my father, and you believed everything he said just like that?"

His face turned cold, "He wants to kill you?"

Lyra gritted her teeth and just turned around from him and started walking towards the entrance of the cave. Kyrell panicked seeing her leave and rushed towards her.

He hugged her in desperation as tears made their way in his eyes, "Please don’t leave me, love. I know I did wrong so, please forgive me. I was drowned in misery and hopelessness in my life when that merman came and showed you. He said that I too had a chance to receive someone’s love and affection. That made me blind to everything else, I’m sorry....."
