Chapter 100: Communication

Chapter 100: Communication

Iria felt numb hearing her mate’s words regarding Gregory.

Theodore observed her crestfallen face and carefully opened his mouth, "I know that this might be too much for you to handle but I don’t want to hide anything from you anymore. I did that mistake in the past when I didn’t inform you about the secrets of ’Sapphire of wish’ which led to all of this and I to this day regret my decision" he knelt on the ground and leaned against her waist and continued, "I should have been honest and communicated with you, I’m sorry Iria"

She caressed his head and she finally replied, "I was also at fault Theo, I was too timid to speak things with you and I have to admit that we lacked communication as a couple. Let’s not berate each other for the past that we cannot change and focus on the future"

"Hmm" he nodded his head and lifted it to stare at her face, "I wanted to ask you this as soon as we met but I thought that you might be uncomfortable"

"Don’t hesitate anymore, Theo. I’m alright so go ahead"

Theodore took a deep breath and felt relaxed hearing her encouraging words, "I recently learned that the gem doesn’t exchange one’s life for granting a wish" he observed as she flinched, "Who killed you Iria?"

Iria felt her blood freeze hearing his question. That awful night’s memories came crashing down making her dreadful. She clenched her fists and replied, "It was Henrick’s father" tears trickled down her cheeks as she continued, "Because of me Henrick...." she started sobbing because she couldn’t continue her words. She still remembered the day Henrick lost his life trying to save her from his father.

Before meeting him, she was resolute about having only one mate for her life because that was how she grew up in her world, but Henrick’s sincerity and selflessness touched her heart. They became mates and only two of them including Theodore knew the truth, but now she got to know that Gregory was always aware of that fact.

"Shhh, Don’t cry Iria...." Theodore cooed her in his embrace, "It is not your fault and Henrick would have never blamed you too"

Iria relaxed a little and continued telling about that night, "After I gave birth to Lyra, I made a wish to bring her back alive. Back then I was too scared to let my daughter face the same fate as me because of the gem, so I made another wish and sent her to my world. Just after her departure, I realized that the eagle tribe’s witch master betrayed us by disclosing my location to the late fox king. He blamed me for Henrick’s death and tried to kill me but I was baffled when the gem which I sent with Lyra came in front of me and after that everything went dark"

Theodore clenched his jaws, "My tribe’s witch master said that you died after making a wish, and you instructed him to send Lyra to another world"

"He was not even with me when I gave birth" Iria quickly denied, "It was after everything that he came to me with the late fox king and Henrick’s brother"

"Henrick’s brother was with them?"

She frowned, "Now that I think about it, he seemed to be controlled by someone. Henrick once introduced me to Jacob and we got along well. But that night, he looked at me like an enemy"

Theodore thought about it and he too felt that something was wrong. The young man who he met with Henrick in the past was nothing like the scheming king in present. Maybe he too blamed Iria for his brother’s death but trying to kill her was not something he would do. His love and respect for his brother were too much for him to hurt someone that his brother loved.

"Did Gregory truly kidnap me and lie to you about my death?"

He came out of his thoughts hearing her words. It was difficult for him to reveal everything about his once best friend, but he had no choice and nodded his head, "As I told you earlier he faked your death and kept you as a hostage with Prescott’s help. Both of them planned to bring out your soul and exchange it with Lyra’s on the day of the blood eclipse"

Iria fell silent, wasn’t it the same as killing her daughter for bringing her soul out? She couldn’t believe her ears hearing about Gregory’s deeds. Was he always this cruel? Was this his payback for not accepting him as her mate? She didn’t know, she truly didn’t know whom or what to believe from now on.

And about that erratic guy Prescott, he never cared about her decisions or her choice. He just wanted to make her his, no matter the path he had to take for achieving that. She chuckled bitterly, Was she some kind of trophy for these men? All of them said that they loved her but she was well aware that nobody respected her. Even Theodore was the same, he was dominant from the beginning, but she loved him too much to find fault in him in the past. But the only one person to both respect and love her was Henrick, she was happy and had given her complete consent when she mated with him, but he was no more. She yearned for his presence now, Iria wanted to complain and vent out all of her worries in front of him while he hugged and soothed her with his words.

She sighed knowing that was not possible and changed the topic, "How many mates does Lyra have?"

Theodore sat on the stone bed beside her and answered, "According to the prophecy she will have six mates"

"Six?" she asked surprised, "Do they fight..."

"Don’t worry, I have never seen them getting in physical fights. They do get into verbal fights but they know their limits. All of them love Lyra and are scared to disappoint her in any way, so yeah they get along quite well being Powerful individuals themselves"

Iria sighed a relief, "I’m glad that they get along, I don’t want my daughter to face the same situation as me"

Theodore smiled faintly, "You don’t have to worry about our daughter Iria, she has quite a strong personality. She is calm and collected, Knows the right words to say to her males. They are like lovesick Puppies around her"

As they were conversing, Lucas knocked on the door to their room, "Dinner is ready"

Theodore got up from his place and stretched his hands to Iria, "Let us have something first, we can continue our talk later"

She took his hand and followed after him to the rose castle’s living room. Lucas and Noah brought the food from the kitchen and arranged it on the stone table. Victor and Blake together with his little ones sat on the stone chairs.

Blake put the raw meat inside a huge bowl on the ground for the little ones to eat. All of them glanced at Theodore and Iria as they made their way towards the table.

Victor widened his eyes with his mouth agape as he stared at Iria, "You look just like my sweet girl, mother-in-law. So pretty!"

Iria felt uncomfortable under his twinkling gaze and replied meekly, "Thank you for your compliment"

Victor just beamed at her. Even Noah and Lucas were often stunned seeing the resemblance between Lyra and her mother but only Blake continued to eat his dinner not caring about his surroundings because he was seething inside. That Killian bastard was refusing to let go of his Lilly and clung to her all day. He was acting pitiful about losing his energy and his naive Lilly believed him.
