Chapter 84: Her team

VALENCIA’S POV

After shopping for the dress, I went straight to the forest where my lake house was. But rather than going towards the house, I went towards the other side of the forest where I knew my men were already waiting for me.

After driving the car for fifteen more minutes, the car that I borrowed from Carl, I finally reached the area that those men had told me about before stepping out of the car.

"Boss," I heard a faint whisper and immediately took off my sunglasses.

I turned around and looked at the man, who smiled at me.

"You are here," He said with a smile.

I rolled my eyes at him.

"No, obviously not. It’s my ghost who came here to greet you. Meet Ghost Cici," I said, and the man sighed before smiling and shaking his head.

"Aren’t you funny as always?" He asked before he walked to me and hugged me, making me reciprocate the hug.

Who was he? He was one of the alphas who turned a rogue and then joined my team of rogues for the greater good.

"What do you have in mind for me, Ghost Cici? We don’t have much time. The flight is booked for today," The man said.

I scoffed at him before snatching the ice cream from his hand.

"How did you know I was craving an ice cream?" I grinned.

"When do you not crave food?" He chuckled before he led me to the place where one more man was waiting for us.

"Who told you guys to come this far in the first place?" I raised my brows when I saw it wasn’t just the two of them as three of them walked out with big grins on their faces, confusing me.

"What’s going on here?" I licked the ice cream before looking at it suspiciously.

"Don’t tell me you guys spiked my ice cream and now you are planning on kidnapping me," I said.

The guys rolled their eyes at me collectively, and I grinned before sitting on the large rock because as everyone knows, I am a lazy ass.

"Well, we found out everything about what happened and how you saved that pregnant woman," The man said.

I looked at them confused.

So? What was the big deal about it? They all know I would risk my life to save them, which brings me back to my original question. What was this all about?

"And?" I looked at them.

"And we are here to celebrate with you. You did well. We are proud of you," Tory said, and I raised my brows when they brought out a small pineapple cake for me.

I looked at them, white surprised.

Just what were these guys thinking?

"And here I thought I would be getting into big trouble because of what I did. The news about it has already spread, and I won’t be surprised if the council calls me back. Even if no one knows about it, I can’t hide my crimes from Carl and Dylan," I said, and Tory and Theo looked at each other.

With the dagger that they brought for me because my daggers are laced with wolfbane which would be lethal for them, I cut the cake, giving everyone a piece of the cake before I took the last one and the biggest chunk.

Everyone smiled at my antics, and I pouted.

Well, could they blame me? The cake was originally for me. They should be grateful that I was ready to share it with them in the first place.

"Well, we knew you would be fretting over it too. That’s why we made sure to go again and attack the pack," Theo said, his words making me cough on the piece of cake.

What did he say? Did they attack the pack again? What for?

And why was I not informed of it?

I looked at them for answers and Theo chuckled at my reaction.

"Don’t worry. I am just kidding. Nothing like that happened. We just went to the forest to send some threatening letters to the alpha where we told them if they dared to look for the rogue girl or woman, we wouldn’t be going easy on them and the next time would result in bloodshed from the innocents," Theo said.

As he was talking, I could see the alpha inside him taking over and demanding authority, making me observe all the men one by one depending on their ranks.

I was playing a risky game. With the two alphas and many betas and gammas on my rogue team, if any of them decided to show disloyalty to me, it would be a big loss for me.

However, just like life, I was riding the cahoots of this journey based on trust.

"Whatever. What is the real reason you guys are here?" I asked, turning my expression serious this time and they sighed.

"Nothing can get past you, can it?" They asked, and I hummed.

"Well, we have a few proposals for you. I mean, for what we are planning to do at the engagement party to ruin it completely and want your advice on it," Theo said and I shook my head.

"Leave it," I said.

"What?" He asked me and I shrugged at him.

"Just what I said. Leave it. Let’s not destroy that engagement anymore," I said, looking into some distance.

I am sure around thousands of thoughts just went inside Theo’s, Tory’s, and others’ heads but it was what it was.

I did not want them to get involved in this petty work.

And it wasn’t because I suddenly had some kind of enlightenment and didn’t want to ruin that party.

It was all because Dylan, Carl, the entire council, and the pack knew that I was the only one who had such a problem with their engagement, and if anything happened in the engagement I would be the one to be blamed.

Dylan and Carl who already know me and know that I would be definitely doing something wouldn’t find it hard to connect the rogue attack and all the mishap with me, thus, I wanted to hold back for some time.

It wasn’t like I really hated the fact they were getting engaged. What I hated was how dare they rub it in my face and mock me. And to ruin their ego, I wasn’t at the mercy of some kind of event.

"Are you sure about it? You were the one who was most excited about it. If you think we won’t be able to do it effectively, how about looking at some of our plans? Maybe you will change your mind after it?" Theo said.

I looked at the men, and seeing their concerned faces, I narrowed my brows.

"What is wrong?" I asked.

Theo shook his head to tell me it was nothing, but even a fool could see something bothered him and I held his hand to stop him.

"Tell me," I asked.

"Have you... Have you found someone else for your work? Do you not trust us anymore? Even for this attack, you didn’t even ask any of us if we were in the area or not. You just went all into it alone. Is something wrong with us?" Theo asked.

Sensing the insecurity in his voice, I looked at all the other men to see if they had the same doubts, and seeing them not denying it, I sighed.

"Why do you guys always think of the worst? I am asking you to not do anything at the engagement because Dylan knows I am pissed off. And any rogue attack would immediately indicate towards me," I said before looking at them with a smile.

"For me, you guys are like my hidden weapons. I don’t want anyone to find out I am preparing an army of rogues myself to become stronger without the help of any council of the pack. It will be problematic for me. That’s why I am asking you to not do anything during the engagement.

However, I never said I didn’t want you to ruin that pack’s reputation. Just not now," I said, smiling.

I noticed how Theo, Tory, and others immediately relaxed before nodding at me.

"Now we will discuss the plans later. You guys have a flight to catch too. And don’t spend much money uselessly. If you want to plan something like this, call me, and I will be there. It will be much better than five people’s travel expenses," I said before we shared some information about our recent activities.

Once everyone sat inside the car, I was about to walk to my car too when Tory appeared behind me.

"By the way, Valencia, there is something I wanted you to know. I haven’t told anyone about it," He said.

I hummed, nodding at him encouragingly to go ahead with what he wanted to say.

"The chances are, the rogue head might be looking for you," He said.

I stood there, quite shocked.

The rogue head? The beast leader of the rogues? He was looking for me? But why?
