Beast Alpha and His Cursed Luna -
Chapter 54: Embarrassment at its peak
Chapter 54: Embarrassment at its peak
VALENCIA’S POV
It was warm and cozy.
The mattress I was sleeping in was too comfortable even though it was a little hard and had some bumps, it was too comfortable.
’I know, right? Even with the mattress’s hands wrapped around us, with it practically squeezing us, it was too comforting,’ Aurora said, and I agreed with her before snuggling my face further into the warmth.
The scent was a bonus along with -
Wait. Did she say hands wrapped around us?
I opened my eyes immediately, my eyes widening when I realized I was probably lying on top of someone.
What the hell? Who was it? Aiden?
I wondered as I struggled to sit, but the familiar intoxicating scent made me realize this wasn’t Aiden I was lying to, but rather a very mischievous beta who always finds his way around me.
"Yo, man, what the hell?" I asked before I practically pushed him out of the bed, making him fall to the ground.
And from the way his eyes flew wide as soon as he fell, I am sure he didn’t expect me to do it.
Well, Valencia was the name of an unpredictable queen.
"Seriously?" He looked at me, and I shrugged.
I looked around myself and noticed I was in some kind of hospital room once again.
For the moon goddess’s sake, why do I keep ending up in hospital? This was twice in 24 hours already. I don’t earn that handsomely either.
"After everything I did for you?" Shadow asked me, and I looked at him, warily.
He did for me? What did he do for me? I furrowed my brows.
"You don’t remember?" He asked me, his eyes clearly showing his disbelief.
I looked at him, unsure. Did something important really happen? Then again, if I ended up in the hospital room, it might be important.
Did any of us get hurt?
’Seriously, Valencia. Act more dumb. Why would you end up here if he got hurt? It was obviously you,’ Aurora said, and I scowled.
I just woke up. Why was she roasting me the first thing?
With a pout, I looked back at Shadow.
"Did I get hurt?" I asked hopefully, and I saw him frustratingly raking his hands, making me smile sheepishly.
"Hehe," I giggled, not even knowing why I even found the situation funny.
He paused and looked at me before shaking his head and standing.
"So you find this funny?" He asked and I bit the inside of my cheeks.
"You just fainted," Shadow said and I hummed.
"Wait. Aiden was taking me to the street fighting club. Don’t tell me I fainted there. Oh my, my reputation! Everything got ruined. How will I face myself in the mirror anymore?" I murmured before placing around helplessly.
I have never lost a match to a human. It was true that I wasn’t as powerful as an alpha, but I was a beta’s daughter and after months of living like this while fighting with the rogues, I had learned a few tricks and fighting.
Thus losing a match against a human was like a slap to all my hard work.
Wait. Was that person even a human to begin with? What if that person was a hidden supernatural acting like a human? That could be the case too.
I nodded at myself before looking at the man in front of me who was looking at me with an amused expression.
"What?" I asked, defensively.
"Are you done talking to yourself? And no, you didn’t lose a match against a human. In fact, you didn’t even reach the ring in the first place," Shadow said before he sat on the bed, making me raise my brows.
"By the way, don’t you think you cheat when you fight against humans?" He asked me as he pulled out his phone before checking some messages from his people randomly.
"Well, I don’t have a wolf. Doesn’t that make me more human than a werewolf?" I asked in my defense and he hummed.
Seeing him getting lost in his work, I crawled towards him slowly, hoping to see what he was reading.
"Sir, it’s important. Call -" I could not read the remaining part as Shadow suddenly held my hand and twisted me in a way that I fell on his lap with my face in his lap, facing him.
"Don’t you know it’s bad manners to peek into someone’s phone?" He asked, and I scowled.
Look at him talking about decency when I am sure he would’ve done the same if it was me talking to someone.
This reminds me. Where is my backpack in the first place?
I looked around before finally spotting it. And did I mention my head was still in his lap?
"Stop moving for heaven’s sake," Shadow suddenly gritted his teeth, and I furrowed my brows.
"Geez, what got you-" I turned my head to angle my body in a way that I would be able to sit properly.
However, as soon as I turned, the thing that came into my view made my cheeks turn completely red and heat crept to my neck before I hurriedly tried to sit, almost falling from the bed in the process if not for Shadow who held my hand and saved me.
’I am sure he stocks a big D in those pants,’ I remembered Aurora’s words, and seeing the big tent that formed in his pants, I don’t doubt those words anymore.
Wait. Why was I thinking about his d*ck in the first place?!
"I... I am sorry," I looked at him flabbergasted and he cleared his throat.
"Well, it’s a natural reaction to someone rubbing there. You don’t need to be ashamed of that," I said when he placed the pillow on his lap.
He paused, his dramatic pause making my heart skip a beat.
"Shy? Do you think I am hiding it because I am shy?" Shadow asked before he removed the pillow and stood straight.
He walked closer to me, his every step making my heart thump loudly and I looked at him with wide eyes.
"Shadow, w-what are you doing?" I asked, perplexed.
And I didn’t even know why the heck was my eyes darting to his forbidden regions against and against.
"What do you think I am doing here, Valencia? I am showing you that I am not shy about it and neither am I embarrassed. Do you know why I hid it? Because I was being decent and respecting you as a girl. Because I didn’t want you to feel uncomfortable. But it looks like we got it all twisted, yeah?" Shadow asked before he leaned towards me, caging me between his hands.
I looked into his hazel eyes with wide eyes of my own.
I was sure he was able to hear my fast-beating heart too, and I swear it was my embarrassment at its peak.
’Well, if he is so confident about it, why don’t you ask him to show us his size? Who is he to decide all these things by himself? Shouldn’t the decision be left to the other person?’ Aurora asked, and I nodded at her suggestion.
She was right in a way. Why should he be the one deciding who should be embarrassed here?
With a newfound confidence, I looked into his eyes.
"If you are so confident -" I paused.
The words that Aurora said just now finally registered in my mind, and I felt even shyer than before, before glaring at Aurora who looked like she was enjoying my miseries a bit too much.
’Aurora, I swear one day I am going to beat you to a pulp,’ I threatened my so-called fake wolf, who grinned, glaring her tongue at me, making me even angrier.
"If I am confident then what?" Shadow asked me, catching my attention again, I was about to say that it was nothing when he suddenly leaned and placed his nose in the crook of my neck.
"Tell me, Valencia. What goes inside that mischievous head of yours?" He asked, running his nose on my neck, inhaling deeply, making my heart go wild and my fingers tremble at how close we were.
I was about to reply to him when I heard the sound of a notification going off, and I quickly pushed him away before practically dashing toward my bag.
I pulled out the phone to see if it was an important message, but seeing the message from the private number, I looked at Shadow, who was looking at his phone again.
Thank God he wasn’t looking here.
I quickly opened the message and my pupils dilated when I read what was written.
"Enjoying your time with the beta of the pack, my love? Don’t you think it’s wrong? Here, flowers for you," The message said, and the attached image was a large bouquet of red roses with my name at the bottom of it.
My fingers nearly trembled at the sight.
"Is everything okay?" Shadow walked to me, and I hurriedly closed the phone before stuffing it in my bag.
"Y-yeah, everything is fine. Why wouldn’t it be fine?" I asked, and he looked at me intensely.
"Just asking. You look pale," He said with a smirk that made me feel he knew something was wrong, and I didn’t like how he always acted like he knew everything about me.
