Chapter 364: Helplessness under his attack

THIRD PERSON’S POV

Valencia watched everything with her heart pounding against her chest. The screams were like a neverending agonising song that was rendering her unable to stay put in her place even when she told Maverick she would stay back and away from the war.

Seeing her pack members struggling hard to keep up and Maverick already turning into his beast form, she couldn’t help herself and stood from her place.

So what if she was pregnant? It was her pregnancy that should’ve made her stronger, as everyone said. Rather than hiding like a coward, she would be much happier if she would die fighting.

She walked to Alisha, who was trying to help the team by creating a shield around them and making them a little immune to the devil’s tricks, but there was only so much she could do.

"Arrange for the weapons," Valencia said.

Alisha looked at Valencia, who had finally made up her mind, and smiled.

"You finally said it," Alisha said and disappeared.

As soon as Alisha vanished, the shield she had formed around the people also vanished, and the soldiers who had been guarded earlier were now exposed to strong attacks from the devil’s team.

"Aa! Mommy!" Valencia saw one of the kids being lifted and thrown to the side by the devil’s team members. Without wasting her time, she used her wolf speed and held the kid in her hands.

"Go hide inside the house," Valencia told the kid before she looked at her man, who was ripping the heads and limbs of those influenced by the devil.

"So you have finally decided to stand against me. And here I thought you were standing behind because you didn’t want to pick sides." The devil’s slithering voice came into Valencia’s ears, and she clenched her fists.

If it had been earlier, she would’ve felt anxious and scared of him, but knowing how this might be her last day as she would’ve to face the devil directly sooner or later, she didn’t flinch.

"I was never going to take your side," Valencia said before she raised her hand and let her powers take over.

Her aura started to change. Aurora stood from her place, letting the powers she had suppressed the last time take over.

"You know, I have always hated Tyler’s face, and seeing you with his face only makes things harder for you," Aurora said.

She didn’t change into her wolf form; just let her powers flow into Valencia’s body.

A weird hunter-like thing appeared to be wrapped around Valencia’s arms, making her movement a bit stiffer. However, when Valencia noticed that it was burning with flames—flames that weren’t burning her skin— she knew Aurora was using her powers to make a shield around her so shouldn’t be hurt terribly.

The devil, who had been playing with the other members like they were nothing more than pawns before him, rose in the sky as he looked at Valencia’s transformation.

"The more beautiful you look, the more I want to have you as my queen," The devil smirked.

He also raised his hand, letting his power flow into his veins. His form visibly turned greyish.

The darkness started to cloud the sky, and the clear sky was now tainted with ugly clouds that completely obscured the sun.

The werewolves looked at the sudden change in the environment and gulped as the toxicity in the air was making it hard for them even to breathe properly.

The vampires will fight the vampires, the shapeshifters, who were taking the forms of many animals, will fight the shapeshifters, the witches will fight the witches, the sirens will attack the sirens, the fairies will take down the fairies on the evil side, and the werewolves will fight the rogues.

That was their strategy.

However, things were starting to change terribly for them.

Now that the vampires from the devil’s side were targeting the shapeshifters and the sirens were targeting wolves, the wolves were rendered helpless.

They were using their weakness as their strength.

What made things even more difficult for them was that they were not coordinated. They weren’t prepared for this attack and hadn’t formed a plan to fight the devil. Meanwhile, the members of the devil’s team, despite being the other species, were well coordinated because, in the end, all of them were regulated by one supreme power: the devil.

The Lycans could see the resolution breaking of their team and the devil and his team dominating them.

Not only was the devil’s team more in quantity, but their unmatched power was making them unbeatable.

It looked like a losing fight, even when it was just starting.

They needed heavy reinforcements as soon as possible or things would turn uglier for them.

The witches were helping them bring the wolves and other members of the species by teleportation, but this was weakening them against the witch’s attack from the devil’s side.

The angel who had been helping earlier also left to retrieve the gadget to kill the devil.

Their team’s morale was going down, and they looked at each other, unsure how to bring it up.

They were about to form a strategy when they noticed that the team was suddenly fighting back with a newfound energy, and they looked back at them in amazement.

What was the source of their new motivation?

They turned to the center of the war scene where it looked like a massacre was happening, and their eyes widened when they saw both Maverick and Valencia acting like a death machine as they ripped the people’s limbs and heads, pulling their hearts out to kill the devil.

Within two minutes, they killed ten people each. No wonder people were getting motivated seeing them.

"They are doing the right thing. So what if we don’t have any strategies and can’t develop one? We have to fight all of them, and thus, we have to kill everyone that would appear before us," Cassandra said, and the other Lycans agreed as they started attacking the devil’s team more ferociously than before.

The devil who was having fun earlier saw that his team was starting to lose its dominating power and couldn’t help but chuckle.

"Helio, Slithering, show me what you’ve got," The devil, Raqtasura, said as he raised his hand and spread his palms.

Blood drops from his hand were sprayed on the people before him, and those blood drops acted like mini insects were eating people from inside.

Their screams became more blood curling, making him even more bloodthirsty than before.

Maverick watched Helio and Slithering, who were using their slime form and blinding the people on their teams that were getting them killed.

Within a couple of seconds he witnessed the death of more than twenty people because of this trick.

He immediately signalled Shadow, and the man turned to his wolf form.

He brought out some greyish liquid in large buckets.

Maverick didn’t want to risk the lives of the people on his team because he didn’t know just how powerful Helio and Slithering were.

Thus, he snuck the attack himself and threw the grey liquid on the two of them.

Helio and Slithering, who were busy making use of their slimy form and blinding people and launching sneaky attacks, froze in their place when they felt the cemented liquid dripping down their body.

Valencia turned to her left and saw what Maverick did.

A smirk appeared on her face, and she looked towards the sky.

"Happy!" she shouted. The ancient bird, which had been hiding on Valencia’s orders from the beginning, appeared and used its fire to burn Helio and Slithering.

Since their slimy forms were covered in cement, it was much easier to burn them to death now.

Seeing the death of two of his most important and trustworthy subordinates, who had done so much for his awakening and even planning the attack of a phoenix blood pack to abduct Valencia and gather everything, Devil felt truly angry this time.

"You!" The devil raised his hand to grab Happy, but Valencia lifted the hunter in her hand and threw it toward the devil’s hand to stop him from grabbing her bird.

The devil froze when the hunter grabbed its hand.

It was hard for him to believe that a hunter could grab him.

"What are you playing at, Valencia?" The devil asked.

How come these people have a counter for everything he has prepared? Not only were they fighting back his team, which he thought was more than enough to attack them, but they even managed to kill Helio and Slithering, someone even the angels couldn’t manage to hurt in all these years.

Why were they so thoroughly prepared even when it was a surprise attack?

Maverick watched Valencia losing her energy and knowing how she would need to conserve all her energy if she wanted to kill the devil; he was about to step ahead and help Valencia to the backside when the devil reacted first, and he lifted Valencia with his free hand.

Everyone widened their eyes while Valencia’s heart skipped a beat. Her hand instinctively went to her abdomen to protect her baby from whatever attack the devil was planning on her.

"I was having fun until now, but I’ll have to show you guys what you have gotten yourself into. Do you think killing me would be so easy?" The devil asked, slamming Valencia on the nearby tree, making her cough blood.

"Valencia!" Maverick growled.

Reaper howled as he saw his mate in the clutches of the devil.

"I will kill you," Reaper shouted.

Without thinking twice about whether he would be able to affect him, kill him or not, Reaper jumped on the devil, wanting to do anything that would make the devil leave his mate.

Seeing her mate risking his life and being so helpless against it, Valencia tried to stand from her place when the devil left her, her energy suddenly feeling depleted.

She looked at the devil and realized that he had sucked some of her energy when he grabbed her and slammed her on the tree.

With her staggering form, Valencia stood with the tree’s support as she saw Reaper attacking the devil.

She closed her eyes briefly before opening them, looking around as she saw everyone fighting for their lives.

She knew she needed to do something when she saw Reaper struggling against the devil., but with her helpless, powerless form, what could she do?
