Beast Alpha and His Cursed Luna -
Chapter 350: Not easily killed
Chapter 350: Not easily killed
THIRD PERSON’S POV
Valencia stood from her place. Her body was not fully transformed, but there were physical changes that everyone could see, which were taking place slowly.
Her ears were pointed like those of a Caracal, and her nails were extended almost to the point of looking like paws. A white tail with silver-pointed fur wagged from her tailbone while her eyes...
Maverick’s team members looked at the woman before them in pure surprise.
One of her eyes was completely golden, while the other eye was completely gray.
She looked like another form of devil, the good bit more lethal kind.
A train of cloth kind of thing appeared on her back, and she looked ethereal.
It was clear that her transformation wasn’t complete and was happening slowly but this half-transformation...
"What is happening here? Oh, if this isn’t the girl we wanted to kill. The girl who ruined my life. What are you here for? Looking for your man that we buried long ago?" Ethan, who woke up from his deep slumber after getting some antidotes, walked and looked at the girl with long wavy hair with her back to him.
He looked at her tail and furrowed his brows. Wasn’t she supposed to be a lantern?
However, his surprise came a bit too late as everyone saw a weird smile appearing on Valencia’s face that looked almost maniacal.
"Ethan," Valencia’s words were cold, and Ethan froze.
This didn’t sound like Valencia’s voice. It was almost as if someone possessed her.
Ethan stepped back, unsure, but it was too late.
Within a second, Valencia appeared before him.
"Where is Maverick?" she asked, tilting her head at him.
Ethan gulped.
"M-maverick? I d-don’t-" Ethan couldn’t complete his sentence.
In the next moment, Valencia grabbed his hair in a fist and yanked his head up, decapitating him. His body fell to the ground with a loud thud.
Blood splashed everywhere on her body, and with the blood drops that appeared on her face, she licked them profusely.
With Ethan’s hand still dangling in her hands, Valencia turned to the group of people.
"Did no one ever tell him I don’t like liars?" Valencia asked.
No one dared to utter a word. Their heartbeats were frantic.
Valencia threw the head away like it was a mere ball before she stepped over the dead body, looking like the goddess of death.
"Aurora, this is your last chance. Where is Maverick?" Valencia asked Aurora, who smirked back.
"Let’s look for him together," Aurora said, giving Valencia another dose of her energy.
Valencia’s knees buckled, and she fell on her feet again.
This time she didn’t scream immediately.
Her fists clenched on the blood-stained soil before she screamed.
"Aa!" Valencia screamed, blood flowing out of her mouth.
Her body felt like it was being twisted into weird shapes, even when it was just like it was, while a wave of heat spread across her limbs, and her skin started cracking even more.
"Luna-" stepped forward, but Shadow held his hand.
"Are you out of your mind? She clearly needs our help. Let’s take her to the doctor. Something is not right with her. She is in so much pain," Liam commented.
Shadow pressed his lips into a thin line.
"You can’t do anything when she is transforming like this. Your interruption will only make her uneasy and discomfort her wolf, which would make things worse for her," Shadow said.
"Are you ready for the final course of the transformation, Valencia?" Aurora asked to confirm one last time.
She never thought twice before releasing her entire energy into the human body she was living in, but this was the first time she had become so attached to a human, even close to experiencing motherhood, and she wanted to give one last chance to Valencia. Not to mention, this might be the last chance for her.
Valencia, who was trembling terribly in her place, blood dripping from the corner of her mouth, nodded her head.
If this transformation would help her find Maverick and save his life, she was ready to do it.
"I just wish that you give me enough time to save Maverick," Valencia said.
Seeing her love for Maverick, Aurora felt her eyes brimming with tears before she hardened her resolve since Valencia didn’t think about herself or her altogether.
She nodded before raising her hand and plunging her hand straight through her chest.
Collective gasps could be heard around the area where the transformation was happening.
"Valencia!" Axile and Theo shouted together.
What was she doing? Was she plunging her heart out of her chest? The site left everyone baffled.
Valencia smiled as she felt the last beat of her heart before Aurora forced her to clench her hand around her heart to stop the beats.
It was beyond painful, and her breathing stopped for a couple of seconds.
Aurora took a deep breath. This was the second last control she had.
’She is dying,’ Aurora’s words slipped as she talked to no one in particular.
’Not yet,’ Valencia said, speaking even with her hand clenching against her heart as she coughed more blood.
Aurora widened her eyes.
Was Valencia able to take this heart-wrenching pain?
’I told you. I am quite thick-skinned to be killed by a mere transformation,’ Valencia said before she forced the powers at the back of her mind with all her willpower, pulling her hand out of her chest.
Her blood splashed around, and she stood, stumbling forward.
’Now take me to Maverick,’ Valencia said.
Aurora’s eyes brimmed with tears.
She raised both hands, and the final transformation occurred as soon as she did it.
Valencia’s body, which was in human form, immediately turned to a large white wolf with golden-colored paws and ears still that of a Caracal. Her eyes remained a mixture of gray and golden, while her tail became even more furred.
She was a beautiful creature, one of the rarest in the history of the werewolf species.
Aurora took a step forward, landing on her paws for the first time in her eleven reincarnations, and the feeling filled her heart with joy.
However, it wasn’t the time to celebrate her transformation. She knew she couldn’t stay in this form for so long. Valencia wasn’t strong enough to take the transformation for extended periods.
Aurora immediately dashed towards the direction where she felt a little sense of maverick.
It was an area near the lake.
Aurora reached out and looked around, heightening her senses. However, no matter how hard she looked, she couldn’t find Maverick, and anger took over her.
She walked to the lake and looked at her reflection in the water.
’The deities of the water bodies, I summon you to tell me where my mate wolf is?’ Aurora said to the water as Valencia was rendered unconscious, breathing heavily in her head space.
The water in the lake suddenly started to rise, and Aurora watched closely for any signal they would make.
However, the only signal she got was the cracking of the earth at some distance. Her eyes widened at the realization, and a howl left her mouth.
So it was there that they buried her man?
Without wasting her time, she reached the area, ready to dig the ground with her paws, but the water from the lake suddenly turned into a sharp stream and attacked the area, digging it like sharp blades.
Aurora looked at the lake, and just as she had guessed, she saw a lady dressed in a water gown, streams flowing down her feet.
"I will always stay grateful to you," Aurora said to the water deity.
"It’s my honor to be able to help the favorite child of the ultimate goddess," The water deity said before vanishing.
The coffin in which Maverick was thrown and buried came up, and Aurora didn’t waste a second breaking it.
The members of the dark Callsit pack who had followed her and reached the place just in time to see their Alpha rolling from inside the coffin with his hands and legs tied with silver chains, rendering him unable to move, looked at Aurora warily as she stood on top of him with her paws on either side of him.
It was almost as if she was protecting her man. Without caring about the silver, she removed the chains from her snout, the sizzling sound of the flesh burning least affecting her.
Finally able to breathe, Maverick opened his eyes, his gaze meeting Aurora’s golden and gray eyes.
He widened his eyes because he could sense some familiarity from the wolf, but what shocked him next was the word that left Reaper’s mouth.
"Mate!"
