Beast Alpha and His Cursed Luna -
Chapter 348: Valencia’s helplessness
Chapter 348: Valencia’s helplessness
THIRD PERSON’S POV
"Luna, where are you going alone? That is a red zone. We can’t go inside without special permission from the alphas of the tri-eye trinity. It’s a no man’s land that falls between three major packs, and it can draw controversies," Liam said to Valencia.
Since they knew that Alpha Maverick had gone to the southern regions, it was easy for them to know which forest was shown in the photos.
The forest was an hour away from the palace.
"Does it look like I care?" Valencia asked.
Her words shocked everyone on the scene.
"Even if you don’t care, Valencia, you must at least think about the pack. You are the announced Luna of the dark Callisto pack. If something were to happen and the alphas took offense, then the pack would be affected," Axile tried to explain to her.
Valencia nodded at all the people surrounding her.
"I know what’s happening. None of you want to help me find my alpha. But unlike you guys, I am not a coward. I am very much capable of finding my man and bringing him out of anywhere safe and sound. No need for your help," Valencia said, her eyes red with anger and fear for Maverick.
Axile sighed. He could see she was getting emotional; honestly, her emotions were justified at this point, but...
"You don’t understand –" Charlotte started to explain to Valencia, but she shook her head.
Her powers, being defied like this, started to take offense, and her bluish-gray eyes began to shine a little.
"You don’t understand. Even if that place is protected and forbidden, we have every right to intervene if rogues are operating there. The royalty and the council have every right to intervene. Is that so hard to understand?" Valencia asked.
Everyone finally understood what she was trying to explain and nodded.
She was right. It wasn’t about the pack members invading their area. It was about the rogues being there and threatening the security of the royal palace and members of the dark Callisto pack along with those three packs.
The rogues deliberately chose that hiding place because they knew people barely checked it.
Valencia looked at everyone around herself and smirked.
"You guys can wallow in doubts and questions. I have my man to save, and I will do everything in my power to save him if it means I must bring the angels to Earth and the witches out of their covens," Valencia said.
Since the witches and angels needed her to stay alive to be able to kill the devil, she was sure they wouldn’t let her die so easily at the hands of some rogue.
With this confidence, she snatched the keys of one of the security chiefs who was just entering the palace.
He looked at Luna Valencia, surprised, unsure what was going on.
Her actions left everyone flabbergasted, but by the time they could react, she was already inside the car, pressing her foot on the acceleration paddle.
Within thirty minutes of driving the car at 160mph, she reached the forests and didn’t waste a second running inside them.
She couldn’t afford to call Maverick’s name, as she didn’t want to attract rogues before she could find her man.
The team from the royalty, other alphas, and Lunas, who had reached the palace and wanted to help her find alpha Maverick since the duo had done a lot for them, also reached the forests to help them.
The thick scent of blood wafted through Valencia’s nostrils as carried by the wind, and it made her vomit the content of her evening snacks.
The skin on her hands cracked even more, and she didn’t know much about it, thinking it was just a pregnancy side effect.
She rushed further inside the forests. It took her only a few minutes to reach the site where the rogues were killed, and her team was still struggling against them.
Valencia watched everything from afar. Since her scent was faint, only traced by Maverick, no one noticed her, and Valencia gulped, looking around to see where Maverick was.
As much as she wanted to help Shadow and the others, she would be helpless against so many rogues. Thus, leaving the task to the team who followed her was the best choice for her.
It was far more important for her to see where Maverick was.
’Aurora, where is Maverick? Why can’t I feel him? Even with the mark bond, I can’t find him. There is no way he isn’t here when his entire team is fighting to death,’ Valencia said to Aurora.
However, much to her surprise, Aurora went silent at this crucial time.
Valencia’s heart trembled as she looked for Maverick among all the dead bodies that were cast aside, trying her best to stay hidden behind the trees.
She saw Liam and the team reaching out and helping Shadow and others. She was about to move away to look for Maverick, among others, when Shadow’s words stopped her.
"They took away our alpha, Liam. They drugged him and used underhanded tricks to take him away. Go find him. They were talking about burying him alive," Shadow said.
Valencia froze in her place as she heard his words.
Drugged him? Burying him alive?
He was the beast alpha. There was no way he lost to a rogue head of a fake prince. Just what did they do to him? How disturbed did they play with him to render him helpless like that? Valencia gritted her teeth.
The scent of fresh blood was already making her mind go haywire, and with this kind of news, how was she supposed to keep her sanity?
"Happy!" Valencia raised her voice, and Shadow shook in his place. He turned around and looked at Valencia, whose eyes were glowing more than before.
"Have you lost your mind, Liam? Why did you bring her here?" Shadow asked, the events from the last time she lost control still fresh in his mind.
"I didn’t bring her. She brought us here," Liam answered as they started fighting against the rogues.
Soon the bird made its way to Valencia, and she ordered it to find where Maverick was.
Valencia herself started looking for Maverick, accompanied by Lovely and Charlotte, but to no avail. They were unable to find where he went.
Seeing Happy fly helplessly and not returning with any plausible answer, Valencia’s anxiousness grew.
She grabbed the locket she was wearing, which had been given to her by those mainland witches and belonged to the angels.
She tried calling the angels or the witches to help her find Maverick, but no one came.
A bitter expression covered her face. Right. Why would they come and help her? It wasn’t her whose life was in danger. As long as she was alive, nothing happening in her life mattered to them.
’Aurora, where are you when I need you the most? Didn’t you say you love Maverick and Reaper? Where are you hiding like a bitch when they need you the most? I know you can find him. Come fucking out!’ Valencia roared in pure agony.
Every minute away from him was a minute of torture for Maverick and the thought of being so helpless for him when he had everything in his power, time after time, to help her.
Valencia clenched her fists at the thought that no one was helping her, even her own wolf, who was turning against her.
She knew Aurora was listening to her. She knew this blood was making her haywire, and Aurora was holding onto the last shred to keep them in control, but she didn’t want this control. If anything happened to Maverick today, she would die. What was the use of this control and life?
Left with no hope or help from any side, Valencia took a deep breath before resorting to her last measure.
"Aurora," her words were loud enough for everyone to hear.
She wasn’t talking in her head anymore. She wanted nature to hear her words as much as her wolf.
"I have never pleaded with you to come out and take control of me and help me with something so earnestly. This time, it’s about the man I love and can give away my life for," Valencia said, taking a deep breath.
"If you don’t come out within five minutes, I, Valencia Phoenix, the daughter of the moon goddess, will reject you as my wolf," Valencia said, and everyone widened their eyes.
She just didn’t...
Even Aurora, who had never expected Valencia to say such words, stood there, shocked, the threads of control finally slipping from her hand.
"What did you say? You will reject me? You will only lose me with your death. My arrival, that’s what you have always wanted, no? Here it is." Aurora’s words turned cold and void of emotion before she looked into the sky; the full moon was starting to appear.
