Beast Alpha and His Cursed Luna
Chapter 330: Scarf

Chapter 330: Scarf

THIRD PERSON’S POV

"Miss Valencia, Alpha Maverick, how can I show you my appreciation for bringing my son back to me?" King David asked Valencia, and she sighed.

Honestly, she was least concerned or bothered about his so-called appreciation. These people were selfish, and she didn’t want to have any connection with them.

"You don’t have to," Valencia said.

"Hm?" King David asked, confused.

However, rather than answering him, Valencia looked at Maverick for help.

The man could see his woman was irritated, and he rolled his eyes at King David’s useless efforts.

"She means to say that you don’t need to appreciate us. Valencia considered Axile her friend, and that’s why she felt obliged to help him, not because she wanted to help someone who wanted to kill her," Maverick wasn’t cautious of his words either.

Axile looked at his father and sister when he learned that they wanted to kill Valencia and stepped a little away from them subconsciously.

King David didn’t miss the change in his son’s eyes and body language and felt remorseful.

"Miss Valencia, I know we have wronged you. Since Alpha Maverick has always been the strongest wolf and Ethan was an illegitimate son, he feared that Maverick would jeopardize his throne and position. Alpha Maverick is insanely in love with you, and to put him down, he thought killing you would be most effective," King David explained.

Valencia scoffed.

She didn’t want to mock and hurt anyone but found their two-faced nature quite amusing.

"It means you will come and attack again if your legal son feels the same," She said.

Before King David could say anything, Axile shook his head and looked at Valencia.

"I will never do anything to hurt you, Valencia. You have saved me in the past. You brought me back from not only death but a path where I was losing myself. I told you, didn’t I? I owe this life to you. Now that you have helped me meet my family and given a home to this orphan, I will forever be indebted to you," Axile said before he grabbed a random soldier’s sword.

He got on his right knee and extended the sword towards Valencia, putting her above himself.

"You will always be my idol," Axile said, his eyes unwavering.

Seeing their boss being so respectful to this girl they had suspected time after time, Vincent and Alok got on their knees too and extended their swords towards Valencia.

The rest of the rogues followed, and Valencia sighed.

"Don’t put on a show and get up. If you think I will go on a date just because you are doing all this, you are wrong," Valencia said.

Axile raised his brows at her.

"How did you know I was aiming for that?" He asked, faking his surprise, and everyone chuckled.

Valencia rolled her eyes before sighing.

"I have other matters to attend to. I am not lashing out and calm even after learning the truth because Alpha Maverick has marked me. Any trouble from my side will be put on him too, or I would’ve shown you guys what happens when you plan to kill me," Valencia looked at Dilbar and King David, who looked down, ashamed.

"I am sorry, Valencia. There is nothing I can do to change the past, but I promise you that you will never have a complaint or threat from my side. I might be wishful, but I also respect relations. You are marked now, and I won’t pursue Alpha Maverick. Besides, you helped my family, and for that, you have all my respect," Dilbar said.

Valencia tilted her head as she looked at the girl.

"I don’t trust you," she said bluntly.

Dilbar sighed dejectedly and nodded in understanding.

Hoot! Hoot!

Happy looked up, and Valencia looked down at her pet before pressing her lips into a thin line.

"I will deal with you later," She said.

Hoot! Hoot!

The bird pouted before hiding its face in her chest, and Maverick rolled his eyes.

"Hey, get off her. That’s my place," Maverick grabbed Happy and tried to pull him off Valencia, who tightened his feet and dug his nails into Valencia’s top.

Hoot!

Happy shouted as if he was wronged, and Valencia blushed scarlet at Maverick’s words.

Seriously? Was he saying all those words in the presence of so many people?

"Maverick," Valencia whispered, scolding him, and Maverick huffed loudly, leaving the bird in her arms.

Shadow, forced on his knees earlier, looked at their Luna and felt slightly unsure. Was she the same woman about to blow up this entire place earlier and all the wolves were wary of?

He was about to remind their alpha that they needed to leave when, out of the blue, they saw the three witches appear in the Kingdom.

Valencia looked at the three mainland witches and groaned inwardly.

She knew they were here because she let go of her control for some time and almost jeopardized her safety.

"Don’t groan. We are here to check up on you," Mrinalini said before she nodded at King David.

King David had met the three mainland witches because of the interspecies meeting, but Dilbar, who was new to this stuff, looked at them in pure amazement.

"Extend your hand," Mrinalini said, looking at Happy with a weird expression. Valencia narrowed her brows.

"Is this the attitude of someone who wants to check up on me?" Valencia asked.

"What?" Mrinalini asked.

"You heard me. I didn’t call you here. You came here yourself, probably out of duty because those angels gave you some kind of responsibility. So please refrain from showing me any attitude because it won’t look good if I show some," Valencia gave them a fake smile.

Since she has come to terms with how important she is because she needed to kill some devil and probably die, Valencia isn’t afraid of saying what is on her mind anymore.

"You–" Mrinalini started, but Miranda interrupted.

"Please extend your hand, Valencia," Miranda stepped forward.

Valencia extended her hand, taking Happy in her left hand.

Miranda closed her eyes, feeling the complication in Valencia’s emotions and powers and Aurora’s haggard appearance, and sighed.

"What have you been doing for real?" Miranda asked before she placed her hand on Valencia’s head to calm her and energize Aurora, who looked like she had just returned from some kind of Marathon.

"Everything is fine except that you have gained more control over your powers, which is good," Miranda said.

Valencia nodded and was about to pull her hand back when Miranda tightened her hold.

"Have you guys not realized it yet?" she asked Valencia and Maverick, but seeing both were oblivious, she sighed and shook her head.

"Realised what?" Valencia, the curious one, asked. Miranda shook her head, telling her they’d find out about it later.

Valencia was about to scoff and ask why she mentioned it if she didn’t intend to elaborate when Axile stepped forward.

"Valencia," He called out to her, gaining everyone’s attention.

"What is it?" Valencia asked with a soft smile, her expression contrasting to when she was talking to the royals.

"I have your scarf. Honestly speaking, I always had it with me. From the day you gave it to me and told me how important it was for you, I didn’t let it out of my sight. I told you I didn’t have it because I wanted to have more reasons to see you, but now that you have found your love, I have no right to intervene," Axile walked forward and pulled out the scarf that Valencia had tied on his wounds.

Valencia looked at the familiar scarf with a smile, opening it as she caressed its softness.

She took a whiff of the cloth, the softness making her remember how her grandmother used to love her before she died.

"This was given to me by my grandmother," Valencia said to Maverick, who smiled at her.

"Can I see it?" he asked. Valencia gently placed the scarf on his palm as if she was afraid it would tear with little movement.

However, as soon as she did that, Miranda held the scarf.

"This scarf... this pattern..." She froze, her eyes wide, and the three sisters walked forward to see what it was.

They looked at the scarf before looking at each other.

Valencia rolled her eyes.

She could see what was coming next. This scarf probably contained some kind of information about her curse or a cure because it was with her from the day she was born and was actually given to her grandmother by her mother.

However, knowing what kind of nature these witches had, they wouldn’t tell her anything and just say she would see the truth when the time came. It was nothing she was starting to hate.

If they had told her a few things earlier, every day wouldn’t have appeared like a new exploration of her life.

"These flowers on the scarf are not ordinary. They contain the toxins that can kill the devil," Miranda said, much to Valencia’s surprise. She looked at the flowers she was pointing at.

As soon as she saw the flowers, her brows furrowed before her pupils dilated. Weren’t these the same flowers...?
