Beast Alpha and His Cursed Luna -
Chapter 248: Flowers related to the curse
Chapter 248: Flowers related to the curse
VALENCIA’S POV
"Why is she not awake yet?"
"I don’t know,"
"I swear I was scared when I saw her like that,"
I heard whispers around me, making me furrow my brows.
My head felt effortless, as if someone hammered my skull.
’Are you okay?’ Aurora’s voice entered my head, and I scowled at her.
’So you are finally speaking. What the hell happened?’ I asked her, but seeing her go silent again, I knew she didn’t want to talk about it. I didn’t want to waste my time asking her, either.
There were already a few people I needed to interact with.
Opening my eyes gently, wincing at the light, I was about to ask what was wrong when Dylan hovered over me, blocking the light from hurting my eyes. I smiled at him gratefully.
"What happened?" He directly asked.
"Shouldn’t you be asking if I was alright rather than asking me what happened? You don’t love me anymore," I pouted.
Dylan didn’t say anything and just kept glaring at me. Seeing that my humor wasn’t well received, I stopped being funny and sighed before telling them I didn’t really have any idea what exactly happened.
One moment, I was about to dial Mavericks’ number and the next, my vision was darkening. It didn’t give me any chance to call for anyone’s help, if that made sense.
I watched Jonathan, Mason, Carl, Dylan, and Aarav, who were standing in my room, look at me as if I were some sick patient. I was about to ask them what was wrong before Uncle Jonathan walked over to me.
"Aarav told me you have been spending an atrocious amount of time near the fields," Jonathan said, and I was about to tell him they were lovely when I felt his presence.
My heart skipped a beat immediately, and a blush rose on my cheeks as I realized how much I missed his presence.
"Alpha Maverick is here, isn’t he?" I asked rather than answering, and as soon as I said those words, a guard knocked on the door of my room.
"Sir, Alpha Maverick has arrived," the guard said, and everyone looked back at me, making me smile sheepishly.
"I can’t believe you guys haven’t marked each other yet," Uncle Jonathan said, and I blushed even harder at his words.
Was it really weird that I could feel his presence from so far? However, I don’t feel his presence when he is somewhere around me.
Does it have anything to do with the fact that my heart was missing him terribly?
"Can you guys not tell him about this unconscious event? I haven’t said a word about it to him yet. Let me figure out what is happening, and I will tell him myself," I said.
My man was already struggling with the rogues and their battles. The last thing I wanted for him was to worry about my health.
Besides, with no idea what was going on, I would just be adding more to his plate. I want to lessen his burden rather than become a burden on him myself.
"Fine. We will have a good talk about it after the ceremony," Dylan said, and I nodded in understanding.
They left one by one, and I looked at Uncle Jonathan, who seemed to have something to say.
"What is it?" I asked him.
"We still don’t know what those plants are, but I remember your father saying that he was planting them for you. At that time, you were only in your mother’s womb. But he still planted those plants for you and took a promise from me that I will always take care of them for you," Uncle Jonathan said.
I didn’t know what he was trying to say here.
Was he indirectly telling me that all of this was happening because I was spending more time near those flowers? Were those flowers harmful to me? But if that was the case, why did my father plant them in my name in the first place?
There is no way my father wanted to harm me. It is obviously for my benefit, but what kind of benefit? Even Aurora was silent about the matter, not telling me what was happening, and it was becoming hard to decipher things now.
"It might be something related to the curse. Your mom and dad knew about the curse way before because of her grandmother, who actually took the curse and passed it through the generations," Uncle Jonathan paused.
"Actually, what happened was..." he started before shaking his breath.
He told me that it wasn’t the correct time to discuss such things, and I nodded in understanding.
More than half of the alphas were already here, and the rest were coming. He needed to be down there to attend to those alphas rather than discussing some kind of curse with me, which we can do any other time.
I took a deep breath and nodded at him.
"I won’t allow Alpha Maverick to come here for obvious reasons. I heard what happened in the hall between Matilda and you," Uncle Jonathan said.
’Who is he to decide whether we can meet our man or not?’ Aurora didn’t like the arrangement.
I told her he was our uncle before asking Uncle Jonathan why he didn’t want Maverick to meet me.
"Don’t you understand? I am not stopping you guys from meeting, but not alone in a room like this. Not after what you said to Matilda. If Alpha Maverick came here to meet you when everyone knows what is happening between you, wouldn’t people spread rumors? He hasn’t marked you yet," Uncle Jonathan said.
’But he has already announced to the world that we are his woman and the one person he will marry and make his Luna,’ Aurora retorted.
I didn’t say anything to Uncle Jonathan and just smiled at him.
"Okay, I understand," I said, knowing all too well how tough this job of him stopping away from me would be for him.
I know they won’t be able to stop him, but I didn’t want to take away that benefit of doubt from them either.
"I will get changed in some time," I told him and he nodded before saying a few words about who I should call someone. I felt the same dizziness again before he left.
I took a deep breath before looking at Aurora.
’Aren;t you being quite verbal today?’ I sighed, looking at my phone that had a missed call from our man already.
