Beast Alpha and His Cursed Luna
Chapter 211: Did she miss him?

Chapter 211: Did she miss him?

THIRD PERSON’S POV

The alpha of the Caribbean’s Den Pack looked at the girl before him, slightly unsure if he should be praising her bravery when she was standing against him.

This was the first time he had met someone as daring as her, who had come inside the pack and taken such a big risk for someone else’s life.

He would’ve still believed it if this was about a mate bond. However, from the last experience, he knew she wasn’t his mate, so what was the case?

If she was telling the truth and she was indeed the daughter of the infamous Luna of the Phoenix blood pack, she was beyond mysterious.

Yes, he knew a little about spirits. As the forest spirits protected them, his work as an Alpha was considerably less than that of the other alphas who had to battle with the rogues and other packs to keep their power.

He and his ancestors never had to struggle for such things. Thus, most of his time has been spent reading and collecting knowledge.

It was a lie that the people of this pack never walked out of the forbidden forests. They were the ones who spread news like that to keep things in check.

In fact, every now and then, a team is sent out in hiding along with the alpha and beta to check how things are going outside and if they want to incorporate anything new in their pack.

Finding a mate was indeed a big deal for them. It was funny how he had been abiding by the forest spirits’ rules for so long, and yet when an infiltrator like her came who challenged his authority directly, the spirits went silent.

There were so many times when he asked the spirits to lay down a few customary corrections and waive a few rules, especially when it came to mates, but he never got a reply as a result.

They only get a timely abundance of whatever they need to survive inside the pack.

What was so special about this girl in precisely that way that even the spirits didn’t want to mess with her?

The alpha of the pack kept looking at the girl with a curious gaze for a few seconds before sighing.

"Nothing can be done. No matter whose daughter you are or who you belong to. A rule in a rule. You dared to cross the boundaries when you shouldn’t have. We can’t be partial to you just because you are Luna’s daughter," the alpha of the pack said.

Valencia looked at the man before herself and tightened her hold on the sword she got from the beta.

A man rushed from the dungeons to the alpha and whispered something in his ears.

Valencia didn’t need to know what he must’ve told him.

It was definitely about the beta whose fingers she sliced earlier.

"Valencia," Theo tried to coax her.

They would at least let go of the girl if he begged a little and went against his morals.

"I am ready to fight for us," Valencia stated clearly, and Theo sighed.

He took a shaky breath and tightened his hold on the sword.

Even when it was practically hard for him to stand straight, he was ready to fight back beside his boss too.

Valencia wasn’t in the mood to joke any more. She knew this was serious, and she might lose her life.

Her hand instinctively went to her pendant, and she smiled at it.

’Aurora, can I trust you to become a soul and inform everyone what happened to me here? Though I have told Dylan about it, I still... About Maverick..." Valencia stopped speaking.

At this moment, when she knew she would barely make it out alive, seeing the cast of people she had to fight against, she realized one thing.

She didn’t like Maverick.

She was falling for the man.

Her lips trembled, and she took a deep breath.

She had turned her phone on when she had almost crossed the forbidden forests in case she needed someone to help carry Theo.

As strong as she was, Theo was a big man, and she wasn’t sure if she could carry him all the way to the hotel.

Valencia took a deep breath.

She pulled her phone out of her pocket and dialed the man’s number, hoping he would pick it up.

The Caribbean’s Den Pack alpha looked at her with furrowed brows.

Was she here with a backup army waiting outside? Did the forest spirits finally betray them?

’There is no army,’ The man who had been guarding the outside area immediately mind-linked and informed their alpha, making the man sigh in relief, who kept looking at the girl, unsure what was happening.

If there was no army outside, does that mean she was calling someone to say her last words? Has she finally realized that it is her end?

A smirk appeared on his face as he looked at the girl, and Theo looked at Valencia in confusion.

She usually turns off her phone during her mission.

Was she calling Tory to give some kind of last order?

Valencia waited for the man to pick up, and after waiting for a few seconds, the man finally picked up.

"Hello?" His voice was cold, coming out in short gasps as if he was busy with some strenuous activity.

"Alpha Maverick, how can you say that?"

On the other hand, Valencia heard a female’s voice and froze in her place.

This was the first time she had heard a female voice near Maverick, and she was instantly filled with jealousy.

The thought of him talking to another woman and getting angry over it was hypocritical, given how many guys she interacts with daily, even when the conversation is related to her work.

"Shut the fuck up and get lost!" Maverick said, and Valencia’s brows twitched.

"Yes, Mitsuki. Have you eaten?" Maverick asked, thinking she called him because she was bored or wanted to hear him.

Valencia sighed.

She wanted to say so many things at the moment and promised so many things to him. Things like, if she came out of the mission alive, she would kiss, hug, and fuck him or confess her feelings to him, but after hearing his voice, she didn’t know how to say it anymore.

"I have never met a colder alpha than you. You are so ruthless and unbeatable, but I still have you under my fingers, dancing in my tone," Valencia said.

Maverick - "..."

Reaper narrowed his brows, an amused smile appearing on his face nonetheless.

"And I suppose this is a compliment?" Maverick asked awkwardly.

"If I come out of this mission, you are treating me to a feast," Valencia blabbered.

"I will treat you to a feast anytime, baby," Maverick said, making her heart skip a beat.

"Well, good for you because if you don’t, I won’t give you what you love the most," Valencia said before she ended the call.

Maverick - "..."

He looked at the end call with a peculiar expression before tilting his head.

He walked out of the balcony and opened the door to enter the room where they were holding a meeting.

Around eight alphas were seated around the round table, and they looked at his troubled expression, a little confused.

They heard his outburst when he was disturbed talking on a call and pitied the girl who went to call him, but they did not know who exactly had this kind of reaction from him.

Could it be that girl he had brought to the dance party?

"Girlfriend problems?" One of the alphas casually asked to lighten the mood, and Maverick looked up from his phone.

"She said I am the coldest and unbeatable alpha she met. When she returns from the mission, I should treat her to a feast, or things will be bad," Maverick said, hiding some things that were better kept private because he didn’t want anyone to know how cute his woman was.

"She is aggressively showing you that she misses you," one of the alphas said, and Maverick looked at him, interested in what he said.

Does Valencia miss him? His eyes beamed slightly, an expression that amazed the alphas who tried their best not to get casual with the beast Alpha as they couldn’t afford to provoke him either.

"What do you mean?" Maverick asked.

The alpha looked at others before clearing his throat.

"I might be wrong, but how much I have studied my wife and how she acts, that’s what I can decipher. There is no reason for her to call you to tell you how cold you are and want a feast from you out of the blue when she is in the middle of a mission that you said. It means she missed you but did not want you to know about it," The alpha said.

Maverick remembered everything they talked about, and a smile appeared on his face.

She misses him.

That was good.

Amelia, who was the girl who got scolded by the alpha for the first time because she asked him how he could leave a meeting where they were discussing new plans on how to handle the rogues because someone was calling him, looked at the rare smile on her Alpha’s face and knew things were getting out of hand.

Her expression contorted, and she clenched her fingers.
