Chapter 196: Breaking Tyler’s jaws

THIRD PERSON’S POV

"Get out of my way, you animal!" Alpha Tyler roared in anger when he immediately felt the loss of Valencia’s presence.

It could only mean she ran away again. He needed to find him before Alpha Maverick discovered what happened at the security circle.

The jaguar didn’t judge from its place and kept looking at him with an unwavering and relentless gaze.

Alpha Tyler, left with no choice, turned into his wolf form and jumped into the air, ready to fight the Jaguar so he could run towards Valencia quickly, but before he could even touch the Jaguar, his body was thrown to the side by a powerful push that made him hit the tree and fall on the ground, the impact almost breaking his ribs.

"Rrrrrr!" The loud growl echoed in the silent forest, and the sleeping birds flew away in fear.

Maverick’s chest heaved up and down as he looked at Alpha Tyler with a wave of carnal anger. He looked at the familiar Jaguar, who nodded at him as if he was telling him his work was done.

Before Maverick could react, it sped away.

He wasn’t the most important person here. Maverick glared at Alpha Tyler, his brows and eyes completely golden. His wolf was seething with suppressed anger.

"Where is she?" Maverick asked, his cold, dominant voice making Tyler look in another direction.

He didn’t want to submit to this alpha yet.

If he thought ignoring the question or the alpha, his death standing right before him, would help, Tyler didn’t know how wrong he was going to be proven.

Maverick was restless.

He had given one job to his women’s security team, and they couldn’t do it properly. Not only did they allow Tyler inside the security circle with half the information, but they couldn’t stop him when he started following Valencia.

His woman, who he promised would take care of, bled. She bled even when she wasn’t supposed to. The thick scent of her familiar blood that he had smelt too many times was all over the forest.

She had entrusted him with her safety, and he had failed her terribly, making her lose her mind.

He ruffled his hair angrily. He did not have that kind of patience.

"Where the fuck is she?" Maverick growled before he used his alpha speed, held Tyler by his collar, and lifted him in the air.

The earlier smug eyes were full of fear now.

"Alpha Maverick, you can’t hurt your guests like this. You—" Tyler started to play the victim and alpha card as he was part of the alphas’ meeting, and technically, Maverick was supposed to protect him, not hurt him.

However, before he could even complete his sentence, Maverick scoffed loudly.

"To hell with the rules. I would handle everything later. Let the council and other packs oppose me. For her, I will kill them all. Now tell me where she has gone. Your next words will decide how your jaws will work for the rest of your life, Tyler," Maverick snarled lowly.

Tyler looked into the eyes of the alpha that only meant business and gulped.

Unsure of how to get out of the situation, he murmured one sentence he shouldn’t have.

"I rejected Valencia Brooklyn. She is my mate again. You have no right to come between me and my mate," Tyler said.

Maverick froze in his place.

What did this moron say he did? Did he reject the rejection? Maverick remembered how much hatred Valencia had in her heart for this man; for him to do this, he couldn’t even imagine what kind of pain she must be going through.

Not to mention, she had been running for so long. His body shook with anger, and he raised his fist before punching Tyler’s face.

Punch. Punch. Punch.

The smell of Alpha Tyler’s blood thickened as Maverick broke his nose before slamming him on the ground.

"How dare you cause her so much pain? How dare you try to take my woman away from me? She is mine!" Maverick growled in Tyler’s face, who was almost unconscious just because of his three punches.

However, that didn’t stop Maverick from hurting him more.

"Pull his tongue out. Rip that mouth he used to hurt our woman!" Reaper growled inside his head, and as unhinged and uncanny this thought was, Maverick didn’t see anything wrong with it.

He stopped hitting Tyler’s face and grabbed his jaws in a tight grip.

Even in his half-conscious state, Tyler knew what was going to happen, and he clenched his mouth shut, tears flowing from the corner of his eyes.

Maverick squared his jaws and pressed Tyler’s jaws harder. He would pull his tongue out even if he would have to top the lower jaw out of Tyler’s face.

His eyes started to turn dark as the beast inside him started to awaken.

As he pressed harder, Tyler’s jaw breaking echoed like music to his ears.

He was about to rip his jaws apart when the council members who had been following him, afraid he would do something to jeopardize the security and their power over the packs, reached the place.

They watched the scene in pure horror and rushed forward.

They couldn’t even risk talking him into it because Alpha Tyler would be jawless and probably lifeless by the time they ended their sentence.

"Alpha Maverick!" Jonathan held his hand about to Rip Tyler’s jaws and tried to pull him away from the alpha.

However, with the beast awakening inside him, it was practically impossible for them to do anything.

Jonathan looked at Dylan and Carl to help him along with Mason and Dyson.

All the people who had followed him, including a couple of mated alphas who hadn’t left yet and wanted to see what the matter was all about, collectively pulled Maverick away from Alpha Tyler, who was wailing in pain and barely able to cry because of his broken jaws.

"Leave me the fuck alone! How dare he! How dare he cause her pain!" Maverick growled, his growl making a few people shudder, but they helped the council nonetheless, hoping the council team would protect them from his wrath because they were alphas themselves.

Seeing Maverick still out of control, Jonathan wondered what they could do to avert his attention when his son spoke up.

"Alpha Maverick, we will handle Alpha Tyler later. Don’t you think you should rush to Valencia to see how she is doing? She must be in utter pain because of all the physical and internal pain. I can’t even imagine what she has suffered because of your failed security," Dylan glared at the alpha.

The other people wanted to praise him for his bravery as he dared to shout at Alpha Maverick even when he was almost in his beast form.

However, they also knew it was exactly what they needed because, in the next moment, Alpha Maverick stopped struggling against them and stepped back.

Right. How could he forget that he needed to ease the pain of his woman first? He failed her. He must find her soon and help her out.

Maverick shook his head and took another direction again, wanting to find Valencia.
