Beast Alpha and His Cursed Luna -
Chapter 185: The rogue wolf
Chapter 185: The rogue wolf
THIRD PERSON’S POV
Maverick kept looking at the place where Valencia was standing a few minutes ago and couldn’t help but sigh.
Was it supposed to be normal? The way Valencia was hitting Tyler, rather than feeling angry or annoyed, he was getting more aroused seeing her being so carnal like that.
"Grayson, take Alpha Tyler to the hospital before dropping him to the resting area," Maverick said after some time.
Alpha Tyler wiped the blood from the corner of his lips before smiling.
"She still has feelings for me. No matter how much she suppresses it, she never ceases to show them in the form of her anger," Alpha Tyler commented to Dylan, knowing well he has been her best supporter.
However, his words were taken most seriously by Alpha Maverick, who glared at Grayson.
Once the duo left, Maverick took a deep breath before looking into the direction Valencia left in.
"Are you not going to follow her?" Dylan asked Maverick, but the man said nothing for a few seconds.
"Did she love him a lot?" He asked instead.
"I wouldn’t call it love. He was her hero because she stopped her parents, who were about to kill her when she turned fourteen and didn’t turn into a wolf. Tyler was in a relationship with her sister all the time. He knew Valencia was his mate. That’s why she hates him so much. Because they made a fool out of her," Dylan said, unsure why Maverick was asking that question.
Maverick hummed.
"I guess that’s another reason not to kill Tyler," Maverick said before he turned around and walked into the forest.
He wasn’t going to follow Valencia—not this time. Why? Because he needed time to settle his emotions.
When he saw Valencia showing her frustration with Tyler, he was angry at Tyler for having her attention.
Could she still have suppressed feelings for him, as Tyler mentioned? He didn’t like the thought of it. But it was an emotion that only crossed his mind in that split second.
The second thought that he didn’t tell anyone about was... He hated that Valencia still thought he would look at her pathetically after showing her love and affection on every occasion he could.
It only meant one thing. He needed to improve. There was something that he was supposed to do and wasn’t doing.
’You should’ve gone behind her. The more you stay away from her when she wants someone to console her, the more distance you’ll create among us,’ Reaper said.
Maverick knew what his wolf was talking about but knew what he was doing this time.
This time... He wanted to be ready for the next step, the kind of step he had not thought about until now.
This bubbling feeling of giving her everything she deserved and making people respect her in a way no one ever did, he wanted to do it all.
She was born to be Luna, and he wanted to make her his Luna. The feeling used to be subtle, but when she told him the truth today, she looked so sexy, alluring, and worthy.
Maverick shook his head before taking a deep breath.
He didn’t want to get distracted anymore. He turned it into his wolf form with a sigh before turning around.
Using his alpha speed, he ran towards the direction Valencia had run into.
At the same time, Valencia, who had run and came into no man’s territory, looked around, finally catching her breath.
’We came a bit too far. This is not safe,’ Aurora said.
Valencia could care less about what was safe or not.
She was angry and anxious.
Though only the truth of her relationship with Tyler was out, what if Maverick asked Tyler if she was a rogue, too? She didn’t dare to face him at the moment.
But it was primarily because she was so angry.
She pulled out her phone and dialed Tory’s number.
"Yes, love," Tory said, his calming voice making her take a deep breath.
"C- can you guys take me out of here without getting noticed? Kidnap me. I don’t care how you do it. Just do it. I don’t want to live here," Valencia said.
There was a moment of silence, on the other hand.
"You do realize what you are asking for, right? Though we have turned into rogues and work for you, we are still alphas, love," Tory said.
I knew Theo was somewhere behind him, or he wouldn’t be talking in plural form.
"They won’t accept me. I would rather be with people who would get me. Besides, you said someone is following me, and I heard from Dylan that the rogue head has been looking for me. I should build my army to face him. Only the Moon Goddess knows what he wants from me," Valencia said.
Theo looked at Tory and shook his head at him.
He could see what was happening. Something happened near where she was living; just like always, she made an impulsive decision.
No matter what kind of better life they lived as the alphas and having proper living space, unlike other rogues, it was still unsuitable for her.
These areas were full of risks. They had to fight rogues who fought for the space almost daily, and it was better she stayed out of such danger.
Tory pressed his lips into a thin line, his gaze following the breadbutter in his hand.
Without wasting time, he snatched the bread from his hand and started munching on it, making Theo growl.
Valencia heard his growl as Tory gave the phone to him. He always manages to calm her with his words. He was more on the intellectual side among the three of them.
"My princess," Theo said, and Valencia sighed.
"You don’t approve of me coming there, right?" She asked, already knowing what was going on in his head.
Theo didn’t say anything.
"We will look into the pack that you mentioned. We have already spread the news among our people and other rogues to let us know if they hear about a member of that pack being alive anywhere," Theo diverted the topic.
"That’s good. Maybe that would help me get some information on -" Valencia paused.
Right. She still hasn’t told them she was hunting for her parents’ information. She told them it was for her friend.
"Your parents?" Theo asked, surprising her.
"Hmm?" Valencia asked.
Theo rolled his eyes.
"Seriously? You thought you could fool us?" He asked. Valencia bit her bottom lip.
"It’s for my friend," she said, and Theo was about to reply that she could believe what she wanted to, but before he could hear, they heard a growl reverberating around Valencia, making them go on high alert.
"Val, what’s happening? What was this sound? Hello!" Theo raised his voice through the phone while Valencia, shocked by the growl, turned to her left to see who it was.
She looked at the wolf, and the distinct burning scent around him clearly indicated that it was a rogue.
But a rogue of this size? She looked at its magnificent size, which was no less than that of an alpha, and couldn’t help but wonder how many alphas had turned rogues in the past decade.
Her eyes darkened, and she got into a fighting position without wasting a second. Alpha or not, it was a rogue, and he was here to harm her.
However, to her surprise, rather than attacking her, the rogue turned to his right and plucked some flowers, making her look at him warily.
What was he trying to do? Was he trying to catch her off-guard?
The wolf padded cautiously towards her as if wary of her movements.
Usually, any person who was alone and not an alpha, especially a she-wolf, would prefer running away from the place, but of course, she was the weird one and a trouble magnet.
And that’s why she stayed there, observing him as if she was the strongest being no one could harm, even after ending up in the hospital so many times.
She saw the wolf stop five meters from her before laying the flowers in front of her.
Valencia looked at the wolf with suspicious eyes.
He stepped back and then drew something on the ground with his paws.
She couldn’t see what he was writing from a distance.
She waited for him to be done before she stepped ahead once he moved backward to maintain the same distance from her.
Valencia removed the flowers from the words. She didn’t dare to move around to see what was written, not wanting to show her back to a predator. That was the first rule of the forest if you wanted to survive. Always watch your back.
She tried to read what was written in the inverted version, her pupils dilating a little.
"Do I have your attention, princess?" the wolf wrote, and she looked up at him.
He kept looking at her, not saying anything before he started writing something again.
She rubbed the soil to distort the words.
After writing something for some time, the wolf lifted his head as if trying to sense something. He looked at her for a second before leaving as he had arrived.
Seeing him running away, Valencia walked to what he was writing, her body freezing for a second.
"Tyler doesn’t deserve you. No one does. You belong with me, someone who will treat you like his queen. I am -" The sentence ended, and Valencia gritted her teeth.
What the hell? Who was it? She wondered as she rubbed the soil and was about to run in the direction of the wolf when someone pounced on her from behind, making her land face-first on the ground.
