Beast Alpha and His Cursed Luna
Chapter 159: New missions

Chapter 159: New missions

VALENCIA’S POV

Was he being for real?

"That can’t be possible. Never in history has a pack been wiped out with no single man living. I am sure many members survived that night," I said, hoping to hear a positive answer.

Dylan looked into my eyes before taking a deep breath and nodding as he stood again.

"Sometimes I hate it that you are so intelligent and catch up on things quickly," Dylan turned around, but not his time.

I wasn’t going to let him end this topic at this turn.

I stood from the swing before holding his hand, turning him forcefully.

"What was the name of the pack? Who are my parents? Even if they died, I want to know them, to pay respect to them. If they died, who took me to the Hazel Moon pack? And if I was just an adopted daughter, did my beta parents in the Hazel Moon Pack already know about it? Is that the reason they had no problem torturing me?" I asked one after the other.

Everything was a mess in my head, and I wanted to know the answers to everything.

Dylan glared at me.

"I told you whatever I could and knew. I don’t know anything about how you went there or who took you there," Dylan said and I smirked.

That was fine. He gave me enough hints to let me know I could go ahead with my plans of making the lives of people in Hazel Moon pack a living hell because that’s what they deserve.

Of course, I will do it after returning what they did for me and how much they spent on me.

"That’s okay. I know who to ask the rest of the questions from," I told Dylan.

I turned around to go back to the apartment.

"No." Dylan held my hand. I looked at his hand, which was holding mine, before tilting my head and looking into his eyes.

He cleared his throat before stepping back.

"Sorry," he removed his hand.

"Please don’t go to my father. You know how he is. It will break his heart if he finds out you are angry and have started to know the truth. He put his life at risk to save yours. The people who are after you—I don’t know them, but Dad describes them as otherworldly monsters. Please don’t scare him," Dylan said.

The pleading look in his eyes made my heart skip a beat.

The realization that even if my family was never with me, these people always looked after me was always with me.

I wasn’t some ungrateful brat who didn’t know or appreciate what these people did for me.

I nodded my head.

"I don’t have any intention of asking him anything. The reason I asked you all this is because I know you will understand my heart. I won’t lie to you, Dylan. From the moment the Lycans hinted at the possibility of my parents being different, I have been feeling this angry mess in my head," I paused, hoping he would understand what I was talking about.

Just like I had guessed, he nodded his head.

"I know, baby girl. You didn’t deserve any of it. I am not going to lie to you anymore. We kind of had an idea of what was going on inside the pack, but not to that extent. And it was important for you to become stronger," Dylan said, and I furrowed my brows.

What did he mean by that? They wanted me to suffer to become stronger. That sounded so wrong. It was almost as if they left me there to suffer on my own in the name of becoming strong. What would’ve happened if I hadn’t been able to take it and died?

"You wouldn’t have died. We trusted you, the blood running in your veins. It was important for you to become a rogue. We always know sooner or later you will choose this path," Dylan said, his words surprising me.

Nothing was making sense to me.

Were they trying to give me a life to make me stronger despite knowing how painful it was for me? He says it was vital for me to become a rogue. Does he know what kind of pain and mess I am going through because I am a rogue?

Of course, he doesn’t. He doesn’t know anything going on between me and Alpha Maverick.

Will he say the exact words if he knows how much Maverick hates rogues and adores me at the same time? How torn did I feel when he expressed his anger towards the particular species?

"Incoherent words," I said to him, and he nodded.

Dylan wiped my cheeks, making me realize I had started to cry unknowingly.

I wiped my cheeks furiously before looking away. I didn’t want to cry in front of anyone anymore.

Crying in front of someone was like bleeding in front of crocodiles. I wouldn’t allow myself to do that.

"What I am saying is that you were always supposed to be a lone wolf, Valencia. You have leadership capabilities, and no alpha would’ve been able to tame you. That’s why we knew you wouldn’t take disrespect and would choose a rogue life," Dylan explained.

I hummed, understanding what he was trying to say.

"Do you guys plan to guide me for the rest of my life? What if one day, I wake up and decide this is too much for me to handle? That I want to settle down too, but my rogue life won’t allow me to do that?" I asked.

Dylan smiled. He cupped my cheeks before pinching them softly, making me scowl through my tearful eyes.

"You stupid girl. You ask me if I will guide you for the rest of your life. I will hold you in your darkness. I will hold you till it will hurt less and hold you till you tell me you are alright and are hurting less," Dylan said, his honest eyes making my heart skip a beat.

I nodded my head at him in understanding.

The rage and mess I felt in my heart started calming down at his reassuring words.

He smiled, flicking my nose softly.

"You don’t have to fight all this alone, baby girl. If you look carefully, you will always find me supporting your decision. You are that important to me. After Dad, after council, if there is anyone I give importance to, it’s you. Don’t you dare question my sincerity towards you," he said before pulling me in for a hug.

I placed my head on his chest, listening to his calm heartbeats that were calming me too.

"And regarding settling down, we will make you an official council member. You won’t ever have to become part of any pack. And if you are confused about who to settle with, just so you know, I have a king-sized bed that can fit both of us," Dylan said, and I chuckled, slapping his chest playfully.

He chuckled along with me before caressing my hair.

"Don’t ever be sad about such pitiful things. Life is really unfair, baby girl. And yours is going to be full of pain. Don’t you dare lose your smile for any bastard or bitch. No one deserves that. You deserve to live happily as much as we all do. If the moon goddess has filled your journey with big waves, I want you to show her how you surf on them," Dylan said, his words always motivating me.

That is why Dylan has been the only person I can trust in my life, even after everything. No matter what happens, I return to him when he becomes angry.

He always has my good heart.

However, that doesn’t mean I agree with all his words. He doesn’t know about my birth pack, and I can’t ask Jonathan for sure.

It’s okay. I have other ways to find the truth. Didn’t he say I have a leader’s characteristics? Won’t it be a shame if I can’t put them to use?

I don’t have one but two missions this time.

A genuine smile appeared on my face as I thought about all the mischievousness and adventure I was going to bring to everyone’s life.

I won’t allow them to have one if my life isn’t going normally.
