Chapter 137: Guardian angel

THIRD PERSON’S POV

Alina walked to the deepest regions of the forest after being mischievous for some time, thinking if she should return to the apartment or just stroll for some time.

Thinking it was more than enough for the day and she needed her dose of Valencia’s affection again, she turned around and was about to walk away when she heard some shuffling from some distance and her brows furrowed.

Rather than running away, she walked towards the source of the sound, her eyes narrowing when she saw 7 men standing there while one of them was trying to light the fire.

The men immediately felt her presence and turned to her.

"Lord, is the Moon Goddess happy with our work these days? She sent a girl our way for the night," One of the men said as they looked at Alina up and down.

She was wearing a black satin dress that did nothing to hide her curves with a small cape-like thing on her shoulders that made her look nothing less than a black fairy. Her eyes blinked at the men as if she were innocent and didn’t know what they were talking about.

"Well, she indeed looks worth devouring," The other man chimed in.

Lust and hunger were visible in their eyes and their expressions did nothing to hide their lecherous thoughts either.

They thought that after hearing their words, the girl would try to run away and they would love the chase too. However, to their surprise, the girl only stepped forward towards them, her innocent facade not breaking, but there was something about her eyes that was quite unnerving.

She was looking at them as if she was torturing them in the worst ways possible in her head.

"Are you guys having trouble lighting the fire?" Alina asked as she looked at the pile of wood.

She looked at them with no malice or fear on her face, which was even more unnerving.

"Aren’t you scared of us? We can kill you and open you up like a machine after we are done enjoying your assets," The rogue said, and Alina hummed.

"I don’t give a damn about it. What I want to know is why are you here?" Alina asked.

She has heard Valencia talking to Carl about how the rogues were probably looking for her because of how she has been hindering their work of attacking the Dark Callisto pack and how she had been attacked twice already.

Though Valencia didn’t say much, Alina heard everything that Carl talked about on her phone.

Thus, she wanted to know who these rogues were here for. Were they here for Valencia?

"That’s none of your fucking business. You know what, we are actually in a good mood. So you better leave before we ruin it for you," the other rogue said and the man looked at him, annoyed.

"Hey, you are not our leader. Who are you to decide whether we get to enjoy this girl or not? Besides, the boss only said to find that bitch. He didn’t mention anything about how we spend our time doing it," The rogue said, an information slip-up that was going to cost them their life.

Alina’s calm facade started to break as she looked at the rogues, her smile turning sinister.

"What did you say? Find the bitch?" Alina asked.

The other man who was asking her to leave immediately shook his head at the other man who slipped up the information.

When Alina noticed this, she smirked inwardly.

"You don’t happen to be talking about the bitch named Valencia, right? The one with bluish-gray eyes. I am here to look for her too," Alina said.

When the rogue saw the animosity in her eyes, he immediately nodded his head. Even though his friend was telling him to not go ahead with it because he could feel something was wrong with this girl, the rogue didn’t listen and chimed in.

"Yes, that’s the one we have been looking for. You are here to look for her too? What’s your business with her? Has she offended too many people? Then again, with what our boss told us about her personality, it seems like a true case," the rogue said.

Alina looked at the rogues and hummed before she sat on her ankles and played with the pile of wood in front of her.

She made a tent-like shape with the pile of wood that had been placed randomly by the rogues.

"You are looking for her because?" Alina asked.

The chatterbox rogue who wasn’t stopping sharing information, thinking nothing could go wrong or what a single female like her would be able to do to them, scoffed.

"To capture her. She has been messing with our boss for a long time. We want to capture that bitch and teach her a good lesson. We heard she was a beauty too," The rogue said.

Aline smirked. This time she did not hide her expressions or try to contain her emotions. She shifted her gaze to the man briefly before smiling at him.

"I told you I have been looking for her, but I never said what I have been looking for her for. How could you assume that I am looking for her because I want to assault her like you guys do?" Alina asked before she placed her hand on the pile of wood.

As soon as she did it, fire started to emanate from her hands and the rogues watched in horror as her entire hand lit on fire, lighting up the woods.

However, even with her hand inside the fire, it didn’t look like it was affecting her even a single bit.

The rogues looked at each other before looking at her warily.

"W-who are you?" The rogue who had been talking non-stop since earlier stuttered and Alina grinned.

She looked at them, her eyes that were hazel earlier starting to turn red.

Her lips stretched into a smirk as she let them look at the demon inside her, letting them fear her slowly.

"Me? I am just a guardian angel. The guardian angel of the girl you are here for," Alina said and the rogue finally realized they messed up and opened their mouth in front of the wrong girl.

Alina chuckled at the horrified expression on their faces.

"You weren’t so scared when you were talking about hurting my master," She looked at her nails that were elongating and the rogues followed her gaze.

A big mistake on their side.

Within a second, she used her high-speed powers and twisted the neck of the four rogues.

The sound of the lifeless body falling on the ground echoed in the silent environment and the remaining ones looked at her in pure fear.

"Now you know why I helped you light the fire? It’s indeed for you. To burn your dead bodies and remove all the evidence against me," Alina said before she repeated the process with the other remaining rogues too.

She could’ve had more fun with them, but she honestly didn’t want to waste her time on them and thought it was rather best that she ended them quickly and went back to Valencia and acted cute in front of her.

She pointed her finger at the fire in the woods before she shifted her fire to the dead bodies, lighting them up.

"You are enjoying this," She heard a whisper in her ears, and Alina, who wasn’t expecting someone to appear out of the blue, shook in her place.

"For Holy Blood’s sake, can you make some noise when you are moving?" Alina placed her hand on her heart.

The man standing behind her chuckled without humor at her comment.

"For the holy blood’s sake? Do you even care about the holy blood?" The man asked.

Alina rolled her eyes as she wiped her hands on tree leaves.

Her eyes went back to their hazel color that was helping her live among the werewolves without causing much ruckus.

"Of course, I do. How do you think I can keep everyone happy?" Alina looked at the man who looked like he was barely controlling his anger and the way she was talking was making him more angry.

"Do you even see what you are doing?" The man asked.

"What are you talking about?" She asked innocently as if she hadn’t burned rogues earlier and got caught doing that.

"Don’t try to act innocent in front of me. I am not Valencia, Alina," The man said.

Alina nodded her head.

"I haven’t forgotten why I am here in the first place. Stop interfering in my work and get lost," She said, her eyes glaring at the man who seemed the least bit fazed.

"Is that so? Last time I checked, none of the things you did in the last 12 hours were in your job description. First, it was nearly burning the entire pack and risking the lives of so many people, and now killing these rogues. What are you doing?" the man asked the girl.

Alina smiled.

"I am doing exactly what I should be doing. Keeping a keen look out for Valencia," Alina smiled.

"Alina! Don’t forget who you are! You are a princess!" The man raised his voice at her.

Alina looked at the man and hummed.

"A princess who has her eyes locked on the target, I remember," She whispered.
