"So, what’s the news?" The man clad in the blue cloak with his face hidden behind the half hoodie, asked as soon as he saw the men he had sent for the work returning with a displeased look on his face.

The subordinate paused, looked at his boss, and took a deep breath.

"It’s exactly like you had predicted, sir. The bandits we hired just to check if Maverick had indeed arrived alone or with his team of bodyguards, did their work," The subordinate said, letting his sentence hang vaguely.

The man in the blue cloak scoffed. His lips curled up in a smirk as he ran his index finger up and down the shining blade of his sword.

"Let me guess, he has come with his bodyguards, right?" He asked.

The subordinate hummed and the man laughed without any humor.

"Dang it. This fear I tell you is indeed something, don’t you think? Or why would the strongest alpha of the nation still go here and there with such strong protectors? I am sure he sensed someone is onto him already," The man said before shaking his head.

"Well, it’s a good thing we didn’t have to waste any more trained rogues of our team on checking a thing as useless as this. Let’s move to our plan B," The man said, his gaze shifting to the woman who walked inside the place with a neutral expression on her face.

"You can leave," The man said to the subordinate reporting earlier, leaving him and the girl alone in the room.

"What news have you brought for me, Miss Kayla?" The man asked sarcastically as he patted his thighs and the girl walked to him with a smile.

"What news I have brought is surely going to blow off your mind. The girl that you have been looking for, the one we only had the side profile of, I think that girl is related to the council somehow," The girl said, letting the man roam his hands on her body freely as she enjoyed his unscrupulous touch.

"The council, huh?" The man asked, his mind going deep in thought.

"I am just trying to wonder if we could find anyone who could help us with this task. I don’t seem to find any council member who will get ready to sell the information," The man said.

The girl on his lap chuckled, her sudden laugh annoying him.

"What’s so funny about it?" He asked.

The girl shook her head and stood from her place before going to his table and sitting on top of it with her legs wide spread for the man.

The man looked at what kind of an open invitation she was giving and immediately stood from his place, ready to devour her.

However, as soon as he reached there, the girl closed her legs meticulously, holding his collar and pulling him close.

"Every man in this world wants one thing or the other. You just need to find the right man, see to it that he is in dire need of something, you promise that thing to him, and boom, loyalty flows out of the window," The girl said, blinking her eyes innocently.

The guy looked at her and chuckled.

That was one hell of a statement and truth of life.

"So are you going to betray me someday too?" He asked, fisting her hair in his hands as he yanked her head back to look into her eyes dominantly.

"We have the same goal, you got a good dick and can fuck good too, looks are okay, I get paid on time and I can do whatever the fuck I want. If I get a better deal than this, which would hardly be the case, I might think about it," The girl said and the man clenched his teeth before nodding his head at her.

She was lucky she was amazingly useful to him or he would’ve snapped that head of hers despite her cuteness. A cunt was like the most easily available thing in the market with some money.

Besides, he was pretty much sure he stretched her white some good and could do another virgin girl and make her his slave.

"Call me if you find something," The man said before creating his distance from her, a clear indication that he wasn’t in any mood to fuck around.

The lady raised her brows at him.

"This reminds me, are we not going to do anything about Tyler’s engagement?" She asked.

The man shrugged.

"What has that got to do with us? I am not messing with another alpha and risking my rogue’s life just because he messed up one of our plans that day. I have better things to do," The man said, and the girl looked at his back as he left the area, her eyes darkening.
