ALPHA MAVERICK’S POV

"What did you say? Your woman?" The chief officer asked, and Valencia looked like she was about to speak, refuting everything I said, but before she could, I saw another officer standing from her left side.

"So you are her man? Why have we not heard about it? Definitely our first time hearing she got someone or should I say, someone was finally able to tame her," He asked, his confident gaze raking me up and down because he probably didn’t know who I was.

I smiled.

"You know everything about her?" I asked, and he shrugged.

"Well, judging from your actions, it clearly tells us that you don’t know everything about her. Do you think this is her first time here?" The officer asked me, and I read the name on his batch.

I looked at Valencia who had a little blush on her cheeks as she looked down at her feet like a little kid who knew her adventures had been found out about.

Carl sighed as he looked at the girl.

"He is right, Maverick. This is not the first time here," Carl said, disregarding my title in front of the humans and my earlier statement about calling her my woman at the same time.

I didn’t like it, and I am sure they could feel it too.

And if they thought I was going to give up on the idea, they were definitely wrong.

"Well, it’s not like I am in any hurry. I will find out everything about her slowly. She has captured my interest recently," I said before I walked to her, making her finally look up as she looked at me with those knowing Greyish-blue eyes that captured my attention when I saw her for the first time.

"If there’s nothing she needs to do anymore, we are free to take her away, right?" I asked the chief inspector, who nodded his head.

"That girl that was with you, is also waiting for you outside the station. We asked her if she wanted to come inside and wait, but she denied it," Another officer walked in, and he gave some kind of file to the Chief.

"What girl?" Carl asked and Valencia pouted her lips, looking away and not saying anything about it.

"Let’s go," I bent and held the mischievous girl’s hand.

"Hey! Stop treating me like a kid," Valencia scowled as she tried to pull her hand out of my grip, but the more she was doing that, the more the urge to tighten my hold was growing.

"If you don’t want me to treat you like a kid, then stop acting like one. Sneaking out of the apartment when both Carl and I were worried sick about you, seriously Valencia?" I asked her and she rolled her eyes.

"Well, who is the reason I was sick in the first place?" She asked, and I quirked my brows.

So it was my fault? Was I the one who went to her and asked her to come to me to bite my neck and drink my blood?

"Are you sure it’s my fault?" I asked her jokingly and she scowled harder.

"You are right. It’s not your fault. It’s my fault. Rather than going to you, I should’ve gone to someone else, someone like-" She couldn’t complete her sentence because, in the next moment, I slammed her into the closest wall, pressing her body with mine, my seething eyes looking straight into hers.

"I dare you to complete that sentence, Valencia," I snarled at her.

Normally any person in front of me, standing in front of the strongest alpha would’ve folded already, but it was as if my anger only provoked the psychotic side of her.

As soon as I completed my sentence, she grabbed my collar, her hand going to my throat before she dug her nails into my neck with an equal intensity, making Reaper howl and cheer for our woman as if I was their enemy together.

’Woohoo, you go girl. Choke the hell out of him,’ Reaper grinned and I chuckled inwardly at his excitement.

"I have been a nasty girl, Alpha Maverick. Don’t provoke me or dare me to do something. It turns on my psychotic switch, and if you keep up with it, I promise you, Alpha, you will see the side of me you haven’t ever," Valencia said as she raked her gaze on my face, licking her bottom lip.

Once again she was openly challenging me, threatening me, the strongest alpha, and naturally, I should be provoked, but what was I doing?

I was standing there, feeling hot and aroused at her provocations.

"Will you believe me if I tell you that you look so hot right now that I want to fuck this attitude out of you?" I asked, and I watched how her eyes went wide and she immediately loosened her grip on my neck, her cheeks turning red as she averted her gaze.

Ha... Stupid girl, does she really think I would be stupid enough to try to cancel the fire with fire?

She was one woman who had this power to turn me on just by looking at me, and obviously, to deal with this woman, I would use all the nasty tricks under my sleeves.

"Want me to show you a little demo?" I asked, stepping even closer to her, the sound of her fast-beating heart giving me the kind of joy that was both feeding my ego and making me proud of myself at the same time.

"I... What are you doing, Alpha? Do you have no shame?" Valencia stuttered as she tried to push me now, and I chuckled at her before leaning in to kiss her cheeks as I saw her getting anxious under my hold, just how I liked her, anxious and ready to take me.

However, before I could do that, I heard the sound of something going off and before I could react in time, I turned around to watch my car flying in the air as it blasted, making me widen my eyes.

I watched in surprise as all the police officers rushed out of the police station while Carl stood there, looking at us in pure surprise.

"What the actual hell?" I gritted my teeth.

"Fucking hell," I heard Valencia groaning loudly.
