Chapter 396: I Own You

Sex with Ronan was nothing like sex with Salvatore. The way Ronan took his time, like he didn’t have anything better to do than to see what made me tick, was different from Salvatore’s desire to make sure that everything I wanted was there at my fingertips.

Don’t get me wrong, both were completely mind-blowing, and the number of times that I came... well, I lost count after five.

My brain wasn’t working after that.

Letting out a contented sigh, I fell asleep in Ronan’s arms, even as the rest of the guys entered the room quietly. Salvatore slid into the bed on my other side, and suddenly I was in a Sloth/Envy sandwich. I really wanted to test just what that would be like, but at some other time.

For right now, sleep called, and I was determined to answer.

-----

The cold metal around my ankles and wrists made me cranky. Combined with the cold metal chair that I was strapped to? Well, I was just tickled pink by all the attention.

"Finally," grunted a deep, familiar voice like I was late to an appointment that I didn’t remember making. "You took your time."

"Meh," I smirked as Colt stepped out of the shadows to come to a stop in front of me. "I was a bit busy."

"I bet," sneered Colt. Rage poured off him in waves, and if this had been a few years ago, I probably would have been terrified. Cocking my head to the side, I studied the monstrous man in front of me. If it had been the old me, I would already be on my knees, begging him to spare me.

Too bad for him that I wasn’t that little girl anymore.

"Haven’t you heard me calling you?" he continued, his eyes narrowing as he stared me down. "Aren’t you supposed to come whenever there is a wish to grant?"

Raising an eyebrow, I couldn’t help but scoff. I knew what he thought I was, but even a genie needed a lamp to be rubbed before it appeared.

Not that I wanted Colt to rub any part of me...

"Well," I drawled. I wanted to shift, to get more comfortable, but the chains holding me down were making that impossible. That was fine. I would remember this for the next time we met in real life. "Here I am. What do you want? Directions? A map back to your pride? A map back to your balls? I think Sadie has those in her purse if you really want them back."

The slap across my face came out of nowhere, and I can’t say that I was expecting it. The pain in my cheek made me want to wipe the wetness from the corner of my mouth, but that was impossible. Instead, my tongue darted out to lick it away.

Tasting my own blood really wasn’t setting the mood...

Not unless Colt was dumb enough to continue to think that he had the upper hand.

"I want you to fix this," growled Colt, his eyes flashing red. If I didn’t know better, I would have sworn that he had a little wrath in him. But that was impossible, right? I mean, the demon seeds only fell in Country M, right?

My eyes lit with the possibility that maybe, just maybe, the demon seeds were here now in Country N, infecting the survivors. Oh, the possibilities.

The endless possibilities of more demons in the world.

I tilted my head. "Fix what?"

"The jungle, the bug, everything," snarled Colt, his voice getting deeper as the demon seed slid further into his heart. Maybe it was because he was now outside that a seed had found a host. After all, when I first met him, he had been inside for a while. There was no chance of him being outside when the seeds fell.

"The survivors are dying," he continued, snapping me out of my thoughts. "They need food. Safety. You can make that happen with a snap of your fingers, I know you can."

Tilting my head back, I let out a huge belly laugh even as Colt’s face turned even more red. "I can," I agreed with him. "All it takes is a simple wish. But why should I do that? What’s in it for me?"

The smirk on Colt’s face was almost as terrifying as the rest of him. It promised pain and blood if I didn’t behave. Unfortunately for him, I wasn’t exactly known to behave lately. "Because you owe me," he said slowly. Each word was its own sentence; I just didn’t understand why he seemed to believe it.

"Owe you?" I blinked. And people thought that I was crazy. "And just how the hell did you come up with that conclusion?"

"If I hadn’t let you stay at the apartment when you first appeared, you would have frozen to death in a matter of minutes," he sneered. "I protected you. I gave you shelter."

This time, I couldn’t help the bark of laughter that was ripped out of my chest. "You protected me? Okay," I nodded, the frown on my face not going anywhere.

"And when I gave you the boat?" I asked.

"We wouldn’t need the boat if you didn’t melt all the ice overnight," countered Colt, the shit eating grin on his face making me want to slap it off. Or maybe I’ll just have him eat shit.

Either would work at the moment.

"That heat was Sadie’s wish. Or are you now blaming her for everything that happened after?"

"Don’t bring her up here," replied Colt, his eyes back to hatred. "You don’t deserve to say her name. She had no idea what you were capable of. You never should have granted her wish."

My eyebrows practically disappeared in my hair as I looked at him like he was stupid. "Are you trying to get a wish from me now? Why should I grant you wishes but not hers?"

Colt waved his hand in the air like he was dismissing me. "Sadie is innocent," he announced. "But right now, you belong to me. You will grant each and every one of my wishes, and you will do it silently. I don’t want to hear your voice; I don’t want to see your face if I don’t have to. From here on out, I own you."

"Oh, bless your heart," I tsked, shaking my head. "I’m not something you can own."

"And yet, here you are, chained to a chair and completely at my mercy."
