Chapter 355: The House On The Cliff

After a quick snap of my fingers, I was cleaned and dressed again. There was nothing that I could do about Salvatore slowly leaking from between my legs; I just had to hope that my panties could take it.

"You ready?" purred Ronan, already dressed. Despite his claims, he could move fast when he wanted to.

"Any idea what is happening?" I asked, taking his offered hand and walking out of the bedroom. In front of us was the ladder that acted like stairs, and honestly, I didn’t think I was really up for them. I felt like I had just run a marathon, my legs were burning and one wrong move and my back was going to break.

Ronan, as if seeing my dilemma, pulled me onto his back. "No idea," he admitted as my arms wrapped around his neck and my legs around his hips. "With dem, it could be anythin’ from someone getting more food den another or someone loosin’ a leg. I’m votin’ for someone loosin’ a leg. With what dey just interrupted, someone better be bleedin’."

Climbing up the three ladders to the main deck, he helped me off his back before we took stock of the boat. People were running around like crazy, some screaming, others bleeding. None of that really bothered me. It was the giant mountains on either side of the ship that caused me to pause for a second.

"You couldn’t have avoided the massive mountains?" I called out, narrowing my eyes at the crow who was still perched on the ship’s wheel. "I would have thought that even you would have seen them."

The crow cawed back at me, its wings out like it was throwing up its hands in disgust. "Hey!" I answered back. "I’m not the one who crashed the ship! Or did you really think that we could have made it through that slit?"

Once again, the crow snapped back at me before taking off.

"Nice conversation?" asked Dante as he, Luca, and the others walked over to where I was standing.

"I’m not wrong," I pouted, stomping my foot. "I don’t care that the bird wants to be in charge of the ship. All the power to him. But it’s a mountain! How do you miss a mountain!?!"

"No point in screaming about it now," sneered Colt. There was a bit of a blush on his face when he looked at me briefly. As if to prove that he was listening to everything that Salvatore was doing to me, he quickly looked away, unable to meet my eyes.

Poor innocent man. If he wasn’t so much bigger than me, I would worry that I was corrupting him or something.

"Half of the survivors have an injury of some kind or other. I knew it was a bad idea to not be in control of where we were going," the man continued, even as Sadie rushed over to our side.

"Can I borrow Salvatore Ronan? The faster we get these people to stop bleeding, the faster we can figure out what we are going to do next," she said, a smile on her face. However, I could also see the worry and stress that was weighing down on her shoulders.

It kind of pissed me off that no one remembered what they had wished for after they had gotten it. Sadie has specified in her wish that nothing happens to the boat until we no longer need it.

That left three possibilities. Either the boat would become fine once we got it unstuck, we were exactly where we were supposed to be, or we were already all dead and just didn’t know it yet.

And number three was definitely not a possibility. I would know if I was dead. Or at least, I don’t think I would hurt so much. Fuck. Maybe I should start taking yoga or something. I had nine men, and now that I understood what sex could be like, I wanted it more.

But back to the issue at hand.

"Go," I sighed, waving my hand. There might be blood, but there was no chance of anyone getting seriously hurt. Why? Because of Sadie’s wish.

Nope. I needed to keep my cool. Just because I wasn’t cuddling with my guys, didn’t mean that I couldn’t take out my frustrations on everyone else.

Looking up at the mountain, I was surprised to see my house perched at the very top... with a fucking crow on the front porch. "I’ll be right back," I grumbled, narrowing my eyes. "I have to have a conversation with a house."

The guys turned their attention to where I was staring, but I could tell that they couldn’t see the house.

"I’ll go with you," grunted Tank, his arms crossing over his chest like he was expecting me to argue with him. Fat chance.

"I’ll go, too," smiled Dimitri as he took out his knife and started to clean under his nails. There wasn’t a speck of dirt under them, but that didn’t seem to matter. "Maybe I’ll find some fresh meat or somethin’."

Letting out a long sigh, Luca stepped forward. "There is no way I am going to let you go with just them. Knowing Dimitri, you’ll end up falling off a cliff or something."

"Beg yer pardon?" snapped Dimitri, clearly affronted over that suggestion.

"Go ahead," nodded Luca, a smirk on his face. "You are the brawn of our group. Let the brain lead for a change, yeah?"

Dimitri opened his mouth to refute Luca’s statement, but much to my surprise, he quickly shut it again. "Fine."

"Whoever is coming, let’s go," I said, already reaching up to the cliff stuck in the middle of the ship. For some reason, my house was waiting for me up top, and I wasn’t going to miss out on the chance to go home.

----

Blood poured from the tips of my fingers and the palms of my hands as I continued to climb up the mountain. There was no easy path, no road or trees that could bring me to my destination. Instead, I was stuck pulling my body up one inch at a time.

But my goal was clear. For some reason, my house wasn’t doing what it was supposed to. I shouldn’t be locked out of a place that I created. I needed to get to it and figure out what was going on. I needed answers, and the house was the only one that had them.
