Chapter 134: Liu Haoyu

The man with the gun slowly lowered his hand; his head cocked to the side as he studied me more. After a few seconds, he returned the gun to his shoulder holster and nodded his head.

This time, my bright smile wasn’t forced. I always loved someone who was willing to play with me. And this man seemed to be more than happy to let me lead.

Motioning for two of his men to stay behind, I quickly shook my head no. Chang Xuefeng was going to be pissed, no matter how much I downplayed it all. If anyone were going to die, I wouldn’t have it be this guy’s men.

Raising his eyebrows as he looked at me, the second man waved his soldiers back in line.

"Good boy," I mouthed the words, making sure that Wan Ying couldn’t hear them. "No point in getting you and yours killed."

The second man’s eyes went wide as Wan Ying slapped my ass for a second time before leaving the mall and my forgotten sandwich behind.

----

The men walked in a close formation, their eyes constantly scanning their surroundings as Wan Ying continued forward, his loud voice echoing around the buildings of City B.

"We’re going to eat good tonight, boys," chuckled the second in command of the Red Dragon Syndicate. However, Xian Wuying remembered a time when Wan Ying wouldn’t have had a chance to get that high in the organization.

Then again, that was before Liu Yuzeng and Chen Zihan were in charge. Now, after they left and the mansion burned down, there were too few men to stop Wan Ying from rising through the ranks.

Still, it grated on Xian Wuying’s nerves to have to follow his orders. If he weren’t holding the poor kid over his shoulders like a sack of potatoes, he really would have shot him in the head and just be done with it all.

"You said that you had a lot of wishes," smiled the kids, her elbows resting against Wan Ying’s back, her cheeks cradled in her hands. It was only her mischievous face that stopped Xian Wuying from seeing red. "What are they?"

"If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride," sighed Xian Wuying. "There is no point in making wishes."

The kid stared at him through eyes that were much older than her face. "Keep your men close to you," she said, the smile gone from her face as if she was trying to tell him something. "I wasn’t kidding when I said that Daddy was going to be pissed."

Xian Wuying nodded his head but didn’t bother to say anything. She hadn’t let him leave any men behind, and there was no way anyone would be able to follow them where they were going. Not if they had any sense.

----

I was dumped unceremoniously on a carpeted floor before rolling a few feet from the force of my fall. I was aching all over my body, especially my poor, abused stomach, and I was pretty much done with everything.

"Look at the goods we brought home," laughed Wan Ying, his belly practically shaking like Santa’s with his joy. Coming to my feet, I soothed down my dress and made sure that there was no dust on it.

Fixing my pigtails, I took a lolly-pop out of my space and started taking off the wrapper.

"Are you okay?" asked the second man as he approached me. Unlike the others in the room, who were having the best time of their lives, he and his men were still serious and still had their automatic rifles in their hands. "We don’t have a lot of first aid supplies in the house, but I can get you whatever you need."

Looking up over my shoulder, I shoved the strawberry lolly-pop in his mouth to shut him up. It was fine; I wasn’t a big fan of the strawberry ones anyway. Finding a banana flavored one, I took it out of my space next and started unwrapping it.

"You are going to be introduced to our head," muttered Xian Wuying after a moment, taking the lolly-pop out of his mouth. I half expected him to make a comment or give it back, but he did neither.

"Liu Haoyu is the head of the Red Dragon Syndicate and one of the leaders of the Country K underworld. He was burnt badly from a fire that destroyed our house a few months ago, and he lost someone important to him. He is not someone to be trifled with. Do you understand me?"

It actually looked like Xian Wuying was worried about me, but that was impossible. We just meant. "Don’t worry," I shrugged, really not caring about it. "Everyone likes me the first time they see me. It’s not until a bit later that they run away screaming."

"Sweetness, I’m serious. Liu Haoyu isn’t a man to be trifled with. Even with his scars and his old age, he will not hesitate to kill you. Please, just stay behind me, and I’ll keep you safe."

Rolling my eyes, I nodded my head. I was a guest in their house, and as a guest, I guess I should obey their rules. Sticking the lolly-pop into my mouth, I frantically sucked on it. Hopefully, if my mouth was already full, I couldn’t stick my foot in it, too.

"Attention!" called out a man, standing beside a door I had never noticed before. "Old Master Liu Haoyu is entering."

I bit back the scoff that came out of my mouth when the second man looked down at me.

Opening my eyes, I blinked rapidly and put on my best innocent face.

"What supplies did you find this time?" demanded an old man as he hobbled into the room. There was an attendant hovering beside him; his arms outstretched as if he was getting ready to catch the old man in case he fell.

Ever so slowly, he made his way to the only chair in the room, his cane wobbling with every step he took. Seriously, what was with all the throne rooms? Hell, even Père had one, if I really think about it. That lone chair in the living room where only he could sit.

It had to be a guy thing.

"The mall was completely cleared of supplies as we were searching through it," announced the second man as he slid forward in front of me to hide me. "We think that there was a space user in the mall, but we didn’t find anyone."

"It’s not good for you to lie to the Head," chuckled Wan Ying, his snake-like eyes turning to the man in front of me. "We did find someone, didn’t we?"
