Chapter 123 final wave

Chapter 123: 123 final wave

Everyone geared up just as the system clock turned red...

[ The Boss Monster has been summoned ]

[ Clear the stage by eliminating it ]

The towering desert pillar cracked—and then shattered into pieces. From within the rubble, a glowing core came into view.

In the next instant, the sands all around them twisted violently. The ground quaked beneath their feet. A monstrous whirlwind surged upward, forming a massive storm wall of dust and wind.

"Look! There’s the core!" Tyson shouted, pointing for everyone to see.

"Was," Alex muttered, his eyes narrowing.

"It’s already moving," Lara said nervously. "What do we do, Senior?"

"Why the heck would he know?" Ken cut in, "Ask me, ahem!"

Shaun didn’t respond. He was focused—studying the storm, trying to read its pattern, searching for logic in the chaos.

Rudra’s armor shifted, The sleek orange-green plating shifted as two compact fighter drones detached from his back, shooting into the air with a sharp whoosh.

"Give me a second. I’m analyzing the field," Rudra said,

"Do we even have a second?" Blue shouted just as the storm crashed into them.

The Haboob swallowed them whole.

Tyson dug his feet into the sand, bracing himself. His metallic armor groaned under the pressure. The air turned blistering hot, and the roaring wind flung grit and heat like blades.

Visibility dropped to near zero.

Inside the storm’s heart, silhouettes began to take shape—creatures forming from the sand itself.

Small sand golems rose first, their bodies twisting from the ground like sand puppets. Then came the giants—the same massive creatures they had faced in earlier waves, now born again from the swirling chaos.

"Shit," Tyson muttered, shielding their helmet with one arm, scanning desperately through the thick dust.

They were trapped in a living storm, with monsters on all sides and a core somewhere within.

This... was the final wave.

Tyson struggled to stay upright in the storm, his vision limited by the swirling sands."Guys, are you there?" he called out.

"Heck yes! You’re not getting rid of me that easy, asshole!" Blue shouted, grappling with a silhouette in front of him.

"Don’t—" The next thing Blue knew, he was body-slammed into the sand. "You dare—" Alex growled.

"Wrong brother," said Red, offering him a hand.

"Serge, we need to hurry before more monsters rise!" Shaun yelled.

"Hurry where? We can’t see shit!" Ken snapped.

"I’m sharing the live map," Rudra said, swiping over a screen projected from his forearm armor. "My drones are in position. Don’t damage them unless you wanna go blind."

Tyson’s helmet blinked as the map uploaded. A HUD appeared—showing red blips... some small, others large. Monsters. Closing in.

"I see something," Alex said. "Is that your drone, Rudra?"

"Yep. The map updates in real time. You won’t see monsters until they’re in your face, so use it to move smart."

"What about the core?" Tyson asked. "Can you locate it yet?"

"Not yet. My scan range is limited. I’m prioritizing your safety first—we move forward, I’ll find it."

"They’re coming from all sides!" Lara gasped, watching the map fill with dots. "We’re getting surrounded!"

"We have to reach the core!" Shaun said urgently. "Fighting everything is suicide. If the golems keep regenerating, the storm’s just gonna wear us down."

"Not a storm—a boss," Red smirked. "Time to burn him down"

With a roar, flames erupted from his guitar-hilted weapon, liquefying incoming golems into

molten glass before they could even regenerate.

"Stick close! We all need to—" Tyson began, but then—

Alex dashed ahead, katana raised, slicing through a golem and disappearing deeper into the storm.

"Fuck," Tyson muttered.

"Stay awake, you freaks!" Blue shouted, blasting wildly. "Don’t come close"

The team instinctively clustered together, fending off waves of golems hidden within the choking dust.

Tyson grabbed Shaun by the shoulder. "We can’t stay pinned down. You hold the center with your shield—clear a path. We’ll cut through anything in our way. You remember Bull Formation right?"

Shaun nodded, summoning his heavy shield. "Y-Yes, sir."

"Red, Blue—I need ranged suppression, now!" Tyson barked.

"Why the hell should I listen to you?" Blue grumbled.

"I’ll kill more than you, Color Blue," Red taunted.

"In your dreams, bitch!" Blue snapped, blowing the head off a charging golem.

"Ken, Lara—you’re with me. Guard Shaun. We push forward." Tyson turned to Rudra, who gave a firm nod.

"I’ll provide aerial recon and live support," Rudra said.

"I will also do my best" healer said, "Just make sure I don’t die. Please."

"No one will die," Tyson said firmly. Then, in low tone "I hope."

"Hope?" Lara murmured. "Let’s... hope, then."

The team quickly formed the bull formation—a tactic taught by the Association for high-stress movement through overwhelming obstacles.

Shaun led the front like the head of the bull, shield raised. Tyson, Lara, Ken, Rudra, and the healer held the body, protected behind Shaun’s bulk. Red and Blue took the rear, the bull’s legs, covering them from behind with suppressive fire.

They charged into the storm, deeper and deeper into the raging haboob, the wind howling louder with each step.

"We won’t last long like this," Shaun grunted, straining to hold the wall of wind at bay. His shield acting like an anchor for the rest.

"It’s time," Rudra said, glancing at Tyson. "We need reinforcements."

Tyson stayed silent as he decapitated another golem with his blade.

Only one volunteer had been ready so far—Bee. And Bee was... well, brave, but not strong. If a single golem got to him, it could be over. Still, they were running out of options.

"Bee... you really wanna come here?" Tyson asked into comms.

"Yes, sir!" Bee replied from the battle room, holding the orb tightly. "I want to be there with you. You guys are my family."

"I appreciate your courage, little one," Edward said, gently taking the orb from Bee. "But they need to build more points before we can send stronger reinforcements. no time for emotions, Tyson gather points,"

Tyson nodded grimly, watching the healer reinforce Shaun, the two of them barely holding the front together as the storm grew even more violent.

"Any sign of Alex?" he asked.

"No," Rudra replied. "But... I’m picking up a cluster of golems to the left. If we shift our path, I might get a clearer reading."

Tyson gritted his teeth. Damn it, Alex. Why’d you have to rush in alone?

"We’re changing course!" Tyson called out. "Shaun, take us left!"

"Why?!" Blue barked from the rear. "I swear, you two brothers are gonna be the death of me one day!"

"Alex, do you hear us?" Tyson shouted, knowing full well that idiot could hear them. They were all connected through their meta-bots—like an inbuilt team comms system.

No response.

They edged further left, following the map—until suddenly, a green dot appeared.

Surrounded. Engulfed. Slashing through red markers like a man possessed.

"There he is..." Tyson muttered, watching the lone green light rage in the storm.

"He’s a damn monster," Blue said, eyes on his own display.

Tyson noticed the number ticking up gathering points...

[ Current Points... 24 ]

Then came the voice—angry, unfiltered...

"Fuck off. I don’t need anyone’s help. I’m more than enough to deal with these little shits." Alex shouted.

"You should’ve said that sooner," Blue shot back.

Tyson paused, jaw clenched. Stubborn idiot. Even if Alex was holding his own, if something went wrong, they needed to be close enough to reach him in time.

That’s when the earth shook beneath them.

The sand to their right twisted and funneled upwards, coiling into a massive arm.

"Incoming!" Tyson shouted.

WHAM!

The gigantic sand fist came crashing down onto Shaun’s shield, sending him flying like a ragdoll. The impact shattered the bull formation completely, scattering the Rangers into the chaos of the storm.

Tyson staggered to his feet, the white light blinking steadily on his chest—a reminder that White was still with him.

"What was that?" he muttered, dazed. "Boss monster?"

White blinked once in response.

Tyson’s helmet screen flickered, pulling up Rudra’s live map. Everyone was still in range—scattered, yes, but not lost.

He had no time to breathe.

Behind him, the sand shifted violently. A massive fist of the sand giant, like the one from the second wave, rose silently. Meta-bot blinked red in warning—too late.

The blow caught Tyson off guard, launching him forward with a grunt.

[ Nano-particle reserves: 64% ]

"Shit... didn’t see that coming," Tyson groaned.

White blinked twice.

"What?" Tyson said, still catching his breath. "Forgive me, dear lord, for not knowing what the hell you’re trying to say."

White blinked once.

Tyson rolled his eyes inside the helmet. "You’re such a drama queen."

The sand giant closed in, footsteps thudding in storm.

Just as it raised another punch—a small jet-like drone zipped in from above, drilling straight into the monster’s head.

BOOM.

The giant exploded into a rain of molten sand all around Tyson.

Tyson grinning as Rudra appeared with the healer in tow, drones orbiting around him like loyal wolves.

"Hey there," Rudra said, "Did I just steal your kill?"
