Chapter 122: 122 Desert storm

{ Ranks;

Cadets – 1 to 15 power points

Sergeants – 15 to 30 power points

Lieutenant – 30 to 45 power points

Captain – 45 to 55 power points

General – 55+ }

Note for all those still confused about points and power points:

Points are just a simplified system term—to help humans understand the concept. After killing monsters, you earn points, which can be used to summon allies. The strength of each ally is measured in power points. It’s not that deep. I made it easy—both for myself and for you. :)

"Another nut job’s here," Blue muttered under his breath.

"Hey, you blue monkey," Red grinned, slinging his guitar across his shoulder."Wanna hear my music? I feel like we could be great rivals... if I wanted to."

"If you wanted to?" Blue stared at him. "Fuck off."

"Hey!" Tyson stepped in. "Save it. Start collecting points or we’re dead."

"On my way!" Red shouted as he bolted after Alex.

A sand giant staggered forward, charging its fist toward the approaching figure. Red didn’t slow down. Instead, he raised his guitar-weapon and blasted a torrent of intense flames. The monster’s head melted into a collapsing heap of glass-like sand.

[Remaining Points: 5]

"Are all red rangers crazy?" Blue muttered,

"Maybe," Tyson replied with a shrug, then nodded to the system. "We’re getting 2 points per kill now. That’s good, don’t you think?"

"Yeah, but it takes twice the effort to kill one." Blue’s helmet sealed over his face."I’m going in, loser."

Tyson grinned and followed, just a step behind.

Tyson jumped sideways, narrowly avoiding the sand giant’s massive punch. The ground trembled beneath the impact. Without wasting a second, he charged forward, sprinting up the giant’s arm and climbing to its shoulder as grains of sand swirled wildly around its colossal body.

He stabbed the head—once, twice—searching for the core. This one was tougher; the core must be buried deeper than the previous sand monsters.

A massive hand reached out to grab him, but Tyson deflected it with his white metallic shield, then drove his sword down with all his strength. The golem collapsed—crashing to the ground, with Tyson falling alongside it.

"Man, this sucks," Tyson muttered, staggering to his feet just as the system pinged.

[Ding! 2 Points Earned...]

"I wish I was a ranged fighter..."

His white Meta-Bot blinked twice—clearly unimpressed.

Before Tyson could react, the armor dissolved off his body, retracting itself into its original form. Tyson now stood exposed in his human form, left with only his sword and the heavy shield.

"Wait—I’m sorry!" Tyson said, startled.

Whity had completely retracted, ignoring his apology.

"Bro, come on! I was joking!" Tyson groaned, dragging the oversized shield across the sandy ground.

Back in the control room, everyone went silent, eyes fixed on the screen.

"What the hell is that idiot doing?" someone finally whispered.

Edward narrowed his eyes, arms crossed in front of the screen.

Julian let out a soft chuckle. "The kid’s got energy."

"Yeah... and zero brain cells," Edward muttered.

"ummm" Black Meta-bot chimed. "toddler"

Meanwhile, back on Earth—

Nancy’s nails dug into the leather of the sofa as she watched. "Really, Tyson? You had to do that now..."

She shook her head in disbelief, a mix of anger and relief washing over her. He was still being stupid. But he was alive. And that made her heart feel a little lighter.

---

The nano-bot armor wrapped back around Tyson as Whitey reactivated with a single silent blink.

"Good boy," Tyson muttered with a smirk, keeping his distance from the nearest giant."Glad to have you... ahem, again."

Whitey blinked once—perhaps accepting the apology.

Another sand golem crumbled under Alex’s blade.

[Ding! 2 Points Earned...]

[Current Points: 9]

Tyson exhaled slowly. He could summon either Shaun or Ken now.

Ken was a long-range fighter too—but could his compact pistol penetrate thick layers of sand without someone covering him?

Shaun, on the other hand, was a solid tank. A defender. And right now, Tyson needed someone to watch his back. Someone who could stand tall beside him. That made the decision easier.

He selected Shaun’s name.

In a flash, just like the others before him, Shaun dropped from the sky in full summoning mode.

"Serge!" Shaun shouted, slamming into the ground with force. His armor spread like wildfire across his body, forming a towering shield on his arm. "I am ready to die!"

"We don’t do that here," Tyson replied, offering a half-smile. "Just lend me your hand."

Shaun nodded without hesitation. "To the best of my abilities, Serge!"

[Current Points: 1]

Shaun had cost 8 points—equal to his power level. But to Tyson, he was worth every bit.

Tyson and Shaun charged at the nearest giant.

Shaun took the first hit head-on, slamming his massive shield into the sand giant’s incoming fist with a boom. Using that shield as a springboard, Tyson launched high into the air and landed squarely on the giant’s head.

"You’re next."

Ken lay on the heated sand, exhausted and bruised. The second wave had been brutal.

Tyson had summoned both Ken and Lara—using every point wisely. Together, with their combined skills, the entire team managed to bring down all the sand golems.

[Wave Two Cleared...]

[Next Wave Begins in 10 Minutes... The Third and Final Wave.]

[Be Ready, Humans] [ Boss Monster Will Appear.]

Everyone’s eyes flicked toward the system’s message, reading it with growing unease.

[Current Points: 54]

"Tyson, be ready. This next one will be harder than anything you’ve faced before," Edward’s voice came through the battle room speakers. "I’ll assign the best support available. Stand by."

"Okay, Dad," Tyson replied, then turned to the others. "Guys, we’ve got enough points. We might get the best people again"

"With 54 points?" Red scoffed. "Yeah right, they’ll probably send us some weaklings"

"I don’t want anyone," Alex muttered, sprawled out on the ground.

"Yeah, fight on your own next time," Blue grumbled, eyes half-closed as he stared at the sky.

Lara looked down at her feet. "I—I’m sorry, Senior. I stayed quiet the whole time. I let you down."

Tyson smiled and ruffled her pink hair. "You did your best. I’m glad to have you all by my side."

"Us too, Serge," Shaun added.

[Ding! Two Volunteers Found.]

The first was Rudra—the tech genius equipped with drone-based weaponry.

The second was a support-type ranger, the kind with twice as many nano-bots in his suit—like Captain Sam. This was a Third-Type Ranger: healers and support specialists.

Weapon-based. combat type, Healers. The Holy Trinity of Meta-bot wearers.

Rudra plopped down beside Tyson, yawning.

Red squinted at the high-tech earring glinting in Rudra’s ear—the condensed form of his meta-bot.

"Will ya stop staring?" Rudra muttered.

"What’s your superpower?" Red asked.

"I’m rich," Rudra replied flatly,

The support ranger was already moving efficiently—deploying nano-bots into the team’s suits, refueling their depleted reserves.

"Take it, Sergeant. You’ll need it." He transferred a large cluster of nano-bots into Alex’s armor."All done, it seems."

"Thanks," Blue gave a lazy thumbs-up. "I’m back up to 84 reserves, thanks to you."

"No worries," the healer smiled.

"Do you fight as well?" Ken asked, lifting his head off the sand."Or are we stuck saving your butt?"

"I can fight," the healer said, "but I’m not the best. I’ll stay low until you need me."

"Fair enough," Rudra said, stretching. "Stick by me when things get messy. I’ll keep you alive."

"Messy?" Ken asked, eyebrows raised. "This isn’t messy enough for you?"

"Nope," Rudra grinned. "What’s coming next will be far more dangerous. That’s what our leader told me." He leaned back with a confident smirk. "In short—I’m your best shot at surviving it."

"Grrr," Blue growled, sitting up slightly. "Look who’s getting cocky just ’cause he has more power points than us."

"Quite the opposite, actually," Rudra replied, still smiling. "You’ll see. And when you do, remember color blue head..." He looked at Blue, "Because the monster we’re about to face won’t be anything like what we’ve seen so far. You’ll need air support more than anything else."

"What does that mean, Lieutenant?" Shaun asked, "Can you share what Sir Edward told you?"

Rudra didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he raised his hand and pointed toward a towering stone pillar in the distance.

"Look there."

Everyone turned.

A growing cloud of dust spiraled into the sky, twisting and swelling like something alive.

"A desert storm?" someone asked, shielding their eyes from the glare.

"no," Rudra replied solemnly. "That’s not just a storm. That’s a Haboob."He paused, letting the weight of the word settle in.

"That’s our boss monster. It’s not just a creature—it’s the storm itself. We’ll need to find its core and destroy it before it consumes everything."

Shaun’s eyes widened. "What? How can we fight a... a storm?"

Everyone tensed. The idea of fighting something without a solid form—a swirling mass of sand and destruction—was terrifying. In an environment like that, visibility would be near zero, movement restricted, and the heat unbearable.

And somewhere inside all of that... was the core they had to destroy.

"Now you know why I’m your trump card," Rudra said, "And yes—there will be monsters inside. Both big and small. Think of it as a battlefield within chaos itself."

"Fuck," Blue sat up, now fully alert. He looked at the system timer.

[Time Remaining: 00:11]

"Even generals would struggle to take that thing down alone," Shaun murmured. "This... this is madness."

"We’ll find a way," Tyson said quietly but firmly. "Guys... we can do this. We will do this."
