Chapter 106: Asking for a advice

Elria,

Tyson rested his head in Nancy’s lap while they both sat on the park bench. He was deep in thought as Nancy’s fingers brushed against the triangular-shaped metallic Meta-bot on his chest.

"Does it seriously listen to you?" Nancy asked, a little skeptical.

She had heard from Steve that Ryuk’s Meta-bot strangely talked to him, and Tyson had said something similar. But unlike Ryuk, Tyson had never claimed his Meta-bot could talk—only that it listened and reacted in its own way, almost as if it had a will of its own.

"Yeah," Tyson said, glancing up at her—at her heaving chest and the way her eyes looked down at him with curiosity.

"Excuse me? Sir?" Nancy tapped the Meta-bot. "Are you listening?"

"He doesn’t respond to anyone besides me—" Before Tyson could finish, the Meta-bot blinked white light. "Seriously?"

He sat up, frowning. "You really like to make a fool of me, don’t you? Like in the last fight—you nearly got me killed."

The Meta-bot blinked once—yes—just as Tyson had trained it. One blink for yes, two for no.

Nancy stifled a laugh. "Don’t be like that. I think it’s just a baby." She lovingly touched the Meta-bot again, as if it were truly a child. "Lil Whitey."

Tyson paused, his gaze softening. The woman he loved most was right in front of him, yet he struggled to find the courage to confess his feelings. He had long wanted to propose—to ask her to marry him—and after Alex’s wedding, those feelings had only grown stronger, despite his hesitation.

Nancy raised a brow, a faint blush coloring her cheeks as she brushed a lock of hair behind her ear. "So... Alex and Sera went to the farmhouse, huh."

Tyson didn’t respond. He just watched her quietly, his eyes tracing the way her fingers moved over her hair.

"Sera was so happy, you know... after getting—" She paused for a moment, her gaze shifting to him. "Married to Alex."

"Was she?" Tyson asked softly, leaning in a little closer. He could smell her perfume—light, addictive and familiar.

Nancy nodded gently as she noticed how close he’d gotten. Tyson’s eyes lingered on her lips.

"I think she was the happiest I’ve ever seen her," Nancy whispered.

Tyson closed the small gap between them, brushing his lips gently against hers. It wasn’t hurried—it was a slow and passionate kiss while he kept looking at her.

Nancy’s eyes fluttered shut as she kissed him back resting her hand on his Meta-bot and inviting him.

He traced his finger down her back as she began breathing in an erratic manner, excited and a little shy.

Just then, they heard approaching footsteps. Nancy quickly pushed Tyson away, and he straightened up as his team appeared.

"Boss!" Bee shouted, grinning wide. "We finally did it—we gained a power point!"

Shaun and Ken followed behind. Shaun paused, sensing they might’ve interrupted something, while Ken was grinning from ear to ear.

"Two freaking points! I know—I’m a genius!" Ken announced proudly.

"You idiot—" Tyson was about to glare, but Nancy pinched his side. "Ahh—!"

"That’s awesome, guys. Congratulations!" Nancy smiled, standing up. "Keep up the good work. We’re all counting on you."

Ken scratched the back of his head, thinking he might’ve just impressed the goddess with his brilliance.

"It wasn’t much," Shaun muttered. "He only gained two power points after enhancement."

"Speak for yourself!" Ken shouted. "You only got one, Shaun-boy!"

"What’s wrong with one?" Bee protested. "I got one too—and I think I could even take on you, boss!"

Ken’s expression soured. "Really? You’ve got the nerve to—"

"Guys," Tyson cut in, standing up. A slight chill entered his voice. "Let’s meet at the training ground. I want to see your growth."

The three of them fell quiet instantly. They could sense that Tyson wasn’t going to let this interruption slide. They had, unfortunately, walked in at exactly the wrong moment. Now, they’d pay for it in sweat and pain—he’d make sure of it.

Ken and Bee exchanged a look of regret. Shaun sighed and shook his head. "I should’ve stayed with Lara... training on my own instead of following these idiots."

Nancy giggled and shook her head. "How about cold coffee first? You guys need to celebrate one way or another."

"YES!" Ken and Bee shouted in unison. Who would turn down a kind offer from their beloved goddess? Unlike their terrifying leader, she was like the shining sun.

Tyson stood speechless, his anger boiling inside him. What should he do to make them suffer? A 20km run? Or ten minutes of back-to-back sparring?

"Love?" Nancy whispered softly, slipping her hand into his. "Shall we?"

Tyson’s frustration melted. His smile returned—soft, helpless, completely disarmed by her. He’d melted along with his anger... and why wouldn’t he? She was too precious to resist.

The trio walked ahead, still bickering playfully, while Nancy and Tyson followed behind, hand in hand.

"Where is Lara?" Tyson asked.

Nancy’s hand tightened slightly around his, but her expression remained composed.

"She gained two power points," Shaun replied. "She wanted more, so she stayed back to train."

"Wow... that girl is persistent," Tyson mumbled.

After their enhancements, Shaun had reached eight power points, followed by Ken at nine and Bee at six. Lara, on the other hand, had pushed herself to thirteen—but she hadn’t joined them.

Despite gaining two points, Lara felt she had let her senior down. She was devastated, believing she had fallen short of expectations. Overwhelmed by the weight of her disappointment, she chose to isolate herself in the training room, unable to face Tyson or the rest of the team. While the others celebrated, she remained alone, punishing herself in silence.

The next day, in Edward’s room.

Tyson paced back and forth while Edward sat comfortably in his luxurious chair, a proud smile on his face as he watched his son.

"You’ve fought Coco, faced Blue, and dealt with more than your fair share of chaos," Edward said. "Why are you scared now?"

"You don’t understand, Father," Tyson replied, his voice tense. "It’s harder than you think. What if... she refuses? What if she says she doesn’t want to get married?"

"She won’t," Edward said confidently. "Trust me. I know it."

Tyson let out a long sigh. "Okay, then how about this? Can you tell me how you proposed to Alex’s mom?"

Edward went quiet for a moment, then cleared his throat awkwardly. "L-like a true gentleman, I went to her and—"

The AI chimed in, "General is lying... Miss Rogers proposed to him because he was denser than mercury. Her words, not mine."

Edward’s face darkened. "Who told you to speak?! I’m telling you, Tyson, AI can be dangerous—they even lie!"

Tyson frowned as Edward tried to defend himself, but before he could say more, the AI projected a short video.

In the clip, Alex’s mother approached Edward with flowers and dropped to one knee, proposing as if she were the man in the relationship.

Edward’s eyes widened in horror. He buried his face in both hands, peeking through his fingers to watch anyway.

"I have proof," the AI added helpfully.

"Wow, Dad. You were really lucky," Tyson said, shaking his head. "I should’ve known—you’re hopeless when it comes to relationships."

Edward chuckled as Tyson finally left the room.

He turned to the AI and smiled. "Can you play that part again?"

The AI obliged, and Edward watched the clip on loop—his eyes soft with love and nostalgia.

----

"Now what should I do?" Tyson muttered as he strolled through the garden. "Should I call Alex? But will he even help? I bet he’s just as clueless as me... Sera made it easy for him. Unlike me."

He slumped onto the bench, sighing heavily. "Should I ask Seraphina for help?"

The Meta-bot blinked once.

"Ah, there you are," Tyson murmured, not even glancing at the triangular-shaped bot on his chest. "Got any advice?"

One blink.

"Oh, then enlighten me, dear god," he said sarcastically. The Meta-bot stayed silent. Tyson sighed again. "Right. I forgot—you’re mute. What an idiot I am."

The Meta-bot blinked repeatedly in protest, but Tyson ignored it. He leaned back, staring up at the clouds. He had faced powerful rogues, near-death battles... and now he was scared of one girl?

Why am I even afraid? he asked himself. I can do this... right?

But how?

Sera wasn’t in the city, and he had no one else to turn to. Just as despair began creeping in again, a wild thought struck him—and his eyes lit up.

"Blue!" he said with a growing grin, standing up with sudden energy. "Of course. If anyone knows how to charm women, it’s that annoying rogue."

Tyson sat in Blue’s room, arms crossed, saying nothing. Blue stared at him, eyes narrowed, clearly annoyed by the silence.

"You think I’m some kinda love guru or something?" Blue finally said, breaking the quiet. "Why the hell are you even here, man? I was enjoying my extremely boring life inside this tiny-ass room... and then you show up, asking this?"

Tyson shrugged. "It’s serious."

"I know it’s serious. But why should I care?" Blue stood up, pacing. "You’re a Ranger. I’m a Rogue. That’s the line between us—we’re enemies."

Tyson slowly rose to his feet. "You know... Emily was asking about something earlier."

Blue stopped pacing. "Emily?"

"Yeah," Tyson said casually, brushing imaginary dust off his sleeve. "But forget it. We’re enemies,"

Blue immediately sat back down, straightening up. "Look, I mean, I could give you a few pointers. We’re... distant friends, yeah? That’s why we’re standing so far apart."

Tyson gave him a dry smile. "Man, I hate you."

"Mutual," Blue muttered. "But go on, Romeo. Tell me before I remember I have better things not to do."
