Chapter 1304: Chapter 1323: Heartache
"You’re right!" Jiuming Ying clapped his hands in approval, "Your family shamelessly snatched Jiang Yang away, claiming to offer him the best future, so why come looking for us?"
"Who’s looking for you?" Little Wang muttered under his breath, not convinced.
But no one paid attention to what he said.
"Hurry up and don’t block the way, waiting to have breakfast!"
Wei Qin stepped aside to let them through, and the pair left without a backward glance, getting in the car.
Watching the car drive away, Little Wang almost choked on the exhaust fumes, his eyes welling up with tears. "Wei Qin, why didn’t you clarify Jiang Yang’s situation to Jiang Nanfei? If you just explain it, I believe she wouldn’t give up on Jiang Yang."
"No! She would still give up," Wei Qin felt a chill in his heart, unable to understand how Jiang Nanfei could be so cold-hearted, or perhaps someone had persuaded her?
How could she change overnight to a point where no weaknesses could be found?
"Impossible!" Little Wang had seen with his own eyes how good Jiang Nanfei was to Jiang Yang, how much she cared.
"It is not that Jiang Nanfei gave up on Jiang Yang, but that we joined forces to force Jiang Yang to give up on Jiang Nanfei." Wei Qin closed his eyes in pain, struggling to keep his emotions from fluctuating too much.
And he dared not let his emotions surge, not letting negative feelings take control of him.
"Did we do something wrong?" Little Wang asked, trembling, "But we didn’t do anything! It was clearly Jiang Dechun’s idea; he took the initiative!"
"I added fuel to the fire; I could have stopped Uncle Jiang, but I didn’t."
Little Wang fell silent, confused, struggling to keep up with Wei Qin’s train of thought.

Jiuming Ying said he would take Nan Fei to have the most luxurious breakfast in Imperial City, but in fact, he brought her to a breakfast stall at East City Farmers’ Market. They ate peppered soup, mixed dumplings, and soup dumplings. The bustling market was a stark contrast to the academic district’s environment.
It reminded Nan Fei of her hometown, of the times when Bei Jiang took her to the farmers’ market for breakfast.
Staring at the vinegar bottle in front of her, she zoned out and couldn’t snap back to reality for a long time.
Jiuming Ying arrived with a tray full of food and cheerfully said, "Stop daydreaming and eat! Let me tell you, despite the unimpressive surroundings, I used to skip classes to eat here with Bei Jiang during college. It wasn’t this expensive back then, fifty cents a bowl, and now it’s gone up to a dollar."
He picked up his chopsticks and quickly finished off a bowl of wontons.
"Their Qianli Xiang mixed dumplings have the most authentic taste; Bei Jiang loved them."
"Really? If it’s something that guy likes, it must be good." Nan Fei, hearing that it was Bei Jiang’s favorite, picked up her chopsticks and tried one, agreeing, "It is indeed delicious."
"See? I didn’t lie to you, did I?"
Nan Fei gave a thumbs up, and though she didn’t have much of an appetite, she finished a bowl of wontons.
Jiuming Ying ate a bowl of wontons, five buns, and a basket of soup dumplings. Even after finishing, he still looked unsatisfied and said, "You’ve eaten too little; it’s affecting my appetite. If Bei Jiang were here, the two of us would at least triple this amount! And there’s not enough vinegar; every time the owner sees Bei Jiang coming, he almost wants to hide the vinegar bottle."
Jiuming Ying teased with a chuckle: "That guy, he needs to dip everything in vinegar."
"I’ve seen him dip Yangzhou fried rice in vinegar," Nan Fei recalled. Back then, she hadn’t fallen for him yet and wasn’t very nice to him, but that guy never cared.
It had only been a week since he left, and she was already missing him so much it hurt.
