President Limey had truly narrowly avoided the death’s door. She would have long died if the auto heal skill’s healing property were any lower. At best, the healing skill had averted the risk of death by slowing down the blood loss.

However, the beacon of hope lit no further than that. And maybe she has already fallen into a coma.

There must be something done immediately to prevent her from dying. She needed to be patched immediately—All these thoughts swirled inside Tenji’s mind.

Tenji immediately moved in to take action.

He manifested the Book of Enma in his hand and bought <HP Recovery Ground Lantern Cherry> and <Sanzu River’s Origin Water> from Hell’s old lady using six points immediately. There was no shred of hesitation on his face. If not now, then when? was his thought. Yeah, it took him much hard work to save those points, but was it not for precisely these moments? So there was no need to think twice.

However, even that decision was nothing more than a band-aid solution. The HP recovery ground lantern cherry would work only when they’re bit by one’s own will and willingly swallow them down. He didn’t know why yet, but ‘a strong will’ was a must to activate the effect of it.

But there’s no way President Limey could muster up any will, not when she was in moribund state. Still, as long as it can sustain her thread of life even a second longer—that was all he thought. Maybe some explorers with healing skills might be on their way to her. This was the heart of battle but there was still a sliver of hope.

Just a bit, hang on just a bit more—Tenji prayed inside. He tightly clenched ground lantern cherry in his hand as if to flatten them and then tossed it into an aluminium can. He gave the can a good shake to blend in water and ground lantern cherry before sprinkling it all over her wound

The slightly reddish liquid sears the skin with a sizzling sensation.

“Ugh...…”

An anguished groan escaped out of President Limey’s mouth. The voice was so feeble even Tenji had to strain his ears to the limit to hear it. Even so, he just apologised inside his mind ‘Please bear with me for now’ and continued sprinkling that blend over wounds.

It had, however, stopped the bleeding immediately.

“This is the best I can do. So please don’t give up yet. In the meantime, I...…I will protect you.”

Tenji gently whispered in her ear and quietly stood up. He was already holding the resummoned Flame Demon Blade in his hand, while the two Flame Demon’s Twin Swords were hovering on each side of him.

The underlings were already creeping to where they were.

Chisato and Fukuyama did say to ‘leave the back to us,’ but the waves of underling with no apparent end to them was truly a tall task for the two. Not when they were pouring like crazy.

Chisato was like jack of all trades, but even if her abilities were notches above the rest, the thing she specialised was truly no more than few. Meanwhile, Fukuyama had already informed them that he doesn't have any effective offensive skill to deal with monsters above mid first-grade rank.

The best they could do was to hold them for seconds, but no more than a minute. He already knew from the beginning that it would be unreasonable to ask for anymore than that. Nevertheless, he couldn’t be any more glad to have their support. Atleast, just now had been truly a moment of life and death that he couldn’t have averted without them for sure.

(I can’t say I am actually an expert in the tactic of fighting while protecting someone but——)

Tenji murmured inside his mind and hoisted the Flame Demon Blade toward heaven.

“<Slashing Bond>.”

Fwoop A reddish-black flame pillar shot toward the sky.

(I can at least bring in the attention of others. I can take down the monster. So——)

Then he held the Red Demon Blade in a horizontal manner. And a reddish-black flame sparked once again, covering the blade in itself.

“Please hang in for just a bit more. I still have a mountain of things to ask of you.”

He silently took a deep breath and focused his attention from Limey to the monster and swung the Flame Demon Blade without a single hesitation.
