Vol. 4 - Ch. 156 - Provisional member of Chariot

President Limey beckoned at the three, apparently asking them to come and join in the ring of commanders around her desk.

Tenji and company followed her instructions and squeezed themselves in the tiny space available between Commander Kujou and Addofkart.

In the meanwhile, other explorers present stared at each of their actions with great scrutiny, whipping out an atmosphere as if to see they could be used or were just some riff-raffs.

Seeing the trio taking their place, President Limey roamed her gaze at everyone around present, exuding an 'no arguments allowed' vibe. Then she shot an implication-filled gaze at Illonica next to her.

While she didn't say anything, Illonica got her cue from that gaze and started operating the tablet in her hands. A few seconds later, she started sending some kind of document to another explorer's tablet.

Confirming that, President Limey said, "Please see it with your own eyes. These are the records of things they have done after coming to Mallorca. I believe it should solve your doubt about their strength. Of course, they will be an additional force to reckon with for us."

Everything from sorting out their action to immediately disturbing them to the explorers---it was like she was just waiting for them.

The professional explorers present there swiftly started skimming through the materials and after a minute or two, they offered their 'no objection' opinion to President Limey.

Kujou, in the end, appeared as if she had found something amusing as she took her time to glance at Tenji's burly features, an intrepid grin floating on that face. Though it lasted for a second before and swiftly turned into a regretful one, like a sunny day replaced by overcasted sky.

"Uh-huh~, so this is the backstory huh. And here I had been wondering why a rising guild like us was suddenly put in a position of such importance...you really are quite a black-belliied character you know, Limey? Or was it Illonica's doing? Hmph, did you think I will not notice it?"

"Dear me, we have of course properly looked at you as well. I believe you are well worth all of this, after all, not everyone could have pushed their guild to the japan's top 10 guild like you in just eight years. I am glad to see you're quick to take on cues. And...I believe you wouldn't mind listening to my request, right?"

"Just leave it to me. In fact, please let me handle it. And so, it's going to be a rollercoaster ride but put your all. Tenji Amagi, Fuyuki Kuro and Chisato Shiranei."

The trio had no way of knowing what they were talking about. But either way, that was enough for Kujou to understand Limey's intention and approached Tenji. Suddenly, she extended her hand.

Tenji reflexively grabbed that hand, not knowing what was happening and offered his doubt.

"Err, Can you explain what is going on?"

"You three are going to be temporary guild members of Chariot from this moment. What am I saying is......you're going to join the war under my command."

But being marooned away from the conversation, the three still couldn't wrap their hand around the situation. Kujou sensed their perplexedness from their puzzled expression and let out an annoyed 'haa...' sigh. Then she spoke.

"I will simplify things for you. An uprising guild like Chariot shouldn't be in charge of a duty as serious as this and be favorably treated like this. Even if you brush these aside for once, it was unreal for us to be on the same pedestal as Addoffkrt or Girde here, or should have been."

A flash of expression like 'they really got me there' appeared on her face as she spoke, and continued.

"I thought 'ah, finally our effort has impressed Limey' at first......but that was just a flight of fantasy. and simply an exchange for you. In short, we are just extra like a package deal tied in with you. Isn't that right? Limey."

"You're right......saying would be a bit misleading, but, the general gist is so. But if I may add so, you're more than just spare tires. One must have the qualities to uphold the heavy responsibility, and one that can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Honnou. But it is an equally steep path."

"You bet. I have been having the same thought all the time. But it's because of the adversity that is a golden opportunity for us. So I will have you know I am truly grateful, Limey."

"Why, it's my pleasure of course."

Limey replied back with her characteristic stone-still expression. Nevertheless, Kujou wasn't not a bit dissatisfied and was completely intent on riding on this opportunity. Besides---

The chance of commanding the two prodigy---Tenji Amagi and Fuyuki Kurou, even if for a short time, was worthwhile enough to take over the task.

'Was it not the perfect stage to show their qualities, huh?' was Kujou's thought.
