Daniel left the pagoda without hesitation and saw that Nairok and Zargorth were sitting outside the entrance.

The two of them immediately turned around as they felt the door open, and when they saw Daniel had finally come out and was completely safe, they rushed toward him.

"My Lord, thank the heavens you're safe!"

"If it weren't for the fact that we can still feel your presence, we would've thought something had happened to you!"

"Alright, alright, as you can see, I'm fine." Daniel smiled.

The Fallen nodded in relief. They had been worried the whole time, but fortunately, their Lord was unharmed.

"Let's head back. I told Andreas and Ilaris that I'd be back in a day at most… but it's already been a bit more than that." He sighed.

Honestly, he hadn't expected to stay inside the pagoda for so long. Though, it didn't feel like too much time had passed in there.

He doubted those illusions had actually lasted for days. At worst, it should've been only two days, right?

But when he saw the look in his Fallen's eyes, he realized something was wrong.

"What happened?"

"Actually, my Lord, you were in the pagoda for a bit more than just one day... quite a bit more," Nairok said with hesitation.

"How long was I in there?" A bad feeling rose in Daniel's chest.

"About a month..." Nairok replied.

"What?" Daniel felt like his world was falling apart.

He had been inside the pagoda for a whole month? A freaking month?

"Damn it—forget Andreas and Ilaris for now, it's been a whole month since I last returned to my mother and sister?" He couldn't stop thinking about what his mother would do to him.

"We need to leave the mountains immediately." Without wasting time, he canceled their summonings and pulled them back into his Spiritual Sea.

A month wasn't a short time. He was sure Andreas and Ilaris had assumed he died and already left the Erin Free Zone.

But right now, he didn't care about them at all. He could find them whenever he wanted and get what he needed from Andreas.

The real concern was what had happened to his sister and mother during this whole month.

Without delay, he used Fallen Step and teleported to the exit of the mountains where he had left one of his Fallen behind.

He canceled that Fallen's summoning, then summoned Vorak, mounted him, and ordered him to return to the Erin Free Zone.

At the same time, he contacted Azrak and Pride through his mind-link to ask if his mother and sister were alright.

Fortunately, both of them said that his mother and sister were fine and that nothing had happened to them. However, they did mention that some problems had come up and that it would be best if he returned as soon as possible.

Daniel let out a breath of relief after ending the mind-link with Pride and Azrak. Thankfully, nothing had happened to them during his absence.

As for the issue, he could already guess—it probably had something to do with Tiana. After arriving at the Erin Free Zone, he would contact Andreas, and if they had already left, he'd leave the Celestial Domain too.

Fortunately, now that he had become stronger, so had the rest of his Fallen. That meant Vorak's speed had increased significantly.

It didn't take long for them to reach the entrance of the Free Zone. Daniel dismounted and canceled Vorak's summoning.

Upon entering the city, he pulled out a communication spell that Andreas had given him and activated it using his Spiritual Power.

"Andreas? You there?"

"Daniel? You're alive? Where the hell have you been? We thought you were dead!" Andreas' voice suddenly echoed in his mind.

"Something came up in the mountains. Where are you? Did you leave?"

"At least you're still breathing. No, we're still in the Erin Free Zone. Actually, we ran into some problems here."

"What happened?" Daniel frowned as he asked.

"It's hard to explain like this. Come to the Governor's Mansion. Ilaris and I are here." Andreas then cut the mind-link.

Daniel took out the map he had bought earlier to find the location of the Governor's Mansion. After locating it, he started heading in that direction.

But on his way there, he noticed something strange in the city.

The guards… there were a lot of guards and soldiers.

The last time he was here, he had barely seen one or two. But now, there were a ton of them everywhere.

It looked like the city was under martial law or something.

Daniel had a bad feeling and decided to use Death Energy to create a mask over his face.

He didn't know what had happened, but his intuition was warning him again. He didn't want to get involved in another mess, so he decided to hide his face for now.

It didn't take long for him to reach the Governor's Mansion, but the guards stopped him and naturally didn't let him in.

Daniel didn't say anything. He just contacted Andreas again, and Andreas told him he'd come out right away.

Fortunately, he didn't have to wait long before Andreas showed up. After a short talk with the guards, Daniel was finally allowed inside.

"You disappeared for a whole month! What the hell were you doing in those mountains?" Andreas asked, surprised, as soon as Daniel entered.

"I got caught up in something. Forget that for now—tell me, what happened here? Why are you still in this place?" Daniel changed the subject.

Of course, he couldn't tell anyone about the pagoda. Even if he trusted Andreas, it would be stupid to mention it.

"Well, it's kind of a long story. But to sum it up: after we split up and came to the Erin Free Zone, we just rested on the first day. Then we waited a few days for you, but you never showed up. We thought you were dead. Ilaris was really upset, but there was nothing we could do."

"We decided to go back to my family. After all, two descendants of Lionheart had been killed, and all because of the elves' schemes. That needed to be reported to the family's High Council."

"But before we could leave, we found out the whole Erin Free Zone was surrounded."

"Surrounded? Who the hell would dare to surround a Free Zone in the Central Plains?" Daniel frowned.

Free Zones weren't under guild control, but they were under their protection. Any attack on one would be seen as an insult to the world's guilds.

He doubted anyone other than the Dragons had the guts or power to do something like that.

"Yeah, I thought it was ridiculous too. But turns out, it was the elves. They sent an army here to capture Ilaris."
