Chapter 127: Teaming Up To Defeat An Elf

Chapter 127: Teaming Up To Defeat An Elf

"That was a really interesting love story," Daniel clapped loudly.

He honestly never expected that the branch of a tree would be the lover of the Dark Elf leader.

But isn’t that just weird? A tree branch as a lover? Sure, the branch turned into a female Dark Elf, but still, it’s weird...

Daniel stood up from the ground and looked at Elarion and the elf girl, who were staring at him in shock and disbelief.

"I’m sure I pierced your heart, so how...?" the elf girl couldn’t believe what she was seeing with her own eyes.

How was this human still alive after having his heart pierced?

"Well, not to brag, but I’m immortal," Daniel shrugged and said.

In reality, he didn’t die at all—his heart was just pierced. Before dying, he used Mana Healing to completely recover. Thankfully, he didn’t even have to use one of his extra lives.

Also, he never fully trusted this girl, Liara, because he had felt her hostility toward him.

Hostility without any reason was strange to him, so he had been keeping an eye on her.

But even he didn’t expect that "Liara" was just a cover and this girl was actually an elf.

Of course, it also made him admire her a little. Even though the girl had changed her appearance, neither he nor Andreas had noticed it.

That made him think—what would he do if he faced enemies like that in the future? For example, an enemy who changed their face to look like his mother or sister?

How would he be able to tell who was real and who was fake in that situation? That’s when he realized he needed to find a way to deal with it.

"Anyway, I really didn’t like that you attacked me, so forget about walking out of here alive," he said coldly to the elf girl.

Even if killing this elf would have serious consequences, he wasn’t going to forgive the bastard who tried to kill him.

"Hmph, I don’t know how you survived, but I’ll make sure you die this time," the elf girl—Laina—growled coldly.

"Two annoying idiots," Elarion grunted and sent a wave of force toward both of them.

Daniel and Laina dodged immediately and jumped to opposite sides of the chamber.

"How about we team up to kill him first?" Daniel thought for a moment and said to Laina.

"Absolutely not," Laina said without hesitation and charged at Elarion.

Daniel shrugged and moved toward Andreas and Ilaris—luckily, Andreas was still alive, and Ilaris was still in shock.

It would’ve been a big loss if Andreas died. Daniel really didn’t want to lose an A-rank item and the invitation to the House of Ten Thousand Treasures.

Then, he turned his attention to the fight between the elf girl and Elarion. Both were fighting evenly, but with a bit of observation, it was clear that Elarion had the upper hand. If things continued like this, the elf girl would definitely lose.

’Should I step in? Or let one of them die and then take down the other?’ Daniel thought for a moment. With his Fallen Ones, he was sure he could fight both of them.

But his chances of winning were low. His only B-rank Fallen was Zargort, and Zargort alone didn’t stand much of a chance against these two.

So the best option was to wait. But who knew how long their fight would last?

He took a step and appeared behind the elf girl. She was shocked but didn’t have time to react before Daniel punched her in the side and sent her flying.

"What are you doing, human?" Elarion stopped and looked at Daniel suspiciously.

"All three of us are enemies, but if I wait for your fight to end, it’ll take too long. How about we take her down together, and then settle things between us?" Daniel offered.

Unlike Laina, Elarion didn’t reject the offer immediately. In fact, he was a bit curious why this human wasn’t taking the chance to run away.

Could there be something wrong with this human’s brain circuits? But hey, that worked in his favor.

"Fine. But don’t expect me to go easy on you afterward."

Meanwhile, Laina slowly got up, eyes full of killing intent locked on Daniel. She hadn’t expected this bastard to hit her from behind.

But at the same time, she felt a bit glad. She wasn’t stupid—she had realized the fight wasn’t going in her favor. She had planned to use the item given to her by the High Council of Elves to defeat Elarion.

But Daniel’s presence was a major variable. After using the item, she’d be seriously weakened and unable to defend herself.

If this human attacked her afterward, she’d really die. But now that he was part of the fight, she could use the item to take down both of them at once.

After that, she just needed to grab Ilaris and quickly escape the Central Plains.

"Teaming up with a human? A foreigner at that? Looks like you’ve sunk low," Laina said mockingly to Elarion.

"As long as it means destroying you, I’ll team up with anyone," Elarion shrugged.

Laina whispered a spell and a green spear of light formed in her hand. At the same time, the ground beneath Elarion and Daniel started to shake.

The ground under Daniel cracked. He jumped back and drew his sword, shouting:

[Destruction Strike]

His sword slammed into the ground with overwhelming force, releasing a wave of dense red energy toward Laina. Laina quickly used the skill [Falling Leaves Throw], scattering a bunch of magical blades around her, but Daniel’s wave still hit her arm and sent her flying several meters back.

"You still... haven’t seen my real power," Laina growled as she stood.

Right at that moment, Elarion used [Shadow Dash], emerging from the darkness and punching Laina hard. She tried to dodge but failed, and his punch tore into her shoulder.

"Little girl, I used to be one of the main generals in the Elf Royal Court," Elarion laughed.

"Sacred Tree, hear me! Technique: Vital Ring!" Laina screamed in pain and raised her hand.

Roots burst from the ground and wrapped around her body, healing her wounds rapidly. Then she extended her hand toward Daniel and Elarion, sending the roots to attack them.

Elarion suddenly turned from solid to liquid and hid in his shadow.

Daniel slashed through all the roots with his sword and burned them using the Ragzar Rings.

Daniel narrowed his eyes. It was time. He dashed forward and activated the [Flaming Sword] technique using the Ragzar Rings.

Flames sliced through the air, and just as Laina tried to defend herself, Elarion appeared behind her and attacked her legs, breaking her balance.

"This is the end!"

Daniel’s flaming sword struck Laina directly in the chest. A wave of fire and pressure slammed her into the wall.

"Is it over?" Daniel looked at her and asked.

Elarion narrowed his eyes. He doubted the High Council would send someone this weak.

Laina, clothes torn and bleeding, stood up with a twisted smile. Her eyes sparkled with the madness of someone who had bet everything on a final move.

"You thought it was over? No... I’m still the winner."

She opened her storage ring and pulled out a shining item shaped like a golden burning seal. A suffocating energy filled the chamber.

"That? I didn’t expect the Council to give you something like that," Elarion frowned and immediately prepared to escape.
