Chapter 112: Endless Spirit Mountain II
Chapter 112: Endless Spirit Mountain II
"So that’s how it is," Daniel muttered as he read the reply someone had left on his comment, shaking his head.
It became clear that demons had a ranking system: Lesser Demons, Greater Demons, Noble Demons, Demon Dukes, Demon Emperors, Ancient Demons, and at the very top, Primal Demons.
The rankings were based on blood purity and power. An Ancient Demon was said to be on par with a Heavenly Climber.
It was said that Ancient Demons possessed a hereditary blood trait—immortality—similar to the immortality of Corrupted Beasts.
More specifically, their bodies carried the Law of Eternity. Their very existence was a natural source of a supreme law of eternity.
This made them not only one of the most powerful races in the world but also highly sought after.
Unfortunately, because of their immense power, no one dared even think about hunting them.
Still, there was a rumor—a wild one—that the corpse of an Ancient Demon was located in the Endless Spirit Mountain. Most considered the rumor laughable and baseless.
But what if it were true? If someone could find and study that corpse, they might be able to uncover the secret behind the immortality and its supreme source.
Even Daniel found himself tempted. He had always been obsessed with longevity and immortality. Unfortunately, he wasn’t strong enough to venture into the mountain’s core to locate the corpse.
After that, he closed the Online Community and went to sleep. He had to wake up early in the morning to return to the Celestial Domain.
Hours passed slowly as the moon gave way to the sun. Sunlight gently woke Daniel up.
He got out of bed and stretched a bit before heading downstairs for breakfast. The others were still asleep.
No surprise there. They had all stayed up late last night—apparently playing games? Daniel didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Even his mom had joined the two girls in playing.
After finishing breakfast, he went back upstairs, changed clothes, and put on his protective armor.
Luckily, returning to the Celestial Domain for the second time didn’t require using the Tower—he could enter from anywhere.
But before that...
"Azrak, come out," he summoned Azrak.
Upon being summoned, Azrak knelt before him. Even while kneeling, his head nearly touched the ceiling and looked like it might bring it down.
"Can you shrink yourself?" Daniel asked.
"Yes, my Lord," Azrak nodded and shrunk himself, his height dropping from three meters to two.
"That’s better. Alright, I want you to protect my family while I’m gone," Daniel said. Last time, he hadn’t left a guard behind, but this time he preferred to be cautious.
Especially since Tiana’s parents might show up. It was better to be safe.
"You know what? Pride should stay here too," he added after a moment of thought.
"I want one of you to protect my mom, and the other to protect my sister and her friend."
"My Lord, there’s no need to worry! I’ll protect them with my life!" Pride nodded respectfully.
Even if something happened, they could contact him—or he could see everything through the Fallen Vision.
’I want to enter the Celestial Domain.’

Daniel clicked on "Yes," and suddenly a light engulfed him. The scenery around him shifted, and in the next moment, he found himself back in the streets of Erin Free Zone.
Right where he had said goodbye to Eva. Wasting no time, Daniel began searching for a shop where he could buy a map.
He had no familiarity with the area and naturally needed a map. Thankfully, it didn’t take long, and he found a shop nearby.
"Hello, I’d like to buy a map of this whole region and the surrounding areas," he said.
"Welcome, young man. Sure, give me a moment." The shopkeeper, an old man, walked behind the display and brought back an old map for Daniel.
"Here you go. That’ll be ten silver coins."
Daniel paid the coins and took the map. Just before leaving the store, his eyes fell on a sword. It looked simple, but Daniel was sure it was a Rank C sword.
"Excuse me, is this for sale too? If so, how much?" He currently had no weapon, and even a Rank C sword was better than nothing.
"Of course. That one’s about two gold coins."
Daniel paid the gold coins, took the sword, and stored it in his inventory. He stepped out of the shop and opened the map.
"According to this map, we’re about two hours away from the mountains," he muttered. Reading the map was a bit tricky, but after fiddling with it for a few minutes, he got used to it.
The Erin Free Zone was a combination of several cities merged together into one large region. It was almost the size of several provinces back in his country.
Leaving the residential zone would take about thirty minutes on foot, and he couldn’t use Vorak in the city.
He followed the road and once he exited the city, summoned Vorak and mounted him. The rest of the journey to the Endless Spirit Mountain would be done on his beast.
It wasn’t long before he could see the mountain peaks in the distance. The closer they got, the darker the sky became.
The sky kept getting darker and darker until it felt like he had entered a region of permanent night. Strangely, there was no moon or stars.
Only the trees in the area emitted a faint glow. The glowing trees caught Daniel’s attention, and he approached one to inspect it.
To his surprise, the tree let out a sudden wail, and Daniel immediately backed off and decided to keep moving.
Soon, he spotted a circular trench surrounding the base of the mountain. It was deep and filled with some kind of purple liquid.
"According to the map, this should be the entrance to the mountain’s outer layer," he checked the map again and ordered Vorak to cross the bridge connecting the mountain to this side.
"The monsters here should only range from Rank F to B. Nothing to worry about." Daniel didn’t feel great about it, but he continued anyway.
What caught his attention on the map was a skull symbol marking the area he had just entered.
It made him wonder—did that mean danger zone or something?
Eerie howls echoed through the air. He could feel the scurrying of small creatures on the trees and in the bushes around him.
"Hm?" Suddenly, he sensed danger from above.
