Awakening of the Scheming Wife
Chapter 97: Brat? Who?

Chapter 97: Brat? Who?

"How could anyone not be impressed by her? Most importantly, she was doing it for the benefit of the students of our state. What is there in it to get rejected, right?"

Helena nodded, "Yes. You are right."

"It is that brat who played the prank who did not consider many things. Because of that prank, our state’s education system’s development had to be postponed, and my wife even had to suffer a few consequences for that action. I won’t let that brat be once I find him. Or her." While saying those words, Minister Morris glared at Helena. He emphasized the word ’her’ at the end.

He understood. It was Helena who planned that phone call to the airlines. She was the one responsible for his wife’s sufferings.

"Oh? What are you planning to do, Minister Morris?" Helena raised her eyebrows in excitement and asked him.

Minister Morris frowned when he saw her expression. What is she planning now? Isn’t she done with all her traps yet?

Anyway, he answered her seriously, "Of course I should teach that person a lesson. How could there be an action without consequences? Am I right?"

Helena nodded, "You are right indeed. But you are also wrong."

"What do you mean by that?" Minister Morris frowned and asked.

He did not understand where this girl was going with her words at all.

"I think instead of punishing that ’brat’, you should punish their guardian. Don’t you think so? I think if a person made a mistake, it was because their guardian did not keep them in check. What do you think, Professor Jones?" Helena replied seriously before asking Madam Morris with a smile.

’What does this girl mean? Does she want me to leave her and punish her father instead? Is that what she meant? What is wrong with her? Is she having a rift with that man Ford? Is that why she was saying these words? Like I will go along with her! Let’s see how you will save yourself after what you did.’

Vernon, too, frowned. He understood that Helena was the one who did that. He also knows that she had a problem with her father. He couldn’t help but wonder if she was trying to use Minister Morris to deal with her own father.

Even though what Father Ford had done to her was wrong, he couldn’t help but think that she was going a bit too far by involving Minister Morris to go against him like that.

Madam Morris, on the other hand, did not have all these thoughts. She seriously contemplated Helena’s words and nodded, "Hmm, you are indeed right. If that person’s guardian taught him good values, how would that person do such a thing? Indeed, their guardian should be warned."

Madam Morris could adapt to the conversation of others easily. Once Minister Morris pointed out that the person could be a girl as well, she started using the pronoun ’They’ instead of ’he’. But she was also against the thought of punishing people like Minister Morris. So, she said she would warn the guardian and not punish them.

Helena observed these little points in her speech as well. She couldn’t help but exclaim in her heart. [Uff! You should be a diplomat and not an Education Minister.]

Vernon did not understand why she was gushing and what made her think in such a way. But seeing her fangirling, he couldn’t help but smile.

Even though she was gushing and fangirling in her heart, on the surface, Helena looked serious as she nodded to Madam Morris’s words.

"You are right. Only if a person were taught good and learned to stay in their place could the others live a peaceful life. All the guardians should do a good job of raising their people. Otherwise, there will be many such ’brats’ who would run around trying to sabotage the other’s important events just because they think they are too important and they could do anything they want. They forget that even if they could do what they want, they will always face someone who can outdo them and punish them.

"Anyway, it was the guardian’s fault for not teaching them properly. So, instead of teaching the ’brat’, it is always better to teach that lesson to the ’brat’s guardian. That way, the guardian will know to tie a leash tightly.

"Don’t you think so, Minister Morris?"

Helena’s eyes turned cold as she spoke, and Minister Morris stiffened in his spot.

He understood.

He finally understood everything.

She sounded like she was talking about the brat who called about the bomb.

But it wasn’t the case at all.

Instead, she was talking about him.

The ’brat’ she was talking about was him.

He was the brat who didn’t know how to stay in his place and ran around to sabotage other people’s important events.

He did not know if he should laugh or cry.

He was actually stunned by a little girl’s gaze and words.

He is a Central Minister with power in his hands. Yet, he was overpowered by a little girl’s cold gaze? He couldn’t understand where she got all that power from.

"So, you want to punish the guardian instead of the person?" He asked, after taking a deep breath to calm himself. There is no way he would let himself be outdone by a little girl.

"Of course. Now, look at Grace. No matter what she did or what she suffered, in the end, her mother was scolded as well. Aren’t I right?" Helena casually shrugged and used Grace as an example.

But why did she bring Grace up again? Minister Morris frowned.

She was reminding him. She knows that he punished Grace just like he did to her.

Somehow the conversation between Helena and Professor Jones turned into a conversation between Helena and Minister Morris.

Finally, Madam Morris saw something as well. Even when Helena was talking to her, her gaze fell on Minister Morris sometimes.
