Awakening of the Scheming Wife -
Chapter 53: PDA? No, thank you!
Chapter 53: PDA? No, thank you!
Since Helena came to Leon’s birthday party after such an incident, it was clear that she had a reason to attend.
It was a no-brainer.
If even Faye could think of it, it wouldn’t be much difficult for her father to think of it either.
After a little investigation, he easily found out about the brief conversation between Vernon and Hubert.
He used his connections to make Hubert leave the city for a few days on work so that he wouldn’t be able to meet Helena as she wished.
The ’punishment’ he gave Helena was just that. He did not think he did anything wrong.
He just continued to smile as he crossed his arms casually and said, "If that young lady dared to say a word against my wife, then she had to be ready to face the consequences as well. I don’t care what she meant when she said those words. It is just a small lesson for her not to insult my wife."
"..." Faye had her mouth open, not knowing how to respond. She had been at the receiving end of this PDA for ages, and yet she couldn’t get used to it somehow.
She took a deep breath and then smirked. Her father looked at her dubiously, as he did not understand why she smirked like that all of a sudden.
"Dad. Your so-called ’punishment’ has lost its meaning without you realizing it, you know?" Faye suddenly said and then sat on the sofa while humming.
"Huh? What do you mean by that?" Her father asked, uncrossing his legs.
Faye continued with her smirk and she shrugged, "Well, she suffered, yes. But does she know why she had suffered? I am sure she was thinking that you did this because you were standing up for me. How would she learn her lesson of not talking about my mom later when she doesn’t know your reason at all?"
Faye’s father blinked his eyes. He suddenly felt that his daughter had become smart. He felt it was a miracle.
"Mhmm, you are right."
"Of course I am right," Faye raised her neck high in the air, showing off proudly.
"So, go to her and clarify this matter," Faye’s father ordered her out of the blue.
"Huh? What did you just say? I think my ears stopped working for a second there," Faye dug her ears, trying to clear them so she could hear him clearly this time.
"I am sure your ears are working very fine. Anyway, you just have to go to Helena and tell her everything clearly. Only then would she suffer for the correct crime."
"I am not going. Why should I go? No. If you want her to know, then you should tell her," Faye turned her head away from her father.
She thought of trapping her father to make it clear to Helena so that she wouldn’t be wrongfully accused by her.
But now, her father was trying to pull her into her own trap. How could she agree just like that?
"If you don’t go, then you can say good bye to your credit cards this month. I will block them immediately," Faye’s father ’casually’ threatened his daughter.
Like magic, it worked in a second. She sprung up to her feet and said, "I will go. I will go. I will go immediately. But this is not fair. I will tell my mom later that you are making use of your daughter by threatening her. Then I will see if she will support you or me, her daughter."
"Looks like you want to lose your car as well. I don’t mind taking those keys away from you," Faye’s father’s face darkened this time, and he warned her seriously.
He knows that if she goes to complain to his wife, she would definitely take their daughter’s side and not his.
"I can’t hear you. I don’t know what you are talking about. I am not here at all," Faye ran out of the house and shouted, escaping from her father before it was too late for her.

*Ding dong*
Vernon opened the door and was surprised to see Faye standing there.
"What are you doing here?" He wasn’t nice when he greeted her at all.
He hoped for the meeting between Helena and Hubert to go well, but Faye had disrupted his plans. How could he still talk to her nicely?
Seeing Vernon’s cold expression, Faye lost all the energy in her face. She looked like a drooped plant in an instant.
Vernon blinked his eyes. (Is she trying to perform a face-changing magic trick?)
If she was trying that, then she really seemed to succeed.
"Vernon, are you angry with me? Because of Helena?" With her lips pouted, she asked like an aggrieved child.
"You know why I am angry, right? Why are you even acting? Anyway, what are you doing here?" Vernon asked again.
"I came here to meet Helena." She lowered her head and answered in a voice so low that it almost resembled a mosquito’s.
"Why do you want to meet Helena?" Vernon asked her dubiously.
Clearly he did not trust Faye around Helena.
Faye only felt more defeated by his doubts. "I have something to tell her. Well, actually, I have to tell you as well. I think I will tell it to you both at the same time?"
Vernon observed her expression for a few seconds. He felt that if he could stay by their side, then Faye wouldn’t have a chance to hurt Helena, so it was actually a good idea.
He moved to the side and welcomed her inside after giving a nod.
Faye looked at his face and smiled, feeling happy that he was finally letting her inside his place.
She entered the house and looked around, studying the place.
"What are you doing here? Aren’t you satisfied after what you have done to me? You daddy’s little princess!" Helena mocked Faye as soon as she saw her.
