Chapter 22: Prank? Yes!

As soon as Grace had called out for Helena, everyone looked at them and started whispering to each other.

With Grace’s words, they felt for a second that Helena was having an affair with Tristan behind Vernon’s back.

After all, Vernon had ’cheated’ on his wife and that news came out in public on the day of their wedding. Which wife would be able to take it?

Maybe she felt hurt and went to drown her sorrows with another man?

But after listening to Helena’s words and how naturally Vernon acted when he met with Helena and Tristan, it was made clear that there is no such thing as an affair.

"Ha ha. What do you know? Second Master Jeffery was known as the master of pranks when he was in the school. When he was in high school, I heard that there wasn’t a single person, who wasn’t a victim of his pranking. Mind you, I said person and not student," the other person replied in a hushed tone as well.

"You mean he pranked on his teachers as well?"

"Not just teachers but even the principal. He did not even leave the cleaners and other staff members of the school. He was said to be the most naughtiest kid the school had ever seen in history."

"Wow, is that true? But isn’t that a bit too much? Isn’t he punished for bullying? You know how some pranks could go wrong even if made in a lighthearted sense?"

"That is the Second master Jeffery’s second specialty. Despite having the infamous name for his pranks, he had never once gone overboard. Each and every single person who ’suffered’ under his hands had laughed back. Even if they did not laugh, they just gave him a punch back and let the matter slide.

"From what I heard, Second Master Jeffery had this rule. If the person who was pranked by him felt hurt by him in any form, they could punch him in the face in front of the whole school and he wouldn’t retaliate. In his all of school years, there were a total of three students who punched him in his face. In front of the whole school nonetheless.

"Can you guess who those three were?"

"Who are they?"

"The first was the First Master Jeffery."

"Ha ha. As you know, First Master Jeffery was very cold and never liked these pranks or ’fun’ stuff. So as soon as the Second Master Jeffery completed his prank on him, he was punched straight in the face. After punching, the First master Jeffery took his books and calmly walked away as if he did not just punch his young brother and some blood came from his nostrils. I still remember how silent the entire school had gone at that moment. It could be said to be one of the legendary moments of the school’s history."

"Oh? You mean you saw that scene with your own eyes?"

"Of course. I was in the same school as them as well, after all."

"You mean, you were pranked by second master Jeffery as well?"

"Of course. How could I be left alone when everyone in the school was pranked by him?" He raised his chin, and he even looked proud when he said that.

So, during a casual chat with a normal friend, the topic of crushes and feelings came. Then someone said that if one person likes a girl, they would hear music ringing in their ears whenever they see the girl.

"I scolded the person for bluffing. Who would have thought, I met a girl a few days later and my heart felt struck by a cupid’s arrow. It was love at first sight for me."

The other person raised his eyebrow. he felt he understood where this story went, "So, you heard the music? And that girl was the prank to make you fall in love with her? Did she break your heart?"

Any love story in high school would end up with a heart break. Only one among a million would stand the storms and stand till marriage.

Since the topic was pranking, the friend was sure the girl made his good friend fall in love with her and broke up with him. It could have been arranged by the Second Master Jeffery as a part of his prank.

As a rich young master, his pranks should be involved in playing with the other ’normal’ kids, right? He thought it was only normal.

Unexpectedly, the friend shook his head, "No. That wasn’t what happened at all.

"After a week or so, I started to hear music whenever I saw that girl. At first, I thought someone was pranking me and looked around. But there was no one. Everyone around me looked normal as well. So, I realized that I fell in love with her. With that courage, I went ahead and proposed to the girl.

"Guess what she said?"

"I can’t guess anything. Just tell me what happened and don’t keep me waiting anymore," the friend suddenly became too curious about what could have happened.
