Chapter 41: Evolving Part 2

"Evolve?" he repeated, glancing at the girl.

"I see. It seems there’s a difference between the previous data I have on her and what actually happened. "

"Go on, continue. I want to hear about your findings and why this happened. I’m sure you have that information with you, right?"

"Yes, give me a moment. I’ll pull up the data on the screen," the second scientist said, fingers moving quickly across the keyboard.

Neo glanced at the screen but kept the two scientists in his peripheral vision, ready in case they tried anything funny.

The monitor displayed a flood of data—her profile picture, age 19, body measurements, vitals, and a section labeled Abilities.

His eyes locked onto the description of her power.

Ability: Beast Transformation

===

Hybrid Form: Subject morphs into a half-tiger, half-human creature with enhanced physical capabilities.

Grip Strength: Measured at 1200 kg—capable of crushing bones with ease.

Bite Force: Estimated at 3,500 PSI, exceeding that of a Bengal tiger.

Top Speed (Two Feet):65 km/h, surpassing Olympic sprinters.

Top Speed (All Fours):150 km/h, making her nearly impossible to outrun.

Regeneration: Rapid tissue repair observed; minor wounds heal within seconds, while severe injuries close within minutes.

Berserk State: Triggered under extreme stress, significantly boosting aggression and physical performance but reducing cognitive function.

Neo’s expression darkened. If he encountered her while she was awake, he would have been ripped to pieces.

No wonder almost everyone was slaughtered.

It also meant that without the special weapon those nurses carried, subduing her was close to impossible.

As he continued to read, one piece of information caught his eye.

Potential: Subject’s blood shows properties that could be used to create booster drugs, potentially enhancing strength, regeneration, and endurance in other subjects.

"Tell me, have you already tried making a drug out of her?"

The two nodded together.

"Yes, but it’s still in the trial phase, and we were actually planning to send it to the main sector for further studies," one of them admitted.

"Further studies..." he repeated, though he already had an idea. They were going to use this drug on the people they abducted from outside the island—just like they did to him.

"What’s the side effect?"

"On lab rats, it quadrupled their physical abilities," one of them explained. "But the issue is that after one, they all died from cardiac arrest."

’Quadruple!’ That was no longer just a booster—it was a miracle drug.

The average human grip strength ranged between 40-60 kg, while well-trained individuals reached 60-80 kg.

A fourfold increase would still be far from the girl’s monstrous 1,200 kg, but it would give an ordinary human nearly 400 kg of grip strength—enough to crush bones with ease.

Not just that—it also meant he could run much faster. If the drug scaled with the user’s base stats, the stronger he became, the more effective it would be.

’The heart attack issue is a problem, but I’ve got a pretty high tolerance. Besides, I doubt my system would let me die just from taking a drug. If anything, it was forcing me to take them,’

"Give me the experimental drugs. I’ll carry them back to the Main Sector," he commanded.

They hesitated for a moment, but Neo’s cold stare bore down on them. With no other choice, they handed over a small bottle.

Printed on the label was "TGX-Booster."

Neo look at the battle in his hand for a second before nodding in satisfaction

"Thank you..." He paused, a smirk creeping onto his face.

"For being stupid." He pointed the rifle at them.

"Raise your hands, or I’ll put holes in your empty heads!"

Their minds struggled to process the situation, panic overriding logic. One of them instinctively tried to stand, but before she could even get her balance—

THUD!

Neo’s boot slammed into her chest, sending her crashing to the ground.

She gasped; the air ripped from her lungs as pain shot through her ribs.

"I SAID RAISE YOUR HANDS! DON’T MAKE ME REPEAT MYSELF!" he roared, his voice like thunder in the small room.

The other scientist flinched so hard that the chair nearly tipped over.

The one on the floor scrambled, hands shaking violently. Tears streaked down her pale face, her breath coming in heavy gasps.

The second scientist followed, her arms trembling as she raised them.

Neo watched them, expression cold and merciless. He had no sympathy for those who had never once shown it to others.

"Now tell me more about this island, and don’t give me any bullshit about not knowing. Not even God will be able to save you from me!"

Both nurses froze, their faces drained of all color.

The one still on the floor swallowed hard, her lips trembling. "I-I... we..." she stuttered, looking at her colleague as if hoping for help.

Neo stepped forward and pressed the rifle’s barrel against her forehead.

Click.

The safety was off.

"I won’t ask again...Talk, or you die. Simple as that."

The second nurse let out a choked whimper. "O-Okay! Okay! W-We’ll talk!" she pleaded.

Neo tilted his head, waiting.

"This island...It’s a classified facility. It doesn’t officially exist. They bring people here—prisoners, missing persons, anyone they can take without raising alarms. Then they experiment on them. Drugs, genetic mutations, biological weapons..."

Neo’s grip on the rifle tightened. "I already know that. What I want to know is why they’re doing it and who is funding all of this!"

"It’s the government and the oligarchs! They’re our customers! The government wants to use our research for war, while the oligarchs are looking for a way to extend their lifespan! Some even want to use our research to find a way for humans to survive on the Red Planet!"

Neo was at a loss for words. He half-expected this, but it was still shocking. No wonder this place existed without the whole world even realizing it.

"Please don’t kill us! We’re just scientists—we only wanted to make discoveries that could benefit all of humanity!"
