Avery's Game Of Revenge
Chapter 91: Chestnut And Blonde.

Chapter 91: Chestnut And Blonde.

"Hey!" a small gasp escaped Avery’s lips as she took her place beside Jodi who slung her arm over Avery’s shoulder immediately.

"Was it an emergency?" she asked.

"Nope." Avery shook her head in reply, saying the lie that was resting on the tip of her tongue, "Just a call I didn’t want to put off. But I’m done now. Sorry for the wait, Mana—"

"Leroy," she was interrupted by the older man. "While you were away, Stuart kind of addressed the formal atmosphere hanging above us all. We have decided to call each other by our first names, irrespective of the positions we hold."

"Ow... that’s cool," Avery agreed, flashing a small smile. Addressing Valentina as Ms. McCallum for the past one hour had been really difficult for her. It was getting her on edge, as if she was tainting the family name by letting people know her by that name. But now that she could simply call her by her first name, that felt better.

Valentina was the trash, not McCallum.

"My words exactly," Jodi chimed in, snapping her out of her inner monologue.

"I will be back in a while, Ava, so we can go over the new arrangements with Stuart," Leroy excused himself and walked away from them, to resume giving out instructions to the others. The moment he was out of earshot, Avery turned to Jodi, reading to start asking questions. But before she could, the answer came.

"He wasn’t saying anything important. Not important to both of us, at least," Jodi explained. For the umpteenth time since she got to the beach, she pressed her hair down as if that would stop it from the flying loose at the next gust of wind. She continued, "He only gave the order of scenes which is pretty much the same as the script."

"Valentina’s scene first? And then the one with I and Brian in the tent?"

"Correct," Jodi replied. She turned around to glance in Stuart’s direction, where he was busy in a deep conversation with his assistants, and leaned towards Avery, "You are lucky, girl. Look at those abs. You get to have those close-up scenes with—"

"I am married!" Avery interrupted her with a small laugh, "Besides, Neil looks are far superior to Stuart’s. You are one greedy girl for wanting more!"

"Am i?" Jodi raised her brows, an innocent expression on her face.

"You are."

"I am not."

"You are."

"I’m not."

The two were so absorbed in their mini argument that they had no idea that Stuart had closed in on them, and was in fact, standing closely behind them.

"I think you are, if Ava is insisting on this so much. Care to tell me what you are though?" he asked.

They whipped their heads around to stare at him, completely speechless.

Stuart’s eyes alternated from one of them to the other. These two were so on cue, the perfect chestnut and blonde. It was more than likely that they were friends outside set too.

"If no one cares to tell me, then can we go over the arrangements Leroy told you about earlier?"

★BROKEN HEARTS★

"Scene two; Take 1! 1...2...Action!"

Avery winced slightly as she slammed against the cushioned tent wall, switching identities immediately at that moment. Here, she was not Avery, neither was she Ava. She was Sloane, a fictional bitch.

She angled her head to Stuart’s as Leroy’s instructions from earlier echoed in her head. The instruction was to let Stuart handle their supposedly hot kiss in this scene, in a way that the camera would catch it but they wouldn’t really do anything. But what was Stuart doing right now? He literally just tilted her head upwards and buried his head in her neck, kissing her nape?!

Wasn’t he the one who didn’t want anything to do with an ’unknown’ actress?

Pushing the thoughts to the back of her mind and clamping a lid on it, Avery shut her eyes and allowed herself flow with the...amorous atmosphere in the tent. The atmosphere which was soon broken by a blank faced Valentina that sauntered into the tent, on Leroy’s cue.

’’Oh my god!’’

As the script dictated, Avery’s eyes snapped open when she heard the exclamation. She slipped her arms around Stuart’s waist, holding him in place and projecting the image of a perfect, possessive fling.

’Heavens...Sloane or not, this is weird,’ she chanted in her mind, watching Stuart and Valentina hold the legendary eye contact contest to establish the fact that their characters recognized and were attracted to each other. She let them have their moments as the ordinary side character she was, for one second...two...and,

’’What are you doing, Jay? Do you know who she is?’’ she asked, almost cringing from how needy her voice sounded. Well, anything for the camera.

’’What? She? Of course not. Does she look like the type of woman I would know?’’ Stuart replied her, looking more amused than Avery was sure the script demanded. And wasn’t it supposed to be Valentina he was staring at with that look on his face?

Avery cut her straying thoughts short and curved her lips into a sexy smirk, ’’That’s what I thought. Now why don’t we continue...’’ she wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer to her as she trailed off. A hiccup from Valentina, and Avery cast a sidelong glance at her, "Hey, wanna watch us do it?’’

The atmosphere stretched into a taut silence for the next two seconds, with Valentina not breathing a word, and Avery itching for the scene to end so she could be able to have her hands off man’s neck.

’’Bridgette!’’ the familiar voice drew Avery’s attention and one of the cameras to the entrance of the tent where Jodi stood, ’’You met Jay already? Was just thinking to find him on your behalf.’’

’’Oh...yeah, I met him but I was just on my way out,’’ Valentina muttered.

Avery butted in, ’’You know her, Jay? Thought you just said you didn’t!"
