Avery's Game Of Revenge
Chapter 82: Mass Murder

Chapter 82: Mass Murder

Speechless, Avery could only watch as he turned away to continue his conversation over the phone. She didn’t want to interrupt him again, as a form of respect and apology with the thought that he might be calling a work subordinate or partner, and she would hate to cause problems for him again just like she did with tearing the paper.

So, she simply stood aside and continued to eavesdrop on the call, the rate of her heartbeat spiking with each words Archie spoke.

"Did you get them?" he asked, and a small smirk started to tug at the corner of his lips at the reply he got. He added, "Let it have something to do with their allergies. And prepare an ambulance for instant resuscitation in case there’s an emergency."

He listened for a few seconds more and hung up on the call, turning back to face Avery.

"You will forgive Valentina and her friends, right?"

"Actually no," Archie replied.

Avery sighed inwardly. She had come out here to apologize for what she did, and now she had to apologize for what her cousin did too? Why couldn’t the day just end well for once?

"If you won’t be forgiving them, then...?" she asked tentatively, staring up at him.

"Why do you care?" he asked back. Archie’s blue eyes turned to focus on her, his eyes twinkling like he couldn’t believe she was actually initiating a normal conversation with him.

"Because I don’t want anything to happen to my cousin of—"

"It’s a pity then," he interrupted her, "As I already took actions."

"What... actions did you take?"

Archie shrugged as if it was nothing, "Your cousin and her friends make up an interesting group. Can you believe every single one of them is allergic to peanut?"

"And what does that have to do with the actions you took?" Avery asked, a nagging feeling starting to creep into her brain. She brushed it off immediately.

Archie would not do that.

She had seen him kill someone once before but that was because they almost raped her. He wouldn’t do what she was thinking just because someone insulted him, right?

He chuckled, jolting her, "What do you think that has to do with your question? I’ll tell you. Right as we speak, the kitchen is taking your cousin and her friends’ meal orders to them and..."

"There’s peanut flavored powder in it," Avery concluded, her heart dropping in her stomach.

"Bingo!" Archie snapped his fingers, taking a short pause to examine Avery’s face before continuing, "Even though they specifically informed the kitchen of their allergies and instructed that anything that has to do with peanut be extricated completely from the ingredients and preparation of their meals."

Avery stared wide-eyed at him, a mixture of disbelief and anger evident in her darkened eyes.

"Did you..." she scoffed, running her hands through her hair while maintaining eye contact with him. "Did you really just do that to them just because they insulted you in a casual conversation?"

"That wasn’t a casual conversation, mama. You were insulted," Archie replied, his tone void of any form of emotions. "Doesn’t matter who they are to you."

"Can you hear yourself, Archie?! Aren’t you even ashamed?’’ Avery yelled, suddenly feeling ashamed of herself for thinking of apologizing earlier. This man was clearly a monster who didn’t need or deserve apologies.

If there was anything he deserved, it was bad luck. In all ramifications of his life; just like what happened with his corporation.

She gritted her teeth, "You know what?"

"What?" he asked, his brows arched in genuine curiosity.

"You are a monster! And no one, not even an animal, should be tortured with staying a second with you!" she said, her firm tone showing how serious she was with her words.

Archie didn’t say a word, his hands only rising to take off his glasses and reveal his eyes.

"Arthur is just so nice," Avery continued with a set jaw, determined not to let his intense gaze deter her from speaking the most hurtful words she had ever spoken in her entire life to this man. "He loves charity cases. Probably the only reason he took you, a Donovan and all, into our precious circle and treated you like a real friend, don’t you think so?"

He still didn’t answer, his head tilted sideways as if he was in deep thoughts about something.

"You think you have it all, don’t you?" she scoffed, "A perfect family that let you be the chairman of their conglomerate with no rivals, a fucking gorgeous face, an unlimited bank account and an awesome number of girls falling at your feet but no, Archie, you have nothing. If you got in trouble right now and lost everything I just mentioned, no one would stand up for you. Do you know why?"

"Because you are nothing more than trash without them!" she hissed, turning on her heels as she headed back to the private room Valentina and her friends were in.

"Stop right there, Ava," Archie ordered her, his chilling voice piercing through her spine and forcing her to stop.

"And if I don’t? Will you exploit my allergies too?" she taunted.

"You don’t have one to exploit, so no," he replied with all seriousness.

Avery’s brows furrowed. She opened her mouth to ask how he knew she didn’t have allergies but he beat her to it with the cruelest words she had ever heard,

"If you are going to tell your cousin and the others their food is unsafe, then I’ll advise you against doing that," he stated. "But if you insist, then it won’t be an ’ordinary allergy attack with an ambulance waiting outside incidence’ you’re experiencing, instead, it’d be a real mass murder. Don’t look so shocked, you’ve seen me do it before, haven’t you?"

"You are threatening me with their lives," Avery asked, the words coming out in a low gasp.

"I am," Archie affirmed without breaking a sweat, "Now what do you plan to do, mama?
