Avery's Game Of Revenge
Chapter 119: Ava VS Valentina

Chapter 119: Ava VS Valentina

If Jodi hadn’t noticed from how Avery tolerated Valentina actions the other day at the beach, in the dressing tent, that she wanted to take her career serious—and independent—without involving her husband’s identity or authority, she wouldn’t have bothered saying that at all; knowing her friend had no reason to be scared of what the Manager might think or say.

On the other hand, Avery was not the least bit annoyed by the comment and post Valentina left. To her, it was just a precious opportunity that presented itself to her, and she was not about to let it go. Ever since the day at the cemetery where she swore not to take her plan slow, she had known instinctively that Valentina would be the first to bite the dust given the close proximity in which they worked together.

Actually, she’d thought she would have to cause trouble to create an avenue to go against Valentina; and that was the main reason she wore the exact same outfit the latter posted earlier that day. To rile her up like the other day at the beach. But then, the stupid Valentina had, with her own hands, provided a more credible ticket for herself to be antagonized, thereby granting Avery the opportunity to act without fear of anyone regarding her actions as out of place.

Snapping her head sideways in the direction of the make-up artist, the only person apart from Jodi whom she recognized here, Avery asked,

"Is she around yet?"

"Yes. She came very early with her assistant for the dawn shoot with Mr Salvador. If I guess right, she should be eating breakfast right now." The immediate reply from the lady further confirmed Avery’s notion that these people—the crew members—yearned for someone to put Valentina down.

And she, as Ava Donovan, was more than happy to take the risk for them.

"Thank you, Rae," she appreciated and turned to storm her way to the door, swinging it open immediately she got there. The vague feeling of Jodi walking closely behind her was the only thing stopping the pent-up fury in her chest from pushing it’s way through to the surface.

As soon as her eyes accustomed to the bright light in the apartment, she was immediately able to spot Valentina sitting on one of the sofas, sipping from a cup of coffee with her eyes glued to her phone. Stuart was sitting beside her, also with a cup of coffee in hand; while one of the crew members was in the middle of taking a picture of their relaxed selves to save it as a still cut image.

"You are here, Jodi and A—"

Avery interrupted him, her face a complete mask of displeasure, "Good morning to you too, James. Even though someone here already ruined mine."

Without bothering to explain, she took long strides to where Valentina was sitting. She snatched the cup of coffee from her hand and flung it onto the tiled ground, spilling the brown contents.

Yes, she was well aware she went overboard with that, but she also knew no one would blame her for it.

"Who the hell is..." Valentina trailed off, a glimmer of shock reflecting on her face as she met Avery’s incensed one.

"You should complete that question and answer it yourself. Who the hell do you think I am, Miss Valentina McCAllum?!" Avery snapped. "And as you’re answering that. Please tell me who the hell you also think you are."

"What?" was all Valentina could bring herself to say. She blinked rapidly, as if trying to make out what was going on and and regain her composure. She looked from the spilled coffee on the ground; to Leroy, who was staring at her with a surprise written vividly all over his face; to Jodi, who was glaring at her; to Stuart sitting beside her; whose questioning gaze was alternating between hers and Avery’s faces; and finally, back to Avery.

"Is this a prank or something?" she scoffed, rising to her feet so she could stare straight into her opponent’s eyes. Since both of them were wearing identical outfits and sneakers, they stood at equal heights with each other. "Since we’re standing on business here, Miss Ava Donovan, explain why you snatched my drink from me and spilled it!"

"Oh...you do know my name?" A mirthless chuckle escaped Avery’s lips, marveling at the displeasure that glinted in her cousin’s eyes. "For a moment there, I actually thought your delusional brain got me mixed up with someone else. Since you know who I am, care to explain what this comment you left on my post means?"

Before Valentina could come up with her perfect come back, she shoved her phone in her face, an evil smirk curling on her lips as she recited the words out loud,

"Your face haunts me. Your smile is a harsh reminder of what I and my family lost; of our biggest regrets. Could you stop posting pictures of yourself please? It’s enough that I have to see you at work...and now here?"

With Avery looking up from her phone as soon as she was done reading the comment, there was a collective gasp from the other crew members in the apartment. Apparently, only those outside in the hallway had seen the comment and post and none had been brave enough to inform the producers, and their seniors.

"Did you really leave that comment on Ava’s page, Valentina?" Leroy asked, slowly inching towards the two actresses currently having a stare down contest. The atmosphere in the room was tense and he wouldn’t be surprised if a physical fight broke up right there and then, so he needed to be on standby to stop it immediately it started. Valentina didn’t reply him, so he decided to give her a way out by asking, "Maybe your assistant did, right?"

Where she was standing and leaning on the breakfast table, Jodi rolled her eyes.

"What kind of assistant would have the nerve to leave that kind of message using a public figure’s personal account, and at the same time, leave a post that means pretty much the same thing?"
