Chapter 945: The Remnants
Chapter 945: The Remnants
Vale’s expression remained calm as he was already somewhat aware of this information but a less detailed one...
Nonetheless, he truly couldn’t figure out the Paragon’s past according to the stories that he heard.
After all, he first thought that they were also just normal humans or Arcanists who had obtained power with the help of the three Immortal-Level Artifacts.
However, it seemed that they only obtained it after becoming Immortals and it even came from the Celestial Realm.
Nonetheless, those three items were indeed invaluable as their powers were unmatched.
As a matter of fact, he already extracted those three items and obtained their power.
What was only left with them were empty vessels that were still valuable to those true inheritors like Armin.
Anyway, it wasn’t surprising that the relics were more than just tools and were actually keys to something far greater.
"Why would they leave such powerful items behind?" Vale asked... "Surely, they knew the risk of leaving them in the mortal realm."
These three Half-Immortals certainly knew something that he did not, so he had to pry for more information about it.
Caleb furrowed his brow as he tried to recall this information.
Well, it wasn’t something they’d really bother to figure out. However, they read plenty of ancient records left by their ancestors, allowing them to learn various things that may or may not be useful..
He didn’t expect that the Shadow Immortal would actually be so curious about such information. If he knew of it, he would’ve certainly memorized all records related to this matter.
"There are rumors. Some believe the Paragons left those relics here because they couldn’t take them back to the Celestial Realm. That the stones themselves are now tied to this realm—or that they were meant to guard something."
"Guard what?" Vale pressed.
Lyra shook her head. "We don’t know. The Paragons’ intentions were their own. But if they left those relics here, it was for a reason. A reason we may never fully understand."
Vale was already quite satisfied with that information.
The relics he possessed were indeed extremely important.
If they truly originated from the Celestial Realm and were crafted from stones of mysterious power, then their true purpose might still be hidden.
Unfortunately for them, they were already extracted.
And if the Paragons left them behind as a safeguard—or a warning—Vale needed to uncover the truth.
"Very well..." Vale said. "Continue to serve me well, and you may yet find redemption. No—"
Vale paused for a moment as he recalled his plans. "You will be teachers for now... But you have to change your identities. You should not be known as Half-Immortals."
Just like that, Vale decided to make new identities for them.
The three half-immortals bowed their heads as they just simply followed the Shadow Immortal’s instructions.
Then, after instructing them to settle the matter in the village, he wanted them to find his domain after a month.
That should be plenty of time to do whatever they needed in their territory before disappearing.
Vale then turned away from them, as he used his mastery over Spatial Spells and disappeared from their sight.

Vale didn’t immediately return to his domain after this event.
Instead, he traveled swiftly across the continent.
His destination was Zenthra, a small nation in the southern region. It was now infamous for housing the Abyssal Rift—a scar that was left behind by the failed invasion of Abyssal Creatures and Demons years ago.
Unlike other Forbidden Lands that had existed for centuries, this one was new, unstable, and still filled with signs of destruction after the Abyss Realm used that area to move tens of thousands of Demons.
As Vale arrived at the outskirts of the mountain range where the Abyssal Rift was located, he immediately sensed the chaotic energy around.
He could also see that the land was fractured as if it was hit by multiple earthquakes.
What was even more terrifying was the sky above that seemed to twist and turn as various colors filled it...
There was no visible Spatial Rift but Vale could tell how unstable this place was.
"I should’ve visited this place before," Vale muttered as he really didn’t expect that the damage done by the invasion would still affect this region.
Thankfully, this place wasn’t completely without hope.
"Stabilizing it might be tricky, but it should be possible." Vale muttered.
The ground beneath his feet felt both solid and unreal, as though reality itself was struggling to hold its form. Nonetheless, since there weren’t any more visible Spatial Rifts, he should be able to do something about this place.
"Ugh..."
Unfortunately, as he entered the area and ventured within the mountain range, he realized that the situation was actually getting really bad.
He believed that if he was using Arcane Energy instead of Divinity, he would feel very sluggish since he would be disrupted by unseen forces.
The instability of the region was actually worse than he expected from the outskirts of this area.
"This place... it’s practically rejecting stable existence..." Vale murmured as he scanned the landscape.
"If it remains like this, it’ll spread further... The Arcane Bureau’s reports downplayed it a lot." Vale muttered to himself.
However, before he could advance further, Vale’s keen senses picked up the presence of others Arcanists nearby!
Vale then moved without a sound as he approached the disturbance and soon spotted a small group of Arcanists.
They were all clad in deep blue and crimson robes. Without a doubt, they were members of the Elemental Arts Faction.
There were five of them in total, all standing around a formation of floating crystalline structures.
A few of them were scribbling notes on enchanted scrolls, while another was carefully adjusting a series of magical rods that pulsed with elemental energy.
"Hmm?" Vale found their work interesting. They certainly weren’t here to conduct some illegal activities. It seemed more like they were conducting research to assess the situation in this area.
Anyway, Vale remained hidden, observing them for a moment.
Their presence here was unexpected but it wasn’t too surprising since this place could indeed offer a lot of discoveries about the realm’s stability.
