Chapter 80: Chapter 79 Mine
Olivia stretched out her hand, and golden-red energy began to flow from her hand into Lucian’s body.
Golden light blasted through the room, spilling out of the window.
A smile formed on Olivia’s lips. She was able to save him.
Lucian began to return to his normal colour, his lips pink and the poison leaving his body completely.
Abigail quickly gathered the poison in the air and directed it into a bottle. She sighed in relief, they had finally succeeded in saving him.
As they all expected everything to end now, Olivia could no longer control the amount of essence that was flowing out from her body.
She didn’t know what was wrong. No matter how she tried, it was not stopping. Her eyes widened when she realised that it was Lucian. He was sucking out her essence... like it was meant for him.
Olivia groaned as his aura pulled her closer, as if he was going to devour her.
Abigail and the stranger were stunned by the sudden turn of events. "He is trying to suck out all of her essence! Do something! Stop him!" she tugged at his sleeve. The stranger’s eyes flickered with something unreadable as he looked down at her, tugging him.
But his eyes flickered back to Lucian and Olivia. Olivia was only an inch away from Lucian. Red, fiery flames swirled around them.
"Lucian!!" Olivia’s rasped voice called out. At the mention of his name, Lucian’s eyes snapped open. His irises were completely golden.
"Mine," his hoarse voice said with authority.
As if her body really belonged to him, something snapped inside her—awakened. Olivia screamed out as she felt her head burning, as if something had been carved on her forehead by a hot, scalding tool.
Hot tears streamed down her face. A golden mark formed on her forehead—a mark of Chaos. As Olivia tried to pull herself away from the strange attraction, she was strangely pulled forward by Lucian.
"You can’t escape it," he said again, a smirk forming on his lips. Olivia swore at that moment he looked like a prince from hell. His demeanour suddenly changed, he looked evil and scary. Cold shivers ran down her spine, followed by a creeping fear that wrapped around her like ice.
As he was about to open his mouth to say something, Olivia’s lips slammed against his. Lucian’s eyes widened in horror, anger brewing beneath his skin, golden flames dancing in his eyes.
Olivia didn’t know why she had done it. Was it the attraction? Or was it because she was scared of what he was going to say next? She had no idea.
She grimaced as the pain from her forehead felt like it was burning her very soul.
A gasp escaped from the stranger’s lips; he was taken aback by the sudden kiss and the attraction. This was nothing he could separate. They could only hope he didn’t drain all of her life essence.
His eyes glanced down to his sleeve, where Abigail was still clutching at him. He swallowed before removing her hand.
"What is happening?" Abigail curiously asked, totally unbothered that he removed her hand from his sleeve.
"I don’t know, but it will be best if it ends now," his voice sounded. Lucian, you better get a hold of yourself. Taking all her life essence will be of no benefit to you. She has not awakened yet, he thought inwardly.
Olivia’s body felt hot, like she was burning from the inside out. When she noticed he had momentarily stopped absorbing her essence when she kissed him, a crazy thought brewed in her head. She deepened the kiss.
Lucian looked at her with a confused gaze, but he didn’t push her away. His eyes slowly fluttered closed, the attraction between them slowly weakened. And then, it finally disappeared. Lucian lost consciousness. A weak smile formed on Olivia’s face before she collapsed on him, welcoming the warm blanket of darkness.
The energy and flame disappeared. The room returned back to its normal dull colour. The sky outside slowly turned dark.
Abigail ran towards them. She quickly checked on Olivia, and a sigh of relief escaped her lips. Only after she was sure that Olivia was okay did she move to Lucian. She was taken aback by how he was suddenly healthy... healthier and stronger than he had been before the incident.
The wound on his back had also healed. She was stunned, but not more than when she found out that Olivia was so powerful, she was even able to survive the transfer. By what she had seen today, she was in no way lesser than Alexa. But how could Olivia be that strong?
Abigail had briefly seen the mark that formed on her forehead. Olivia was more than what the rumour said—a sole survivor? She was at a cataclysm level in ascension. She slowly lifted Olivia up, carrying her unconscious body to a couch.
The stranger carried Lucian. "Thank you for your help. This deed will be repaid," the stranger’s voice echoed in Abigail’s ear.
"You..." When Abigail turned, he was already gone. She scoffed before shaking her head. Then her eyes lingered on Olivia’s body.
"Maybe befriending you after all wasn’t a waste of time," Abigail’s smile lingered, but her gaze stayed on the mark glowing faintly on Olivia’s forehead.
......
The door burst open as two figures entered a dark room. One of the figures was unconscious. The switch of the light was turned on by the other figure.
As the light illuminated the room, Lucian and the stranger came into view. The stranger carried Lucian to his bed. His gaze softened, then he proceeded to remove his shoe.
He halted when Lucian muttered something. He brought his ear closer to his lips to hear what he was saying.
"No... I can’t... I can’t abandon Olivia... No, I won’t," Lucian’s brow furrowed, his face contorted with pain.
"It seems like you have not forgiven yourself yet for leaving her in the domain," the stranger muttered under his breath.
