Chapter 64: Chapter 63 The Seer’s Nightmare
Klaus stood frozen, his expression unreadable as Olivia’s ultimatum hung in the air.
Silence.
Then, he exhaled, long and slow. "Fine," he muttered. "Half-girlfriend it is."
Olivia blinked, slightly taken aback. She expected more resistance, maybe even another threat. But the look in Klaus’ eyes wasn’t cold—it was calculated. A quiet agreement to a war neither of them wanted to win just yet.
"You’re smart," he said with a wry smile. "Smart and dangerous... just how I like it."
She didn’t respond. Her expression remained blank, but her clenched jaw betrayed her tension. They both knew this wasn’t a win. It was survival.
Klaus stepped back, letting go of her wrist. "But remember, Olivia," he added, voice low, "I don’t share. You might be my half-girlfriend now, but if I ever see you in that guy’s arms again..."
"You’ll what?" Olivia cut him off, her tone icy. "Get in line. There are worse monsters in this place than you, Klaus."
The tension between them was a coiled wire, ready to snap. But Klaus didn’t push further. He simply smirked, turned, and walked away.
The moment he was gone, Olivia exhaled sharply, like she’d been holding her breath the entire time. Her knees wobbled, but she forced herself to stand tall. The system’s warning still flashed faintly at the corner of her vision—55 hours.
The mission still loomed like a dagger over her head.
As she turned to head back to the dorms, a strange chill crept down her spine. Her skin prickled. Someone was watching her.
She paused, glancing over her shoulder.
No one.
The hallway was empty. But the feeling lingered—sharp, pressing, crawling along her nerves. She slowly took a sharp turn, eyes scanning the shadows.
Whoever it was... they weren’t done with her.
And deep down, she knew this was only the beginning.
...
The dark sky split with lightning. The thunder rumbled, instilling fear in every creature. Down below, hell was unleashed, the land blazed with fire, burning everything in its path. Not even the sky’s relentless downpour could quench its fury.
In the midst of hell, a female warrior with long black hair fell to her knees, a blazing sword piercing through her chest.
"Olivia?" Diana muttered, as she watched the event unfold before her eyes. She tried to run towards her, but no matter how much she tried to move, it was like she was glued to the ground.
Blood spattered from Olivia’s mouth, her wet hair clung to her face, the rain washed down the trail of her blood to the river of blood underneath her. The land flowed with red liquid, dead bodies scattered everywhere—both that of the monsters and the humans. Some of the corpses were burned into ashes.
A figure walked elegantly towards Olivia’s bleeding body, his steps deliberate. The bodies lying in front of him were sent flying before he even got close to them. His aura thickened the air, the earth obeyed his every command.
Suddenly, figures appeared before the confused Diana—the figures of the old Seers before her. Cold ran down her spine when she saw the line of them. "KILL THE BEARER OF CHAOS," their voices thundered amidst the rain.
Their eyes locked on the body of Olivia. "SHE IS THE BEARER," they pointed towards her.
Diana’s breath hitched. "If she is really the bearer, then why is she dying?" she desperately asked, her voice yelling in the thundering rain.
But the figures disappeared one after another until she was the only one left. A sob escaped her lips. She was left unanswered. She didn’t even know if this was the right thing to do.
"DON’T GO!!!" she cried out, falling to her knees.
A glowing light from afar made her snap her head. The figure stood in front of Olivia, his hand clenched around the sword that was protruding out of her chest. His lips tugged up into a satisfying smirk.
He heartlessly twisted the sword in her chest. Olivia’s face curled in pain. He pulled the sword free, and a gush of blood followed. Her eyes widened in disbelief.
Splash.
Olivia’s body collapsed, joining the sea of corpses. Her eyes gradually became distant. Then, her body began to disintegrate, red fiery flakes filled the air.
"No... this isn’t how it end," Diana thought, frozen in horror.
The figure flicked his hand, and all the flakes surged in the air before entering his body.
His eyes closed, as he enjoyed the surge of power, his body blazed like a lone star. " At last... the reign of chaos begins." He muttered
As if he had sensed someone, his head immediately snapped towards Diana. His eyes flared open. His silver-white hair danced in the rain, as his golden eyes stared right into her soul. And in that gaze, Diana saw something worse than death... harbinger of doom. Chaos itself.
Diana felt as if she had been burned inside out. "AAAAARGH!" she screamed.
"Diana, wake up," a voice commanded. A purple light shone in front of her, blocking her direct contact with the figure.
...
"AAAAAARGH!"
Diana screamed out of her dream. She suddenly sat up, her iris completely white. But she hadn’t woken up yet.
Ellie was sharing the room with her. She woke up to her scream. Ellie rushed to her but was stunned by Diana’s situation. She shook her, but Diana did not wake up. Rather, she was still screaming.
"Oh no, your soul is in trouble," she muttered. Ellie’s eyes turned purple. She sat in front of Diana, she stared directly into Diana’s white eyes.
"Diana, wake up!" she commanded, snapping her connection with whatever she was facing.
Blood splattered from Ellie’s mouth. Diana’s whitish eyes slowly turned into her normal hazel shades. But she immediately lost consciousness.
Ellie wiped the trail of blood from her mouth, then she laid Diana back to bed. Her brows furrowed. Whatever Diana was facing was not an ordinary power—she could even feel her own powers depleting.
Whatever it was... it was already here.
