Apocalyse: Marked by Chaos
Chapter 61 - 60 Temptation

Chapter 61: Chapter 60 Temptation

"We should be more concerned about the power that could render it this way?" Stefan calmly commented, his gaze scanning the room.

"Maybe it’s Olivia, remember she could even survive a fall and heal as if nothing happened," Klaus added, as he walked closer to Stefan, his feet making squishy noises at every step he took. Stefan casually placed his hand in his jacket.

"Wrong." Stefan squatted. He touched the liquid, his finger rubbing against it.

"This is done by two forces joined together."

"You mean it wasn’t done by just Olivia?" Klaus asked.

Stefan shook his head before standing up. "I believe the other person is Lucian."

Klaus’ brows furrowed. Everyone knew that Olivia’s power was unique, but how could Lucian be as strong as her and survive her power outburst? "But they’re not here," he said.

"They got out through the window." Stefan nodded towards the broken window.

Klaus clenched his fist. He should have been the one to save her. How would she be grateful to him if he didn’t save her from life-threatening incidents?

"Let’s go. Find someone to clean the mess up, Verax." Stefan ordered, but he got no response back.

He turned, irritated by the fact that he was ignored. Verax was busy scooping the black liquid into jars.

"What are you doing, Verax?" Klaus asked, his face scowling with disgust.

"This is a golden opportunity. We can do wonders with this. We haven’t been able to experiment with Wailroot because no matter what we did, we couldn’t get its black liquid. This could make our plan come faster," he happily said as he scooped more black liquid into the jar with his gloved hands. His green patched spectacle glowed black, reflecting the liquid.

Stefan sighed. "After you are done, clean the place up." He strode towards the door but stopped midway. "Take care of the students’ corpses... and prepare for your punishment." His cold words were like a sword to Verax’s throat.

Verax swallowed before hesitantly nodding his head. He had almost forgotten about the fact that he would get punished for slipping up. But he had a chance to go unscathed. His eyes locked on the liquid in the jar, glistening with mischief.

...

In a dimly lit room, a female lay unconscious on the couch, her body covered with black, sticky liquid. A man with silver white hair sat beside her, gently wiping off the stain on her skin.

"Your attraction to trouble is really one of a kind, Olivia," he muttered under his breath, his eyes gazing upon her with mixed feelings.

He squeezed the towel in the bowl of water and began to wipe her face. His hand stopped midway—her hand suddenly held his. Her long lashes fluttered before her eyes snapped open.

Her golden eyes stared mindlessly for a couple of seconds. For a moment, the world seemed to revolve around them.

Lucian blinked his eyes to confirm if he was seeing correctly. Why did it look like Olivia hadn’t come back yet?

"Who are you?" he asked. His gaze bore through her, and his hand twitched in defense.

She sat up straight, tilting her head towards him. "Olivia," she answered. A smirky smile formed on her lips.

"No, you are not," he said, firm. "Bring her back!" he ordered, but his voice was low.

"Well, I can’t," she drawled. "I remember you, but she doesn’t," she pointed out.

Lucian’s throat tightened, his fists clenched, knuckles turning white.

She chuckled, her hand touching his bruised face, but he swiftly backed away. "Are you sad that I hurt you earlier?" she frowned at his gesture.

"I didn’t mean to, I was just trying to survive. But now I can see you, I might as well reward you." A mischievous glint danced in her eyes.

"No, I don’t have any reward, and I’m afraid you have gotten me wrong. I have never met with you or Olivia before," he said, his face stern and cold.

"Tsk. Tsk." She shook her head in amusement. "Stop lying to yourself," she clicked her tongue.

Lucian glared at her. But she disregarded how angry he looked right now.

"Since you are awake, I believe you can clean yourself now?" he said, standing up, but Olivia suddenly pulled him back.

Crash.

He lost his footing, falling on top of her, the side of the couch deepened. His lips collided with hers. His body froze, eyes widened. His thoughts churned with confusion and heat.

Olivia smiled underneath his lips, before deepening the kiss.

Lucian’s body burned, like he had been thrown into lava. His mind threatened to betray him. ’Pull away, she is not the real Olivia. Oh damn it, she tastes so good, intoxicating.’ He thought inwardly.

His heart raced in his chest, his fist clenched so tightly that his veins bulged out.

’No. I can’t do this.’ The thoughts crawled at the back of his mind, as he dragged himself away, attempting to escape the temptation. ’ The real Olivia would not do this, I can’t take advantage of her.’

But Olivia was having none of that.

She pushed him to the other side of the couch, her legs straddled his hips. She pinned his arms above his head, her smirk widening. She leaned closer, her voice dropping. "You can’t escape from me."

Lucian’s expression darkened, how could someone be this shameless. But deep down, his instincts awakened, this temptation... was too much. His throat bobbed up and down. His pupils flickered. ’She’s not Olivia. But she has her face. Her scent, And that makes it harder to resist.’

He tried to release his hand. But he couldn’t release her grip... his jaw clenching. ’I want this... but I should definitely not give into her, she is not real.’

And just like that, the space between them vanished.

Her breath brushed his cheek, cool and sweet like forbidden fruit. Then captured his—hot, commanding, like she was pouring every ounce of fear and fury into the kiss.

’Oh God, help me.’ Lucian begged inwardly as he could feel his defense slipping away.

She gasped, but it melted into him, her hands tightened around his hand, pulling closer to him.

"Oh my little bunny, you taste heavenly." She muttered in between the kisses.

Lucian eyes snapped open, the last string of resolve snapped. Before Olivia could fathom what was happening, her back landed on the couch.

"I will show you who you are messing with." He said, his voice hoarse, his warmth breath brushing against her ear.

He held her hand above her head, clamping them down tightly. "Don’t you ever call me that," he growled, his voice low. "I’m no little bunny."
