Chapter 134: Chapter 133 The Need For Power

Olivia turned when she felt the burning gaze of someone on her. Her eyes immediately met with that of Diana’s, who quickly averted her gaze.

She swallowed. She just couldn’t help but get mad at her, but was she really mad? Rather, it felt like a numb sensation in her heart.

Right now, she also needed to train to get physically stronger and better at using her sword.

"Now, we don’t have time to rest. Get into formation," Stefan’s cold voice snapped them out of their thoughts.

They all stood in a straight line, chests slightly out and their heads tilted up. Their hands rested beside them.

"We are going to do high-strength resistance training today, and I will also teach you how to use your sword and have better control over your system."

Olivia let out a sigh of relief she hadn’t realized she had been holding when she heard the schedule for the day.

"Now get back to work," Stefan shouted at the top of his lungs. Immediately, they ran towards where the metal they had to carry was lying.

They quickly lifted it onto their backs with the help of the ropes knotted around it.

Olivia glanced at Lucian, whose face was still expressionless. She wondered if everything was alright, but remembering the duality he had been exhibiting lately, she doubted everything was fine.

She groaned from the weight of the metal on her back, feeling its cold chill radiating into her body.

She wanted to talk to him, but before she could utter a word, he was already running his lap. She sighed before beginning to run.

The weight felt so heavy that her pace slowed. She had intended to catch up to him. With that thought, she ran faster, pushing herself to the very limit.

But as she was about to reach Lucian, Klaus immediately ran beside her.

"Hello, girlfriend."

Olivia bit back the words of anger that almost left her lips. She saw Lucian glance back towards them, and her cold heart beat with a loud thud.

’What great timing,’ she thought inwardly, glaring at Klaus, who was flashing his teeth at her.

"It’s half-girlfriend," she muttered while gasping for air.

"It doesn’t matter. You are my girlfriend after all," he replied nonchalantly, his voice clear without a hint of gasping for air.

Olivia wondered if she was really that weak. He didn’t seem to be having any trouble with the training.

"It seems like you are having trouble with the training," he said, his brows furrowing as his blue eyes scanned over her. "I can help if you want..."

"No, I don’t want your help," she harshly cut him off.

Olivia tried to hasten her pace. No matter how hard she tried to outpace him, he always seemed to catch up.

"I know I haven’t been doing my job as a good boyfriend... but I’m going to try to be the perfect one for you," he said, his voice sounding a little warmer.

"I don’t need it, Klaus."

"Are you still mad at me for not being with you when Luke died?" His voice held a tinge of pain.

"No, Klaus, I just don’t care about whether you are a good boyfriend or not." She slowed down, facing him. "What I care about is finding a way to break my deal with you. You know perfectly well that I don’t have any feelings for you."

With that, she took off. When she looked behind her, she saw that Klaus had stopped running alongside her. His face was contorted with anger. She bet she had struck a nerve, but that wasn’t her problem now. What really mattered to her was having a conversation with Lucian... and Michael, so she could gain access to the pit fight.

"Run faster," Stefan’s voice echoed through the air.

After what seemed like an eternity, the training finally ended. Olivia had planned to stop Lucian, but before she could finish dressing up, he was already gone.

Her hands clenched by her sides. "I guess I’ll have to meet Michael first," she muttered before making her way to his office.

Olivia stood outside the headmaster’s office, contemplating whether this was a good idea. She clearly knew that Michael did not like her, and if he had found a way to end her, he would have already done it.

Her hand hovered above the door. When she finally decided to knock, a voice came from behind the door.

"Come inside."

Olivia opened the door. Even the knob felt cold against her skin—a reminder to rethink her choice. But she pushed the feeling aside, making her way over to where Michael was sitting, pretending to be busy with his paperwork.

"What do I owe this unplanned visit?" he said, his cold voice sending shivers down her spine. Although his presence was suffocating, she had been in it a couple of times now, so she wasn’t as shaken by him as before.

Olivia’s lips parted, forcing words out of her mouth. "I want to fight in the pit again," she said, her throat tightening.

Michael’s gaze turned away from the papers to her, his eyes holding a tinge of surprise. He couldn’t believe his ears. Everyone who had gone to the pit and survived would never want to go back in there.

"You want to go back to the pit and fight monsters?"

Olivia swallowed. She must not show any fear. She straightened her back, her eyes flickering with resolve. "Yes, sir."

"Why, if I may ask?" He said, his gaze scrutinising her. He couldn’t really believe his ears.

Olivia hesitated for a moment. She wasn’t sure if she should tell him the truth or lie to him.

"My team and I are going on a rescue mission in three days’ time. I need to level up quickly, and the quickest way is to fight in the pit with monsters."

Michael’s gaze lingered on her as if contemplating whether he should let her go or not.
