Chapter 14: Sunshine goes fishing.
There was just one hitch in the saving Nimo’s family plan which made Sunshine twist her mouth. Her ex-boyfriend Alfred who was Nimo’s older brother would be staying at her base.
Hopefully, they would not create any problems. She did not expect trouble from Alfred’s side as their relationship had ended two years ago. It was a clean break without any nastiness and the reason behind this was because they had both grown apart and they recognized this fact.
Alfred had moved abroad for work, and it put a strain on the relationship. Long distance relationships were not as romantic and cozy as those adverts on television made it seem. He had returned to the country the previous year and sought to reconnect, but she had turned him down.
Their relationship could now be described as cordial and cool.
She let out another weary sigh and stared at her buzzing phone. It was her uncle calling again and this would be his ninth call today. Sunshine had a feeling that he had realized that she had broken into the safe and taken all the valuables inside.
"Hmph!" She sneered and rejected the call.
She drove to the warehouses near the market and took everything that had been delivered so far into the space. Then, she embarked on the drive back home, watching the sunset through a pair of sunglasses.
It had been so long since she last enjoyed a sunset without worry. It was such a precious thing and there would not be one for at least six months. If people knew what was to come soon, they would all stop and take their time to enjoy this beautiful, simple life.
All those weary people on the bus, heading home just to wake up at 4 or 5 a.m. and do the same thing tomorrow, she wanted to shout the words, "Just quit and stockpile" to them. But they would look at her like a fool and ignore her anyway.
She would be seen as just another Pastor Salem follower.
Sighing, Sunshine stopped at a red light and looked out of the window of the car again. To her surprise, there was a familiar face in the lane next to hers. As a matter of fact, that familiar face was driving a familiar car.
"Denise Jolie!" She muttered and scoffed.
It seemed Moon had sent one of her minions to keep tabs on her. Knowing her cousin quite well, Sunshine knew that Moon suspected that she had the bracelet, so it was not surprising that she had sent someone to spy on her.
She wondered how much Denise had noticed. Sunshine did not want Moon knowing just yet that she had also been reborn. Moon would be on guard and that would make it difficult to steal back the money she had stolen.
She brought out the bracelet and placed it on her right-hand wrist, making sure that it was visible to Denise the spy. Smiling cunningly, when she saw Denise secretly talking pictures with her phone, Sunshine dangled her hand out of the window, making sure that Denise got all the proof she needed.
The light turned green and Denise’s car shout like a rocket, as if she had an emergency patient in the back that she was rushing to a hospital.
Sunshine chuckled, driving at a relatively slow speed as she was in no hurry. "Thats it little squirrel, run and take all those pictures to your master Moon. Help me get my money back faster."

When she finally got home, she found Moon waiting for her at the entrance to the large garage. She was smoking, pacing nervously from side to side. Sunshine did not know it but that was Moon’s third cigarette of the night.
"It looks like the fish took the bait." Sunshine whispered to herself.
She hit the brakes because Moon rushed in front of the car, waving and jumping desperately for her to stop. For one brief second there, Sunshine considered driving over her cousin.
How great it would have been to hear the sound of her bones crunching and her screams as her head exploded like a watermelon.
But, before getting her money, she would not touch Moon. There was a right time for everything.
Moon jumped into the passenger side of the car. Sunshine had no idea what to expect. Would Moon be demanding or pretentious and duplicitous as always?
Moon on her end was eyeing the interior of the luxurious car with jealousy and anger. Why? She asked herself. Why had Sunshine been given such a car? When she married Hades, they never gave a car, not even a motorcycle.
Why were things different when to came Sunshine?
She bit back the urge to scream but still voiced her feelings of dissatisfaction. "How come they gave me an older model of this car and that was after groveling?"
Sunshine shrugged. "What can I say Moon; I am loved and you....." She broke off. But what she was implying was clear.
Moon scoffed and gave an eye roll. "All this won’t matter soon anyway so enjoy it while it lasts."
"Hmmm" Suni answered, feigning total ignorance about what she was saying. "What do you mean by saying that all this won’t matter soon? Is there a secret that you know? Cousin Moon you are acting strange these days." She said innocently.
Moon’s eyes burned with anger that burned hotter than a fire burning a witch at a stake. "You are one to speak Suni, who is stranger than you right now? Why did you steal from your family members? I want my stuff back." Her voice sharpened.
"I was repaying myself all my things that you broke and the money which went missing from my room and my jewelry. It is called tit for tat cousin. As for uncle and aunt, they sold me like a piece of cabbage in the market. So, I decided to take my share of the money that they got. 100 million! I have not even taken enough to make a dent." Sunshine narrowed her eyes, imagining how much more stock she could get with that kind of money.
Moon released a sigh, calming herself and reminding herself of why she was meeting Sunshine in the first place. "I understand, I did not want this marriage either. Our parents were wrong; I have told them not to condemn you for what you did.
Cousin, I am sorry about taking that lottery ticket money but there are people suffering at the church, I donated all of it to them." She lied blatantly.
It took all the energy in Sunshine to hold back her laughter. If Moon met a dying man on the road and he begged for water. Even if she had a bottle of it, she would pour it out and then spit on the man. How could someone like her donate?
Sunshine tilted her head, frowning like she was skeptical. "But that is not what I heard. I was told that you insisted on marrying Cassius, apparently you even took it upon yourself to register your marriage immediately." She finished off with a cheeky grin. "So, who is lying to me? Is it the Quinn’s, the servant’s or you?"
Moon cursed everyone that had spilled her business and then she faked a smile. "Honestly, cousin, I did it for you since you have been so good to me. Suni, you have been through so much already, I did not want you to marry a useless man like Cassius." Moon replied, her tone soft.
Sunshine quietly scoffed. "That is so kind of you, I wonder how I can repay that favor dear cousin." She chewed on the insides of her mouth, trying so hard not to laugh in the face of her cousin.
