Chapter 130: The Will to Become Stronger

Chapter 130: Chapter 130: The Will to Become Stronger

The tiger charged instantly after finding out the cause of all his misery.

It leapt forward with terrifying speed, its massive frame soaring through the air like a boulder flung by a god himself. The soul shadows surged up to block it, but they were useless now.

They clung and swarmed in front of him and screeched out, but it was practically useless because it did nothing to stop the tiger. It didn’t even slow down. Its eyes locked on Liora, who was not just the cause of its pain but its enemy too.

Liora’s eyes widened. She raised her hand instinctively to command the shadows again, but her mouth didn’t open fast enough. The moment she took a step back, it was already too late.

With a deafening crash, the tiger slammed into the ground where she stood. The impact blasted the earth apart. Rocks and dirt exploded around her. Her body flew through the air like a ragdoll from the sheer force of the shockwave.

She hit the ground hard, her ribs cracking on impact. Pain burst through her chest like fire. The breath was knocked out of her lungs, and her vision blurred. She rolled once, then twice, before finally skidding to a stop.

Silence followed after the massive impact.

Only the sound of her own gasping breath filled her ears.

But she couldn’t stop.

The tiger was already coming again.

Her body screamed in protest as she forced herself up, her arm wrapped around her side. Blood dripped from the corner of her mouth. She wiped it away and stood again—barely. Her knees trembled, but her eyes were steady now.

The mutated tiger stalked toward her, its body still swarmed with flickering soul shadows. They hissed and slithered and drained his life force—but they couldn’t stop him. He was bleeding from the mouth, his muscles shredded in some places, and his fur darkened and thinned in many places. But he was still standing. Still burning with fury and anger.

A deep rumbling growl shook his chest, and his golden eyes gleamed with nothing but raw hatred. His lips curled back into a snarl, and the look he gave Liora said everything—You dare do this to me? Me?

Liora exhaled slowly.

"I guess I have to do this the old way," she muttered.

The tiger’s ears flicked, and for a moment, a flash of confusion crossed its face, as if it hadn’t expected her to keep standing. Then, rage returned tenfold. Its body tensed again.

She stepped forward, and the tiger lunged again at her.

Liora barely dodged this time. She twisted to the side, ignoring the pain in her ribs, and swung her arm up. Her palm slammed into the side of the tiger’s jaw. Her bare hand hit like a stone, forcing the beast’s head to jerk sideways.

When she was at level 1, her physics were already on par with awakeners, and she had a strong body. And now, when she had reached level 6, her body grew even stronger, and her physics were much better. Her punch was not enough to directly sustain injuries on the hard flesh of a mutated beast, but it sure had some impact, as the mutated tiger’s head jerked towards the side.

The tiger stumbled, its gaze snapping back to her with fury blazing in its eyes.

Why won’t you break?—that’s what the expression on its face said. Pure disbelief mixed with hatred.

It wasn’t enough to stop him, but it was enough to make him pause.

He growled low in his throat, then slashed again. His claw grazed her shoulder—a deep cut was left. Blood sprayed across the grass.

Liora hissed through clenched teeth, but she didn’t back down.

"You don’t like it when I fight back, do you?" she said, breathing hard. "Come on then. Let’s see who breaks first."

She stepped forward again and grabbed the tiger’s fur and punched hard on his thick skin, which for sure had shifted his organ at least.

Once.

Twice.

Right into his ribs.

Each blow landed with huge force, but the tiger only flinched. It roared and reared back, slamming its skull into her chest.

Liora was thrown back again, her back smashing into a broken tree stump.

Her vision swam and her consciousness blurred to the point that she was seeing stars in broad daylight.

She coughed up blood, her chest heaving.

Still... she stood again.

"You think I’ll stay down just because I’m bleeding?" she muttered, spitting to the side. "Wrong beast."

The tiger snarled. It came at her with all four limbs now, with a wild and vicious look. It slashed and snapped at her.

But Liora moved faster than him, fully prepared now. She ducked under its claws and slammed her fist into its throat. She elbowed its jaw, dodged its bite, then struck it again.

Her hands were bleeding now. Skin ripped. Fingers swollen. But she didn’t stop. She kept swinging.

One of the soul shadows surged up and wrapped around her wrist—just a faint flicker of black light—but she felt the strength flow into her. A cold rush enveloped her fist completely...

Her next punch landed, and Liora found the impact on her hands had greatly reduced.

The tiger’s head snapped back. It stumbled a few steps.

A deep snarl escaped him as his breathing grew heavier. His eyes flicked left and right—he was starting to panic. He knew he was getting weaker. His expression twisted in confusion and fury. Why am I the one falling?

She didn’t waste the moment.

Liora gripped its fur, pulled herself up, and climbed onto its back. Her knees dug into its spine, and she grabbed both of its horns like handles.

The tiger roared, bucked, and tried to throw her off. But she held on.

"You’ve lost already," she growled under her breath. "Now fall."

Then she slammed her fists into the base of its skull. Again. And again. Again.

Black shadows coiled around her fists with each strike, strengthening her blows.

The tiger howled, twisting, trying to slam itself against trees to crush her—but she didn’t fall. She kept pounding.

And finally—the beast staggered.

Its front legs gave out.

Then it’s back.

It collapsed to the ground with a thud that shook the trees.
