An Extra's POV: My Three Fiancees Hate Me
Chapter 120: The start of it all.

Chapter 120: The start of it all.

Their swords clashed. It sounded like a small-scale explosion had happened there. Riven stood there while Roger was thrown back. He slammed into the ground, rolled, and finally came to a stop.

Everyone was shocked at what happened. It was nuts—one attack, and they both clashed the same way, and only one was pushed back.

Roger got up. He locked eyes with Riven. He tried to see a way to win, but Riven was like a mighty wave, and he was a small boat. It would take a miracle to survive fighting.

But Roger wasn’t going to back down. He closed his eyes and channeled his mana, coating his blade and making it exceptionally sharp.

He shot forward, amplifying his speed with mana. This was the technique most battlemages used because they couldn’t use skills like flash step.

Riven stood in place and waited for Roger. Roger went for his head, attacking with all his strength. The sword cut through the air with ease, almost hitting Riven.

But just before it hit, Riven vanished. He appeared behind Roger and pointed his sword at his neck.

"I think that wraps this up," he said casually.

Roger gritted his teeth when he felt the blade. Was he going to allow it to end like this? No, never. He had to win.

He gritted his teeth and moved his hand faster than he had ever done before, hitting Riven’s blade away from his neck. He turned around as fast as he could and charged toward Riven.

He gritted his teeth as hard as he could, pushing his body further. His mana spiked as he stabbed right for Riven’s heart. Riven smiled when he saw the attack.

"I guess you have some real fight in you," Riven said. He planted his feet into the ground and slashed at him, channeling his flame into the sword and right to the tip.

"You did well, Roger, but as far as the guest years go, you aren’t ready to fight me," Riven said as he slashed. Their swords collided, and a massive explosion followed. A wave of fire spread out before calming down.

Roger lay there on the ground, unconscious, his clothes burned at different places, with several burn marks all over his body.

Everyone stared in shock. They understood that Riven was strong—the war, his fight with the demonized—but he didn’t use his mana that time, and so they weren’t able to see what his true strength was.

Seeing it now showed them how strong he was. It terrified many of the unprepared standing there.

"First match, Riven wins," Quin announced. He allowed the place to get quiet for a few seconds, then spoke. "Now, for all those that want to fight, this is an opportunity—a chance to show your strength.

You can act as cannon fodder to wear him down for your friends to win, or you can come for your own win and take him down," Quin said.

The place went quiet for some time. No one stepped up to fight, but then one student finally came out. He was a tall and muscular boy with coffee brown hair. His face had a few scars which gave him a tough look, and with the massive hammer that he carried, it made him look like a mighty warrior.

"My name is Gallan, Class B, Rank 58, and I’ll be the one to take you down," he said with a loud and proud voice.

Riven stared at him for a few seconds. "Uhm, firstly, I can’t take someone who tries so hard to look scary seriously. Those wounds look like something a cat gave to you when you refused to use healing potions so that you get scars and look macho," Riven said. His words made some students laugh.

Gallan frowned. He pointed his hammer at Riven. "I’ll make you pay for that," he said.

"Uhm, that weapon is a personal weapon. You can’t use it," Riven said.

"Hahahaha! The great Rank One is scared of my weapon? You see, there is no hammer that weighs as much as my own in the academy, so I can’t really use anything else.

But you are the Rank One—surely this is not an issue for you," Gallan said.

"Urghh, whatever. Just come at me already. I want to end this quick," Riven said.

Seeing that Riven had finally accepted, Gallan smiled. He didn’t waste a single second. He charged at Riven, his hammer swung to his back—he was ready to attack.

But then suddenly everything froze, turning black and white. Riven stood at the center—the only one with color. Seeing this sudden change, he was shocked and scared.

He looked around, and he saw everyone frozen. "What’s happening?" he asked in worry.

[First Major Event is beginning now.]

The system suddenly sent out a notification.

[The one loved by Chaos has been activated.]

[Your life is in danger.]

Several messages came flooding in. Riven read them, and immediately the panic set in. This was unexpected—too quick, too fast. What the hell was happening right now?

Suddenly, the black and white state started shattering from where Quin was. He brute-forced through whatever it was, and as soon as he did, the entire thing shattered, and everyone could finally move.

But it was too late. As Riven and Quin looked up, they saw the boy from Class B—the one that had given the pill to that girl. He stood there with a pill in hand.

"Mrs. Sally will finally see me after this, and she will love only me," he said, then swallowed the pill.

’This bastard,’ Riven thought. If he did this here, he would not just turn into a full demonized, but rather a quasi-demon.

[...]

Inside Sally’s office, she sat down with the three transfer students. They had been discussing for a while, making it look like counseling, but they were plotting.

Suddenly, they felt the freeze. It was only possible by using a talisman that only people with demon blood could walk through. Immediately when she felt the talisman was used, she knew that he had done something.
