Chapter 181: Chapter 137 Vehicle Transfer of Ownership_2
It’s just going to cost a bit more this time.
"Ok, please follow me," said the warehouse manager, taking out a bunch of keys and leading the two to the private storage area, arriving shortly at storage room B1 and walking in after opening the door.
Allen Zhang and Sieg had just entered when they smelled a rotten, moldy odor.
"WTF! Are you sure this stuff has only been here for a few months?" Sieg was instantly overwhelmed.
They saw piles of rubber products, wooden crates, and metal boxes.
What could possibly be good inside here? Rotten nuts? Snacks? Or inflatable dolls?
What did the owner of this private warehouse do?
The manager looked at the mold spots and felt a bit guilty, explaining, "It’s mainly because there is no ventilation. This is a private storage, and our job is just to look after the goods. We rarely come here, and the items have always been unclaimed. We only contacted the owner a few days ago and found out he’s already in prison. You understand, no one wants this batch of goods now, and we need to clear out the warehouse."
The more Sieg listened, the more desperate he felt. Glancing at an excited Allen Zhang, he said, "Boss, I think your money is really wasted."
"That may not be the case." Allen Zhang quickly found the blue container among the stacked goods.
The manager took a look at the order list and said, "What you’ve ordered is the blue container C-510. In addition to the one hundred dollar deposit, there’s a nine hundred dollar sanitation handling fee. I don’t know if you’d like to pay in cash, online banking, or virtual coin?"
"Isn’t this the same as us paying you to clear out your trash? Your manager is a genius."
Sieg quickly understood their business model. Shameless—can you get any more shameless?
"Don’t say that, it’s a mutually agreed deal, covered by legal terms."
The manager’s attitude remained cordial—after all, who wouldn’t be happy to see a client coming to give money? They had paid after all, so what’s wrong with a few kind words?
Although they couldn’t open the container directly, they had a rough understanding from the storage owner of what was inside; it couldn’t really contain anything good. Those people still fantasizing about finding treasures in mystery boxes, isn’t that purely deceiving fools?
A straightforward one thousand dollars in the pocket.
"I choose cash payment," said Allen Zhang, taking out nine hundred dollars in cash and handing it over to him.
The manager counted the amount, beaming with joy, and promptly gave Allen Zhang a receipt. He turned around, went to the storage room to get a large pair of iron tongs, and courteously asked, "Do you need me to help you open it?"
"Of course." Allen Zhang and Sieg stepped forward as the storage container’s door lock was intact, with a post-it note on it. The manager went ahead and cleared the goods, directly cutting the lock chain with the iron tongs and opening the container door.
Looking inside, they saw piles of cardboard boxes, foam, and a layer of dark burlap that obscured any view.
The manager took a look and said with regret, "It seems to be just some foam boxes?"
"Move aside, let me see what this one thousand dollars bought!!"
Sieg couldn’t take it anymore, feeling worse about the General Sect Leader losing money than if it had been his own.
He immediately pushed the manager aside, got hands-on, and started rummaging through the cardboard boxes, cursing under his breath.
Soon he felt something was off, as if he had touched something hard. Was it a tightly bound shelf?
"Is this thing a metal cabinet?" Sieg was hesitant.
The manager also expressed ignorance.
Allen Zhang had already vaguely seen the outline of tires and went straight to tear off the nylon ropes holding it together, lifting the black cloth covering it.
"This is clearly an off-road vehicle!"
A Jeep Wrangler was revealed.
"WTF!!"
Sieg was dumbfounded.
The manager felt as if his heart had stopped beating, almost passing out from the shock, staring blankly at the off-road vehicle inside the container.
"The paint is still brand new, the chassis and engine numbers are from last year, but it seems it’s never been used. We’ve struck it rich!"
Allen Zhang checked it over, finding documents in the passenger seat and said cheerfully, "Documents and keys are also in the car!"
Sieg snapped out of his despair, his face lit up with joy, "Haha, Boss, we are really lucky! One thousand dollars for a Jeep in such good condition? This one has to be worth at least fifty thousand dollars, right?"
The manager was equally astonished.
Why the hell was there a Wrangler here?
Hadn’t the storage owner said there was nothing good inside, and that everything had been accounted for?
A big treasure sitting under their noses for so long without anyone discovering it, was that reasonable?
The forced smile, the reluctant applause, and the sarcastic comment, "Guys, I must say you’re really lucky."
This broken container had been there for over half a year, always unclaimed and neglected, and yet an off-road vehicle emerged from inside—something he had never imagined.
It’s all fate.
If this container hadn’t been sold, would that Jeep have been theirs?
Regret, just very much regret.
Allen Zhang started the vehicle and took Sieg out for a test drive. The power was full, the gas tank was full—indeed a Jeep off-road vehicle.
The manager was like an eggplant beaten by frost, pulling out his phone to chat with other managers and supervisors, typing furiously, beautiful language starting with F surely included within.
Had he known there was something good inside, why the hell would he have sold it? They should have secretly opened the container themselves.
