Alpha Damien's Breeder: The first night -
Chapter 99: Whip with thorns
Chapter 99: Whip with thorns
The atmosphere went silent, both of them gazing at each other with so many unspoken words in their eyes.
"Can we leave here?" Breaking the awkward silence, she requested.
"Alright," he nodded in response then revved the engine for departure. Getting back to the mansion, Charlotte went straight up into her room, her eyes teary as she walked away. Dave wanted to run after her but was abruptly stopped by his mother, "Can we talk?" Theresa requested.
"What is it?" Getting impatient, he asked.
"Damien is not in the mansion, do you know what the emergency is? The elders won’t disclose it," she managed to find out about Damien leaving the mansion, but she wasn’t told the real reason he left, which bothered her.
At least, if she knew what the emergency was for, she could manage to help Aurora.
"Yes, I do." Dave answered like it was the normal thing for him to know. Enoch had passed the information through a text message while he was out with Charlotte.
He was also supposed to be on his way to the airport to assist them with the emergency in the other country, but Charlotte’s mood was stopping him from leaving.
"What’s it?" Eager, she moved closer to him and inquired.
"I forgot to mention, your lovely son didn’t want you and others to know." Theresa’s mood turned sour, her face contorted into a frown as she pondered on why Damien was hiding the situation from everyone. If the elders hadn’t told her the real reason, could it be that they also didn’t know about it?
"I...." Theresa trailed off when she saw the direction of her son’s gaze. It was toward where she saw Charlotte walking away, when they both entered the mansion. Speaking of which, why did Charlotte run away like that when they both went out together in a good mood?
"What did you do to her?" Changing the topic, Theresa asked, her glare intense on Dave. Why couldn’t her two sons ever treat a woman right? What was wrong with both of them, could they be psychopaths?
"Who? Charlotte? Nothing, I did nothing." He was quick to respond, as he didn’t want misunderstandings.
"So why did she run away upon your arrival?" Theresa didn’t back down and questioned him further.
"Well, it’s complicated. I confessed my feelings to her," he disclosed and dropped his head in shame, scolding himself for ever taking a stupid move. Who confesses their feelings to an engaged woman?
"Whatt?? As in love feelings?" Theresa was taken aback that she didn’t know when her mouth parted in shock.
Dave confessed his feelings to a lady? It had been over years since the heartbreak from the realest relationship he ever had, and she never thought he could truly love someone again. Not even Charlotte, the little girl he always ignored back then.
It was only a wish of her to see them together but she didn’t depend on it, thinking Dave could never fall in love again. Turns out, not every wish was a fantasy.
"Yes mother. Can I go now?" Looking at where Charlotte disappeared from, he asked, his voice, sounding more like an impatient plea.
"Sure sure. Go after your woman, son!" Theresa’s excitement tripled as she replied. If things worked out between Dave and Charlotte, then somehow there was still hope for Aurora and Damien.
She sighed, wondering if Aurora was fine. Since that morning she came, she hadn’t seen Aurora. She decided to give her the space needed and get to talk to her tomorrow.
The following day.
Aurora was still locked up in the dungeon, her body growing cold and weary from staying in such a confided, lonely and Dark space.
She had been thrown into the dungeon once, but it wasn’t a tiny space like this that was meant for rogue werewolves, it was a bigger one for human beings. Sighing, she rubbed her palms together for warmth and blew on it repeatedly to keep herself warm for a while.
Hopefully, Theresa was going to find out about her disappearance, and then come looking for her, so she should be released soon.
The second day went by and no one came.
Third day went by and no one came.
Fourth day came and finally, the gate of the tiny cell was opened.
"Oops, is our little princess drained of life or did she manage to survive?" The first voice she had to hear was the disdainful one of Sarahs’. How come she managed to keep her locked in her for three days without alerting the mansion members? Theresa could never have abandoned her here if she knew about what happened.
"Y..ou lo...cked me in he..re, why?" With every ounce of strength in her, she parted her mouth and spoke, her voice coarse and restrained from the lack of food and water for three days. Even the biggest criminal wasn’t refused basic needs.
"Oh no darling. You still haven’t learnt your lesson. When you try to steal what is not yours, you end up being punished for it." Sarah replied and busted into a feat of laughter.
"I never stole anything," she mumbled and droplets of tears started dripping down her cheeks. She knew Sarah was referring to her stealing Damien from her but it was never her intention. She knew this was going to happen right from the time she signed the contract.
"Is anyone there?" Sarah called out.
"Yes," and two guards presented themselves.
"Take her to the torture room, let’s play." She ordered and walked out of the cell.
Aurora had no strength left in her to fight, so she allowed them to drag her to wherever they wanted to. They got to the torture room and she was tied to a chair that seemed like a torture chair.
It had stains of blood, pieces of hair and patches of clothes on it.
"Please don’t torture me!" Aurora exclaimed, her body shivering from the thought of being tortured again, in the hands of another man’s true mate.
"Are you finally feeling regretful? But isn’t it too late for that? Begun the torture!" She mocked and ordered the guards.
"Wait," Holding her hands up, she stopped the guards and walked up to where the tools for torturing were placed.
"Use this," an iron whip that had thorns on it was handed over to the guards to use on Aurora, in which they shook their heads in disapproval, indicating they couldn’t use such a deadly weapon on her.
"You dare defy your Luna!" Yelling, she questioned, ready to strike the whip on the guards but instead it landed on Aurora’s thigh.
"Ahhhhh!!" A shrill scream of horror echoed through the walls of the torture room, her eyes widened from the unexpected strike.
Memories of the torture she experienced in the past flashed through her eyes, and she stated panicking, her heartbeat increasing in tenfolds.
"Exactly, I want every wipe to break out that scream in her or it’s going to be you both scream. Understood?" She scared the guards and it worked. They immediately took hold of the whips and positioned themselves beside her.
Aurora knew there was no going back for her so she decided to endure the pain. It was going to be over soon or later. She was going to endure it and wait for Damien’s arrival so she could sign the document and leave.
"Start," Sarah ordered and the torture began.
Each whip brought out a horrific scream from Aurora, her thighs bleeding profusely from the effect of the thorns. If she ever imagined a day like this, she would have found a way to run away.
All her life, she had lived in peace and harmony with everyone but they always wanted to cause her pain for no reason. She was either mocked for her hair, origin or skin color in her family because she was a bit fairer than her relatives.
Her mate betrayed her, killed her parents, tortured her and sold her as a slave without feeling bad. Yet, she allowed the same thing to happen to her. Except, Damien wasn’t her mate and he could easily discard her without feeling remorseful. She was just a plaything to him so it wouldn’t hurt if he took Sarah’s side. No, she was expecting him to take her side. After all, she was the rightful Luna and not a plaything like her.
"Why did you steal from my brother-in-law’s room?" Sensing someone’s footsteps getting close to the torture room, Sarah acted like she was truly interrogating Aurora and asked.
Aurora scoffed, finding it weird that she was interrogating her after refusing to believe her.
"I didn’t steal anything," in a low, weak voice, she replied. Aurora’s eyes were closed, her breathing unstable and her head swung to the back from having no strength.
"Then why did you try to kill me?" The next words that came out of Sarah’s mouth somehow managed to strengthen Aurora. She slowly looked up and questioned.
"What did you just say?"
