Alpha Damien's Breeder: The first night
Chapter 88: Misunderstandings

Chapter 88: Misunderstandings

He hated the fact she wasn’t acknowledging his actions even though he was trying to teach the people who bullied her a lesson. What was more annoying was that she blamed him for being bullied by other women.

"I do not care!" He answered, his voice getting cold and his eyes turning dangerous.

"That’s why these things keep on happening to me, what if I am bullied behind your back, who would save me?!" She retorted, determined to make him furious so he could revoke his decision. The decision could completely ruin her plans if she wasn’t careful.

"So you are going to let them be? Just because you are afraid of them?!" He sounded irritated as he asked, his left hand was clenched into a fist and he was trying so hard not to shout at her.

"Yes, I want to be afraid of them! Let them be!" Raising her voice, she replied and a drop of tear started flowing down her laps that made Damien frown.

Was he so bad that he couldn’t even do something to make her genuinely happy for once? He didn’t know why he was trying so hard to be good for her but he knew he would never let her go despite their contractual relationship.

"Fine! Keep on getting bullied like the coward you are!" He was so mad that he didn’t know when he called her a coward. Realizing the momentous action, he opened his mouth to talk but was interrupted by Enoch who seemed impatient.

"She is here Alpha, I can’t bring her in," saying that, he gave a meaningful glance to Aurora indicating he couldn’t bring another person into the car as Aurora already occupied the space.

"I would go to meet her," saying that, Damien alighted from the already parked car, and started walking toward a spot.

Aurora wiped off the remaining tears in her eyes and followed Damien’s movement toward a red car that looked like it was waiting for Damien. Realizing their car had been parked for a while, she wondered how long her beef with Damien had been.

A slender lady with a curvy body came down from the red car and abruptly hugged Damien who gently hugged her back. For a reason, a part of

Aurora didn’t like the fact that he was hugging a lady so intimately, she could not even recall when he hugged her like that.

Rebuking herself, she wiped off her tears and ran her hands through her hair to release her distress.

"Let’s get moving," Enoch suddenly instructed the driver, which had Aurora worried.

"Are we not waiting for the Alpha?" Unable to hold in her worry, she asked, staring towards Damien and the lady with a concerned gaze.

"He asked us to leave," Enoch’s answer was brief and firm, prompting the driver to start the engine for departure.

"But..." Dropping her hands on the window, she worriedly watched Damien follow the woman into her car and the door slamming shut after them.

The car was tinted so she could barely make out what was going on in the car. With a worried sigh, she sank back into her seat and dropped her head backward.

They didn’t even get to separate on good terms, she didn’t know if confronting him had been the best solution. Should she just have allowed him to do what he wanted to do? But what if things escalated and she created trouble for him?

Even though she didn’t want to show it, she was more worried about something happening to Damien, rather than her.

The car soon sped off and they got back to the mansion safely, except someone else couldn’t stop worrying about another.

Getting back to the mansion, it was already evening but Aurora was too sad to eat so she went to her room once they reached the mansion.

While she sat on the bed, a slender figure entered her room and slowly walked up to Aurora on the bed. It was Scarlet, her face laced with concern as she gazed upon Aurora’s face. She hadn’t been able to look at Aurora since she fainted and now that she had the chance, she could only stay for a few moments.

"I feel so bad Aura," Scarlet agonized as she moved closer to Aurora, taking a seat beside her on the bed.

Looking at the fragile figure on the bed, Scarlet’s heart ached at how stressed Aurora looked. Poor Aurora, if only she had managed to escape that night, she wouldn’t be in such a situation right now. But then again, thinking about her goal, she might have been dead if she had escaped that night.

Scarlet felt an immense headache as she thought about her closest friend’s situation. She wished she had the power to help Aurora get out of the ugly situation, but she was far from being powerful so she could only pity her friend.

Taking a deep sigh, she gently stood and started walking out of Aurora’s room.

As Scarlet left Aurora’s room and started walking away, she stumbled upon Enoch who looked anxious. Thinking back at it, he had taken care of her that day without inconveniencing her.

She just couldn’t stand being with him because of their past.

"Hey, how are you feeling?" Finally noticing her, Enoch moved closer to Scarlet and asked, his eyes filled with worry about her well-being.

"How long would you keep her locked in?" Waving off his concern, she answered with a question, acting like she didn’t care about his concern about her.

"As long as Damien wants her in," obviously, he replied. Enoch himself didn’t like the idea of locking her in when she did absolutely nothing wrong but they were going against Damien here. It was better to ignore the situation rather than worsen it.

"Want her in? What has she done to deserve the lock-in? You know this is wrong, she deserves her freedom!" Unable to hold in her anger, she took a step closer to him, their chests almost touching each other, and vented out.

"Yes but it’s the Alpha’s order, I can’t do anything about it." Facing away from her, Enoch answered.

"No, you can, you are just too cowardly to do something. Why must you follow every one of his words?!" With her voice still raised, she retorted, her gaze laced with disdain as she questioned him.

She could understand the strong sense of duty Enoch had towards Damien due to his position as the Alpha, but she couldn’t understand why he was ready to do anything Damien wanted, even when it was wrong. That sense of duty ruined them and now he was still blindly being Damien’s dog.

"I wish you were this willing to stay close to me if it wasn’t because of Aurora," Enoch said, shocking Scarlet.

"What?" Surprised, she stared at him intently.

"Stop making it sound bad. She will be freed soon!" Saying that, he brushed past her and started walking away, not sparing her another glance.

Scarlet watched him retreating and scoffed with a forced smile on her face. She knew it was useless talking to him as his mentality was already fixed on one thing.

Taking a deep breath, she glanced at Enoch once more and left the corridor. As she walked away, Enoch halted in his strides and looked back to also glance at her.

"When would you give me a chance?" Lowly, he muttered, reminiscing about their happy past together before things went haywire. They were both happy together but he had his duty as the Beta and could only choose his duty over her.

If he had chosen her over this duty, would things be normal between them? But there was one thing he was certain about and that was the fact that he was the cause of their pain.

"You can stop guarding the door!" He instructed the guard watching over Aurora who seemed taken aback by the order.

"Beta?" The guard said, trying to confirm the order to know if he heard the wrong words. The Alpha specifically asked him to not allow her out of her room, and there was a consequence for letting her out.

"I said stop watching over her, I would handle it." He repeated, his voice stern.

The guard swallowed hard, finding himself stuck between disobeying the Beta or going against the Alpha’s stern order. But seeing how firm the Beta was in dismissing him, it was better he left for now.

"Al... .. right," with huge difficulty, the guard finally agreed to leave and gave a small bow before leaving Enoch’s side.

Once Enoch confirmed that the guard had gone, he stared at Aurora’s room door and also left the corridor, not bothering to check up on her anymore.

With the calm expression on Scarlet’s face when she came out of Aurora’s room, he was sure that she was fine.
