Chapter 49: Her nemesis

"Damien, should I bring her up here?" Noticing Damien’s intense anger, Enoch approached him and inquired.

Damien was about to respond, but the DJ abruptly changed the music to a louder one, causing everyone to gather in the middle of the hall.

"Oh, this is my cue. See you later, folks!" Daved declared and headed downstairs to join the dancing crowd.

Gazing at Aurora, he contemplated bringing her up to where he was but it was going to garner more attention. He decided to observe, just in case she regains her consciousness and stops dancing.

In the midst of the hall’s revelry

"It’s like music raining down on me. Can you feel it in your body?" Aurora exclaimed in her drunken state and rushed to the center of the dance floor.

Scarlet was taken aback and couldn’t stop Aurora before she ran off. Shaking her head, she took a shot and stood up. They were determined to have fun, and Damien was probably occupied with the elders upstairs anyway.

"Scarlet, come join me!" Waving her hand, she gestured for Scarlet to come over and sway to the music.

"Sure, why not?" Scarlet sluggishly replied, trying to maintain a semi-drunk state, but the party atmosphere was tempting enough to get fully drunk. She drank one more short and walked steadily toward the crowd.

They danced together, laughing and swaying on the dance floor.

"Wow, my friend is quite the dancer!" Scarlet exclaimed, completely intoxicated and oblivious to her surroundings.

"You bet!" Aurora replied, giggling happily as she swayed to the melodious tune.

"Today is the best day ever!" Dropping her hands in the air, Scarlet yelled and continued dancing in her drunken state.

Unbeknownst to Aurora, a pair of black-obsidian eyes glared at her with detest, ready to burst into flames.

Aurora noticed the young man from before, and her curiosity piqued. She felt compelled to dance with him, so she approached him.

"It’s you! Are you here to dance too?" She asked with excitement, sticking her tongue out playfully and giggling nervously.

Before the young man could respond, Aurora had already dragged him onto the dance floor, not giving him a chance to refuse.

"Woahh," she was so drunk that dancing with the young man was all she could think about. The situation escalated when she got too intimate, clinging onto him.

With no one able to stop her, she was lost in the crowd. Scarlet was now completely out of control, and only Selena could save them both.

"Let’s dance ballet!" Scarlet exclaimed and led the young man in a ballet dance. He seemed lost and allowed Aurora to take control. No one paid attention to them, as everyone was immersed in their own fun.

Seeing how completely drunk she was, she probably didn’t even know what she was doing. He didn’t have friends at the party anyway, so it wouldn’t hurt to dance with a drunk lady.

Enoch knew Damien was already on the verge of losing control, and Aurora’s actions could be the catalyst.

He attempted to approach Aurora, but Damien quickly stopped him with a firm hand.

"Oh, looks like the lady likes to dance," a man in an open shirt approached Aurora and winked at her.

When Aurora remained focused on the young man, the newcomer grew furious and decided to take matters into his own hands.

Damien could no longer take it again.

"I think...." Enoch trailed off when Damien already left his side.

"So much for self control," Enoch muttered and chuckled.

He let go of the young man, who thanked him and walked away, and grabbed Aurora’s wrist, pulling her closer to him.

"Ahh, you have quite a broad chest," Aurora absentmindedly compared it to Damien’s chest and leaned against him.

"Would you like to get a closer look in bed?" The man whispered seductively into her ear.

Suddenly, Aurora realized something and shook her head, rejecting his advances. "Where is my Sun? What did you do to him?" She referred to the young man he had released earlier, so he pulled her closer, tightening his hold on her.

Aurora struggled weakly, but it was futile. "Your struggling turns me on," the man continued with his seductive words, irritating Aurora even more.

About to protest, Aurora suddenly felt a strong tug and found herself facing a familiar, cold gaze.

"Why do you look so familiar?" She moved closer, staring directly into his eyes.

Damien’s glares were so intense that Aurora flinched back in fear.

"Save me! He wants to kill me!" She yelled, attempting to free herself from Damien’s grip.

The rough man was about to curse at the person who snatched away his potential prey but retreated when he realized it was the Alpha. He grew scared, thinking he had preyed on the Alpha’s woman.

"She’s all yours. I was just trying to help her," he said, swiftly disappearing from Damien’s sight.

Damien was satisfied that at least the man knew what he should do, unlike this annoying girl in his arms who didn’t even realize how furious he was with her.

Realizing her helplessness against the man she thought wanted to kill her, Aurora clasped her hands together and pouted her lips at him like a child.

"Please spare me. I haven’t given birth to Alpha’s child yet. He won’t spare my dead body," she pleaded and began to cry, drawing attention to their situation.

"Isn’t that the Alpha?" Someone murmured.

"Is he interested in that girl?" Another person wondered.

"She’s one lucky person. I should kill her."

Damien scooped Aurora up like a princess and started walking out of the hall.

Aurora was shocked, momentarily stunned by the action, but then she panicked when she didn’t see Scarlet following them.

"My friend is still inside!" She shouted, stretching her hands towards the hall’s exit.

"Enoch will take care of it," Damien replied sternly, and suddenly, something sparked in Aurora’s mind. How did this stranger, who kidnapped her, know Enoch, Damien’s beta?

"Who are you?" She asked.

"Your nemesis!"
