Alpha Damien's Breeder: The first night -
Chapter 40: You are mine
Chapter 40: You are mine
It was a maid who came to deliver the message. Aurora dismissed the maid, but she insisted, "He said to make sure I escort you back."
’That annoying man,’ Aurora thought, feeling grumpy as she stood up to follow the maid to the dining room. Damien was so authoritative and irritating, she could have easily gone to the dining room by herself. What was the need for this mini entourage?
As she descended the stairs, she noticed everyone’s gazes fixed on her, which made her nervous. Why were they looking at her as if she were a stranger?
Except for Damien, who kept his attention on his phone, the rest of them continued to gaze at her until she took her seat next to Dave.
"Thank goodness you are alright. I was going to check up on you, but your Alpha stopped anyone from coming over," Dave expressed his concern as soon as she sat beside him.
"Thanks for worrying about me. I am doing better," she replied and then turned her gaze towards Damien. He didn’t seem bothered by his brother’s accusation and didn’t even look at him.
She couldn’t understand why he would prevent others from seeing her when it wasn’t a life-or-death situation. She almost rolled her eyes at his pettiness.
Sensing an intense gaze on him, Damien looked up to meet Aurora’s angry eyes, which she quickly averted. Memories of their previous encounter flashed in her mind, and she suddenly blushed.
"You look red, are you okay?" Dave noticed and asked, making her more uncomfortable.
"I-it’s just so hot, I am fine," she stammered, avoiding eye contact, and began eating to distract herself.
Damien then turned his attention to Evelyn, inquiring about Lucy.
"She has been well-treated and returned home two hours ago," Evelyn disclosed, and Damien nodded.
"We will have the training at the center tomorrow. They don’t have to duel, just get some exercising materials," Damien informed, earning a nod of satisfaction from Enoch.
Remembering how unkempt he looked this morning,’So he was training,’ she thought and sighed. They must have heightened security and training due to yesterday’s events. She hoped Lucy was okay, whoever she was.
Although this wasn’t her pack, the people had been accommodating since she arrived. While there might be some bad elements, she appreciated the kindness of the good ones.
She wished she could return after avenging her parents’ deaths, but she couldn’t bear the guilt of killing someone. So, she intended to end her own life to reunite with her parents. They would forgive her for killing someone, right?
"I am satisfied with the architectural design you showed me. You can start the building," Damien instructed one of the Elders.
"Alpha, what about the list of those who are to reside in the mansion?" One of the Elders inquired.
"I will mail it to you tonight," Damien replied.
"I can’t wait to meet them. I hope you select more females. They are more useful than men," Dave eagerly anticipated meeting them, as it had been a while since he was with a woman. Women usually pursued him due to his position as the Alpha’s brother and his charm.
"Aren’t you shameless?" Enoch teased and shook his head at Dave’s remark.
"What’s the fun of having shame?" Dave brushed off the comment and continued eating. Before their departure to the other country, the mansion was full of life and had lots of people roaming around in it.
They had to dismiss a lot back then since their Alpha wasn’t going to be in the mansion, they didn’t see the need for them to still be in the mansion. It was like imprisoning them, when most of them had families they could live their life with.
Truthfully, this was why Theresa was so eager to get Damien to sleep with a woman. If Aurora had successfully mated with him years ago, she might have not missed the company of those who left the mansion with her grandchild by her side.
The idea of more people coming to the mansion excited Aurora. She hoped some of her friends were among them, it would be fun to have familiar faces around.
"If you need anything, let me know, Aurora," Dave said as he stood up to leave the dining table before departing.
"Thanks," she replied.
Damien also stood up and ordered, "Follow me."
Aurora sighed and followed him upstairs. She was exhausted and wanted to rest, she wondered what he wanted now.
Entering his room, she stood by the door just in case he had other intentions for her tonight.
"I won’t be touching you tonight, relax," Damien assured her when he noticed her hesitation to enter further.
Feeling relieved, she decided to trust him and moved closer as he continued to speak.
"Can you operate a phone?" He asked.
"I have seen some of my friends use them, but I haven’t bothered to get one. Why do you ask?" she wondered why he wanted to know if she could use a phone.
Although she had thought about getting one, she didn’t see the need as she mostly spent her time in the mansion and focused on her revenge.
"Scarlet can use one, get her to help you operate it," he said, extending his hands with a wrapped box that tempted her.
Excited, she forgot her initial hesitation and reached for the phone.
"Is this really mine?" she asked, her eyes shining with joy as she took the phone out of the box.
"Don’t you want it? Then bring..." Damien started to say, but she quickly withdrew her hand, preventing him from taking it back, and said, "I love it."
"Ahh," Damien playfully flicked her forehead, causing her to glare at him. She rubbed the spot and stepped back from him. Looking at the phone, she couldn’t wait to show Scarlet.
"If you need to call me, just dial 1. I already saved my number in it."
"You saved your number first? She almost rolled her eyes.
"Of course, you are mine."
